I do love how they intergrate things from the old Avatar. I love seeing Katara grown up and Toph's daughter.
Also if Katara is still alive, Toph should be too, she was much younger.

He's intelligent and mysterious. While he's obviously the antagonist, it's hard to tell if he's evil.

I like the theory that she roams the world erecting metal statues of herself wherever she goes, although judging by the flashbacks, she was a high ranking military official. I like the thought of her being THE HIGHEST military official, but she's not suited for that in the slightest.

I can see where you're coming from, but Hitler went into a lot more detail in his propaganda, which really was the key to his success. He basically twisted both religion and scientific discoveries following Enlightenment to come up with a theory why eliminating these and those people is to save the world from parasites. Amon has more of a simple "fuck those top percent!" scheme going on and we don't know about any long-term macroscale goals like CONQUER THE WORLD yet.
I think what makes the antagonists this time great tho are the faceless mooks. In normal fiction they're just target practice. Here they ride motorcycles and can take down protagonists (that have been established not to be newbies when it comes to fighting) and their ability to disable you with only a handful of hits makes them a believable threat. And they also fight smart with smoke bombs and electric rods and who knows what's to come. On top of that, they're recruited from the common folk and their motivations are clear, so even if they wear a mask they aren't completely faceless.
Amon does a fine job at big the Big Bad, but I think the main antagonists in general are much more interesting this time around.
So has the new episode been leaked yet? Could someone share it?
