I watched it for the first time a few days ago. I seriously do not know how a person can fuck up a series so badly.
My aunt liked the movie, and her defense was that she never heard of the cartoon and that she was my eldar therefore she had better taste.
By the way, my dad liked the old series and saw episode 3 and is going to wait until they come out on dvd so he can see them all and not have to worry catching up. I told him that it's uploaded legally online though I seem to have an issue of my email account blocking my dad as spam so we'll see.

After that I went over to my friends house and accidentally dropped my keys down the flight of stairs to his basement. His basement light was out so I asked him to go find them for me and he said he couldn't. Lazy prick, if I had green eyes I would be helping people with my night vision all the time.

When I saw that yesterday, I was confused. Is that actually what I think it is? 6 earth benders trying to move a single rock REALLY slowly?
she's ripped compared to the way girls are normally depicted in comics/cartoons. I'm trying to think of another women who's notably strong and all I can think of is Brienne from game of thrones
Agreed, gals are rarely ever depicted as being strong.

So you're saying that based on the color of her clothes and the color of her eyes that she might be working for Amon? Well in that case we better keep a close eye on Tenzin, with all the red he was wearing at that party I think he might be a firebender.
I mean really, the logic behind this is so poor and obvious I highly doubt the guys that work on avatar would do something like that. If anything it's a red herring for all the people that think Amon's men have green goggles because their eyes are green. :v:

Well now that's just not nice. Lemmie explain to you why I really thought she was working with Amon other than the color palette of her clothing. Given the circumstances of "Team Korra," how they're short on money to compete in pro bending, that Mako is hit out of nowhere crossing the street by a beautiful woman that invites him out to dinner, it seemed to me at the time that this was just a ploy to lure Mako into a false sense of security added with how her father wants to sponsor them and given how serendipitous the chain of events was. Just a theory but there are more pants on head retarded theories about the show out there. All I did was just speculate because Avatar isn't like most kid shows out there, they won't show you a character's motives right off the bat unless thy're meant to, Asami's could for all we know may be evil and working as a spy for Amon which is why she's wearing the anti-benders' colors and not necessarily a symbol of them. But like I said before, I hope I'm wrong and she turns out to be a good character. All just speculation.

See now that's better. I wasn't saying the theory of her being bad was retarded, I was saying that it's retarded to think she's a bad guy purely based on the color of her clothes and eyes. They could be going a lot of ways with Asami from how she was introduced. Personally to me she seems like an unwilling bad guy or a future victim.
It's possible that Amon is [sp]a slightly older threat than people realize. Building off of what some people said earlier, maybe Zuko took his face off during some conflict and he wants revenge on all benders, and/or Aang took his bending away or perhaps he chanced upon the Lion Turtle, but I don't see that happening, personally. He could also be connected with BoLing and Mako, since all three of their fathers were taken by firebenders.[/sp]
The Legend of Korra v1.5: Wild Mass Guessing Edition
Was Amon outed as [sp]Zuko's possible son?[/sp]
I'd read pages back, but there is a heck of a lot of posts to catch up on.
I hope Zuko is gonna come back as a character like Iroh.
"Hello Sweetie."
"Dad, I asked you not to call me that. Call me the Fire Lord."
"But I brought tea!"
Am I the only one hoping that Amon takes away part of Korra's Bending?
Is it just me, or does this have really fast story development, not really liking this that much
maybe he'll try to take away her bending and it'll backfire and she'll be able to airbend
Is it just me, or does this have really fast story development, not really liking this that much
Twelve episode miniseries. Since this was finished before the second season had begun writing, they crammed as much as possible into twelve episodes.
Am I the only one hoping that Amon takes away part of Korra's Bending?
See I thought he was going to take her bending away, then she would have to have a mystical journey to the spirit world in order to get it back. That way she would simultaneously learn about the spiritual side of bending and learn how important that side is.
Also Aang could teach her that spinning marble trick. :v:
the monkey king meelo will teach Korra the air bubble, just you watch.

Pfft, I'm kinda hoping that they throw a wild one out there and make him win. Dude's a bamf.

I kinda like it, wouldn't want it to end prematurely, but I like how they go a step further than the original (which should be kinda expected from a sequel). Just like how metalbending for example was only developed over the course of the series and is now implemented, the Avatar is almost a master of all elements. That gives them space to focus on human relationships (Korra's character development is actually a plot point since she's a warrior, but mentally not ready for being an Avatar yet) which are generally more grounded in reality. It allows them to speak to a somewhat more mature audience, hence the early introduced romantic subplots for example.
With Avatar it was more of a "see the world, meet people" adventure, Korra seems to be more focused on coming of age which the protagonist dealing with her temper, her dreams and goals (I bet Avatar VS probending will become a bigger issue now that the funding money has arrived and Amon has become a more direct threat), romantic emotions and fear realizing you're not as tough as you think you are and you're not as grown up as you wish you were. And that's okay, let Tenzin give you a hug.
Pretty relevant material for middle to late teens if you ask me. I like how they refocused it without turning the show turning into some highschool drama.
Yeah it seems too fast for me. They said they didn't want it to be a repeat though, hence them making her good at water, fire and earth already.
Also 26 episodes long? That's craaap
Was there any reason as to why the original series was called "The Last Airbender" in the US while in the UK it was called "The Legend of Aang"?

Because 'Murica. In all honesty, though, I have no idea. Why is this series "TLA:TLOK" and not Avatar: Legend of Korra?

James Cameron owns the rights to the name "avatar"
hey so i noticed something cool the other day
You know how when Korra finally figures out how to dodge airbending style and spins around in the board thing?
in season 2 of the original series during the episode "The Chase" (i think), when they do a weird old-west style shootout between zuko and azula and eventually everyone else, aang dodges fire with the spins the same way korra does.
iirc that's the only time he does that exact thing.
