Another theory: Amon works for Tenzin and Aang, who want revenge on other benders for the genocide
That seems unlikely. Aang is the last person I would expect to go apeshit enough to hire someone to unbendify people. Same with Tenzin.
I read a theory saying that when Aang died at the end of book 2, the Avatar spirit was reincarnated as Amon. Then when Aang died again the spirit reincarnated as Korra. I really hope that it's just a theory. It happened in Buffy, and that just got stupid.

He was only mostly dead.
The Legend of Korra theory that Amon, NOT Korra, is the avatar. The evidence is that Tenzin said that only the Avatar has the power to take away a bender's abilities. Yet somehow Amon, a non-bender, has that ability. But, of course, Korra is a member of the Water Tribe who can bend fire and earth, right? Well in Buddhist theology the soul can "split" after death. It's possible Korra received half of Aang's soul, the part of the soul that can bend, while Amon gained the other half that allows the Avatar to connect to the spirit world. Maybe Korra isn't having trouble connecting to the spirit world because it doesn't come naturally to her, but because she IS NOT the true Avatar. Plus, the Avatar is suppose to bring "balance" to the world, correct? Well Amon can make benders into non-benders, thus equalizing the playing field. What better balance is there than everyone being equal? If you remember from the first Avatar series Aang was able to take away the Firelord's bending by touching two points; one on his chest and one on his forehead. These two points are called Air Chakra "Anahata" and Light Chakra "Ajna" respectively. Air Chakra "Anahata" - Deals with love. Blocked by grief. Located in the heart. Light Chakra "Ajna" - Deals with insight. Blocked by illusion. Located in the forehead. Amon only touches one of these chakra points so I leave the question to you reader: can Amon take away bending, or is it just a matter of the mind?
Well shit.
Wow, I just realized I don't pay a ounce of attention when watching these things.
This was discussed I think back during the third episode. I'm still of the belief that Amon's unbending is temporary, though long enough to fool his audience.
This was discussed I think back during the third episode. I'm still of the belief that Amon's unbending is temporary, though long enough to fool his audience.
Well when you think about it, all the people he took bending from believed that he could take it away or they were all bad in some way. Generally bad people don't have a good spirit, and maybe its a good spirit and believing that you can still bend that prevents Amon from taking bending away. Maybe he spared Korra because he knew that as the avatar she would have to undergo spiritual training. If she came out of it and could bend again, then Amon couldn't use the fear of removing bending to control the people.
He put way too much into that menacing speech to Korra. It felt like he was overcompensating, trying to instill that fear in her so he wouldn't have to worry about being exposed as a fraud.

The last time I saw Amon chi block the wolf bats, he didn't touch the back of the neck? If this is so maybe Amon added the supposed Amon pressure point to the traid it was a counter measure if when they got their chi unblocked the second pressure point would kick in?
SFDebris did a review of the first season of the original series http://blip.tv/sf-debris-opinionated-reviews/avatar-the-last-airbender-water-part-1-6176248 He normally does Star Trek or other Sci-Fi shows I surprised to see Avatar.
one thing i'm still wondering is how aang has a non-bender kid, even if bending is like gene-related or some shit
If bending genes are anything like normal traits, it is entirely possible. I could explain it, but it'd be so much easier and quicker if you (not you personally, just people in general) already had basic knowledge of heredity and whatnot.
I always assumed bending was a spiritual thing, you had to be touched by the spirits or something which would explain how someone's bending could be removed
i've always wondered how exactly the bending thing happens, i mean, why are there only firebenders in the fire nation etc and why is it all mixed now and stuff; the mixed part implies genes. also, if you can learn bending from the original source, why aren't there people that mastered like two forms of bending by learning it from the originals? ALSO WHERE THE HELL DID TENZIN'S SKY BISON COME FROM
Read The Promise, it says Aang found a bunch of hidden massive skybisons or something.
Bending is a combination of genetics and spiritual-ness. It hasn't been specified how exactly it gets passed down.

I hope we get to see Aang next episode.
They did say that this coming episode would be a doozy, so we'll see.
Crap, the backuptoons Justin.tv channel has been closed because of unauthorized content. Where will I watch Legend of Korra now?
Obviously you should wait for it to come out in your country legally and then watch it with a convenient translation to your native language!
Obviously you should wait for it to come out in your country legally and then watch it with a convenient translation to your native language!
A convenient translation... to English?
I was just trying to make it sound as bad as possible. Because that's how things are in countries that aren't the USA and don't have iTunes. Here, the only way to watch Korra legally is to wait for it to air on TV, or for a DVD release. Both of them would be translated to Russian, usually badly.
