Hm, I thought the ending would have been a bit better if [sp]Korra could only bend all the elements in Avatar form, and just use Airbending normally.[/sp]
I thought the ending was good until I re-watched The Last Airbender then I realised it's virtually nothing compared to it
Well, TLA had like 56 episodes to get everything right. Given the extremely limited number of episodes they certainly could have done worse.

But this wasn't the ending, only the ending to season 1
Is it wrong I supported the Equalists until they went Saturday Morning Villainous Organization?
Avatar: The Last Airbender has the best jokes ever.
"he's having a party for his pet bear."
"like a platypus bear?"
"no, just a regular bear."
"...this place is weird."
I haven't seen Avatar from start to finish, so I just began watching it on Netflix. The only complaint I have is Netflix skipping a few episodes.
Netflix does that, I nearly shot my tv when it didn't have the season 2 finale of Breaking Bad :v:
Day 2 at the convention went well. Took Zuko's bending, Bolin's bending, 3 different Korra's bending, some more random people's bending, several John's bending, and Aquaman's bending.

I have rid this land of airbenders. Also in an Avatar but not Korra related event that happened there, met some awesome Kyoshi warriors, who happened to also be traveling with those guys who sang in the secret tunnel episode.

There's a female Kyoshi warrior off camera here. Sokka Kyoshi's more fitting here anyways.

It still hasn't ended!
Fark! only the first season is finished.

It'd still be sad if we assumed there was only 1 season.
i started watching avatar on netflix and finished it today, it was probably one of the best, most well-developed shows i've ever seen
then i watched all of the legend of korra after
let's just say i was really disappointed

I for one thought the action in The Legend of Korra was a huge improvement, at least.
I for one thought the action in The Legend of Korra was a huge improvement, at least.
the action was nice, i suppose, but it was very insulated
i understand that it's merely a spiritual successor to avatar and it's supposed to be very different, but it lacked character development, which i suppose can be attributed to its brevity of only twelve episodes
it wasn't bad, but it isn't as good as what, in a way, it's trying to live up to
I for one thought the action in The Legend of Korra was a huge improvement, at least.
It took a few steps forwards and a few steps back. Character development did go to hell and we didn't get to see a whole lot of republic city, but the action was a huge improvement, the villain was a huge improvement, and I do appreciate their attempt to run the show without any filler crap. My only major problem with Korra is that they never tackled politically the equalist movement. It just came and died with Amon.
Tbh amon was just nuts and there's nothing stopping non benders from becoming rich and powerful. There's not much to discuss, they CERTAINLY aren't treated like second class citizens (except when tarrlok was a fucking retard and tried to enforce that curfew shit)
Maybe they're saving the politics of the revolt for next season. I mean, who says the Equalist movement actually ended once Amon was taken down?

That's exactly my point. They didn't show us anything going on to support or refute Amon's claim. They made him give all these speeches about an issue that wasn't touched on at all. In fact at some points Korra bullies people with her powers and nothing bad comes of it.
another thing that bothered me about korra was that there was little to no focus on the spirituality of the avatar
also apparently korra became an airbending master after amon took her bending away that made no sense
but i guess the non-spirituality is in line with korra's character, and hopefully she'll start to get closer to it as the series progresses

She really didn't become a master, its just the fact she literally couldn't bend air up until that point. Something ticked at the right moment for that to happen.

she created gale force winds and a wind tunnel that beat the shit out of amon
i understand that the avatar is supposed to be a natural, but that's a bit unbelievable for me
did anyone think that the bending was so much weaker in the legend of korra?
did anyone think that the bending was so much weaker in the legend of korra?
Weaker? If anything, I'd say it was stronger.
I dislike how anyone that could bend metal just blew off bending earth all together. I know I would have switched to earth bending as soon as I realized the Equalists could electrocute you :v:
is it just me or was the explanation of the power to persuade people through bloodbending but never explained how exactly. yakone, used blood bending to manage a mob, tarlok had power over congress and when explained he was a blood bender didn't tenzin see it as a reason why everyone else agreed with him, and amon was a blood bender as well. did amon and tarlok bloodbend people's hand during a vote, "wait, I thought I was the only one who had an unexpected urge to raise their hand?"
Welll considering metal bending is purely a subset of earthbending yeah, it's a little ridiculous.
