Well, the fact that the art style is near anime levels combined with the high amount of action scenes makes for a pretty long production time.
Speaking of the Promise, was anyone else bothered by some of the illustration work in the first issue? Aang has the head of a three year old on the cover, and a couple of Toph's faces are weird.
I'm not normally one for cosplay but Amon was too good to resist. Heres a shot of the mask (its sanded smooth now) in an unfinished state. Not much but I though you guys may get a kick out of it.

Just found out that Momo was originally going to be Monk Gyatso reincarnated. Even though it's not cannon, it's nice to keep that in mind when watching some of the old episodes.

While the gag isn't bad and they only did it once this joke was placed at utterly the wrong point in the story and really broke the mood. I cringed hard when it happened. It would have been fine in like the first 5 episodes but they had to put this utterly out of place joke at the climax of the story.

Nah her build is completely different.
Korra is pretty solid, whereas that drawing is really thin and slightly bony.

Who ever is dressed as Asami is really hot.
I feel they kind of shoehorned in their pet fire ferret because, like Momo, they need a cute animal sidekick. He really doesn't do much except randomly come in and save them by biting some ropes or something. Bolin STILL didn't get enough attention, he feels kind of undeveloped. I really hope they spend more time on fleshing out their characters in Season 2 instead of focusing on more unneeded teen love drama like in half of Season 1.
Bolin needs some more fleshing out for sure. Compared to Sokka, who was both the comic relief and-- ironically-- the brains of the group; Bolin is, at the moment, solely the comic relief. We know he's a capable fighter, and is level-headed-- or just really optimistic-- under pressure, but he needs some more to do in Season 2 than just being the mascot. Same goes for Asami, really. With Mako having completely broken up with her, her ties to the group are all but severed.
Incidently, Pabu appears to have gotten himself hired by a Canadian telecom company.

Nothings quite perfect but I tried. Will have better pictures once I get ahold of some other peoples photos. So far I've taken Toph's bending, 4 random people's bending, a pyro's bending, Ice King's bending, and Bender's bending.

I thought both Bolin and Mako had pretty lackluster character development tbh. Aside from the love triangle that centered around him and the whole fiasco with Asami from 9 onwards there really wasn't all that much to Mako as a character. Somewhat ironically I think he actually ended up as the eye candy everyone assumed Asami would be.
It's funny how Momo and Appa have a more developed character and personality than most people in TLOK.
You know, I think people are being a bit harsh on the romantic subplot of Korra. I know if they *hadn't* included it, there'd be even more bitching than there already is. Sure, some of the twists did come out of nowhere, and it was the source of many of the more awkward lines, but overall, it wasn't actually that bad.
I like how bolin got shafted in every sense.
He got shafted romantically.
He got shafted in most fights.
He got shafted in character development.
He's like the coolest character and he gets no attention. Also he's saved their asses more than anyone else has, earth bending easily has the most utility.
how about they just do a spinoff with bolin and asami
