It'd also make for a good redemption story.
I'd very much prefer Tahno coming back with the secret to regaining one's bending instead of Korra connecting with her spirit side out of nowhere and watch him go 1 v 1 with Amon.

When you think about that any airbender could've gotten small rocks or ball bearings and shot them at ludicrous speeds at enemies.
In theory, could waterbenders bend small amounts of earth by bending water moisture in rocks? Or could airbenders perform technique similar to bloodbending by bending the air in blood cells?
You guys are thinking about this too hard.

Maybe it's that Airbenders can fly? I know all the other types of bending can be used for jumping/temporary flying but Airbenders can fly for a very long time.
