The thing is is that the first season was written before and was being animated before they Nick ordered more episodes, which is why everything concluded in the first season.
Depending on what stage the animation and voice acting is at, they'd probably be able to send in revisions. If not, season 2 may also end in one arc.
Seasons three and four would probably have one over arching villain, because the writers know that they have two seasons to flesh out the story.
Holy fuck yes. But if its like that, does this mean that each season will be a new villain/conflict? I mean, TLA spanned over three seasons revolving around one main conflict, and Korra's one season ended the first conflict. If they made the last two/three seasons around one conflict, wouldn't that be odd?
Not necessarily, I actually think it would be more interesting.

Ah, but each season of TLA had a separate villain. First Zuko, then Azula, then Ozai. The super-arch was defeating the Fire Nation and restoring the balance of nations.
Perhaps the same could work for LOK. First Amon, then <Season 2 Antagonist>, then <Season 3 Antagonist>. All connected by the super-arch of defeating the Equalist movement and restoring the balance between benders and non-benders.
Looks like this intended miniseries will become a full sequel, given it now almost matches the same 60 episode length of ATLA with 56 episodes.
Maybe we will also get more world exploration and spirit world shenanigans. Not including the half outside/half inside republic city thing.
I'm pumped
This is a bit silly, but perhaps a civil war between metal benders and earth benders? I am just tossing out possible sub-episode plots.
I want to see Ba Sing Se

Oh wow, I just learned Avatar Kyoshi trained the original Dai Li.
[editline]12th July 2012[/editline]
People were talking a while back about death on Avatar, well quite a few people have been seen dying or murdered in the series according to Avatar Wiki
Chin, Tui, Yue, Zhao, Jet, Aang, Roku, Combustion Man and Kya

I'm not a big fan of the equalist movement. Team Avatar pretty much learned every single weakness to the chi-blockers and were destroying them easily by the finale. The mechs aren't even strong enough to face them at this point. But I don't have any better ideas, so it's better that than Korra + Mako awkward love fest 2013
edit:
Also, their greatest weapon just got invalidated because of Korra, so they're pretty much out of luck.

So give them a *new* greatest weapon. Like, say, guns.
Technologically, it makes sense. Avatar obviously has explosives (bombs were used extensively in TLA) and advanced metalworking. Tech-wise, you could probably get up to the Maxim gun before it gets too weird for the setting.
It's a valid threat to benders. Earthbenders can block it, easily, and metalbenders might even be able to redirect it, but all other benders are SOL on defense. But you could still get some crazy fights with this - Airbending style actually would work well.
Too bad Nick would never allow it.
Is this honestly worth watching? I watched the first two episodes, and they were decent, although it didn't have the watchability that avatar: TLA had. After a bunch of episodes, is it worth keeping up with, and do you see any of the other characters from TLA, besides Katara?
Before I knew Iroh changed VA's I had always thought the change in voice was because of Zuko's betrayal of him and because of his time in prison
His voice gains pitch as he loses body fat. Its the only logical explanation.
If they had guns I'm sure all four elements could block bullets with skill.
Wait, [sp] Zuko didn't die? He doesn't even look old, maybe mid-50s or 40s. Or is that his son? It definetly sounds 100% like Zuko, it even looks like him, minus the scar.[/sp]
Also, how many episodes came out so far? I'm on 11 on book 1.

I think there's 12

That is his grandson. He is voiced by the same actor, though, so he *should* sound 100% like him.
There are 12 episodes in Book 1.
Ahh, makes much more sense that way. It's nice to have the flashbacks of the old characters though. It's hard to stay dedicated to Korra and the new gang now, I was so used to Aang's group.
When is the next book expected to come?
Sometime next year I'd imagine.

Id say this fall or winter probably.
I posted while back about SFDebris reviewing Season one, we his 4 part review for season 2 is up. Not sure if anyone liked it, but here is Season2

Ehhh, but the metal benders can already "earth" bend. Plus I don't think its a thing that you can either do it or not, so I'm pretty sure any earthbender who would put there time into metal bending can do it unlike water benders and blood bending.
And we have to wait until 2013 for a new seasonnnnnnn

A season focusing more on the spirit world? Could be pretty interesting.
Sounds like it will be an interesting season. If the spirit world is going to be a big part of it then I imagine Koh will make a return.
52 episodes?
Yay! Character development time!

[sp]so maybe noatak did talk to the spirits then lie. heck could have given him knowledge upon blood bending to establish such a feat[/sp]

Now that's cool. Hopefully [and most likely], we'll be seeing more flashbacks of the old Team Avatar as adults. Also, is that Space Sword I see with Sokka?

Oh man I seriously hope so. Need more than just one episode of what seems like could be a great character/villain.
