i think that amon should have [sp] taken away tenzin and fams bending so that korra would actually be the last airbender. seems like a silly name for a series with several airbenders in it [/sp]

Wha-?
Avatar: The Last Airbender was about Aang, the last airbender that survived the fire nation's genocide of his people.
Avatar: The Legend of Korra is about the next Avatar after Aang who gets airbending training by Tenzin, the son of Aang.

i was under the impression that it was called The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra due to some lawsuit from James Cameron or something
everyone just refers to it as korra so i might be wrong

No. It's technically just "The Legend of Korra".
It was originally unveiled as "Avatar: The Legend of Korra", then renamed "The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra" before finally just dropping everything but "The Legend of Korra".
I checked with the US Copyright Office, they only have "The Legend of Korra" on file.
well it did turning a teaser be named back to Avatar: The legend of Korra
So /co/ likes to complain about things, and it looked like yet another thread slamming the plot of Korra was appearing:

However, something magical happened on the third post...

And thus an incredible thread was born!

There was a scene in the finale when Naga knocks a snow equalist chi blocker down. It could easily look like Naga doing a dunk

Bottom middle of the thread summary image
that last scene with the lieutenant finding out how amon is a bloodbender was really heavy. His face of disappointment and defeat really gave a glimpse as to how much he must have sacrificed to get where he was. And to find out it was all a lie must have been soul crushing. Im almost certain he was killed right then and there since he doesnt even create a grunt or yell when he hits the wood planks. I felt bad for him.

oh god wait does that count as a spoiler?
i still think republic city's general system is bad
i mean i understand the point, to unite all people within the nation and protect them from devastation etc but the problem is that they relied on aang too much to be the ultimate authority. take yakone, for instance. if aang wasn't there the city in general (probably) would have been super boned.
problem is once aang dies, there's a 15 year window (at LEAST) where the next avatar won't show up. (korra's older than that. 18?) then the city basically goes to shit because all the powerful benders are beating the shit out of everyone and there's no avatar to save them.
they should have focused more on existing without the avatar's help. making a chi-blocking branch of the police/military would have helped and a few bloodbenders wouldn't hurt either. obviously there's a fine line with that policy of not...well, becoming a dictatorship and putting the entire community in lockdown mode with deathpolice, but it's smarter than being forced to rely on aang (or the avatar) in case things get out of control.
i still say benders ruin stuff
[editline]28th June 2012[/editline]
i mean in my scenario the obvious villain is a higher-up in the military who stages a coup and now has bloodbenders and chi-blockers running rampant, but. still.
Chi blockers in the police force gave me a thought
What if a police chi blocker and an equalist chi blocker fought eachother?
How would that go down
Quite frankly I'm surprised there aren't any. Suki learned it from Ty lee, so did the rest of the kyoshi warriors...you'd think at least one of them would be involved somehow.

Everybody got trashed by Yakone because they didn't suspect that he could bloodbend everybody when his hands were restrained. Aang says that "under normal circumstances I wouldn't be involved" and he does seem unattached to what's going on. The police force arrests Yakone, and the council (of at least two nonbenders) convicts him. Aang was only needed when their plans to arrest him fell through.

Korra wasn't even supposed to go to Republic City. Lin was upset that Korra was in "her city" because she believed - pretty accurately - that her police force could handle things. It was only due to the escalation of the conflict that Korra was needed. And that is the Avatar's purpose - to be the arbiter of peace when all else fails. Remember, Roku allowed Sozin to remain Fire Lord even though he didn't deserve it.

The main purpose of chi-blocking is to briefly remove bending abilities. However, this can also be accomplished with restraints - several times we see the Krew incapacitated because they are tied up by bolas, not necessarily chi-blocked. The police force uses cables to capture and restrain because they have a longer range than chi-blocking, which requires physical contact.
Also haven't seen != doesn't exist

While I think the idea of training blood benders is a bad idea, training water benders to resist blood bending should definitely find its way onto the itinerary. It would also help if the RC police force and the UF learned from this and began inducting nonbenders to their ranks. For the police chi blocking would be extremely effective at subduing violent offenders.
Although I do admit I'm a bit fuzzy on what exactly the United Forces purpose is. Who are they protecting against? All the nations are united under one banner and the Equalist revolution doesn't seem all that likely given most of the tech that allowed them to gain an advantage was invented after their formation. Although it strikes me that their shipyard would be a pretty cool place to see with all that metalbending.

It would look a lot like this (yes, the picture was intentionally rotated):

The UF is like UN's peace keeping forces or something, perhaps also striking down rebellions or dictatorships and stuff, but mainly protecting and helping people.
I was laughing so hard at this moment :D
