I don't usually like any anime, but TLA is one of the few I enjoy. One thing I never understood was WHY DO THEY ALL RUN WITH THEIR ARMS BEHIND THEM
The reason I love Avatar and not any other anime is because it's kind of like a western take on anime, combining the best of both styles.
[sp]Well shit now we know all those Fire nation ships are going to get bombed. Thanks Nick for the preview...[/sp]
I turned it off before the preview... Thanks...
I don't usually like any anime, but TLA is one of the few I enjoy. One thing I never understood was WHY DO THEY ALL RUN WITH THEIR ARMS BEHIND THEM I have only ever seen one person run like that in real life. It was at the Skyrim midnight release at gamestop, and the guy doing it was a complete weeaboo sperglord.
Well your record of not liking anime continues strong my friend, TLA is not anime.
They put a lot of interest in the [sp] newborn child [/sp] I wonder what its gonna play a part for
[sp] For the moment, all that it means is that Katara is dead, since Wu the fortuneteller said she would die in her sleep peacefully after the birth of her fourth grandchild. great grandchild
Well, remember, Facial Features helped us identify Tollok's parentage.

[/sp]
Where was this said? Also, if Iroh is Katara's grandson like we've theorized, then wouldn't she ALREADY be dead? She has Iroh, Meelo, and Jinora, and whatsherface.

It didn't say immediately. She could die 40 years after her 3rd great grandchild's birth and it would still be true. Remember the guy with the shoes?
Just watched and holy shit Lin was fucking incredible when she ripped that airship apart.
I jut had a fun mental image of Lin donning some equalizer gloves/death sticks and beating the shit out of people.

Tenzin's children aren't Katara's great-grandchildren, its just her grandchildren. It'd have to be Tenzin's children children for them to be great-grandchildren
I don't think I'd say that Lin still loves Tenzin. Probably more like a bro, I imagine they grew up together.
Ikki [editline]17th June 2012[/editline] It's actually third great grandchild
I never noticed, but that scene has this weird Studio Ghibli feel and I have no idea why, maybe it's the shading.
I still think his powers come from the mask. That it is some sort of relic from an ancient spirit. But that he is human.
While a possible explanation, it would undermine his character for me as I see it now. For me he's a guy with an obsession he focused his entire life around, and that's why he's both this strong and so "serious business". It would also kinda go against his personality to use supernatural powers for his cause, but then again how he takes bending away is still unknown. I do wonder if the mask was a conscious choice because of another reason tho. Just to make him more intimidating? Or because he could be linked to characters we know from the first series?
[sp]I'm still quite not fond of how they handled the romance. They made it "feel" so obvious that Asami's gonna turn. Maybe the romance aspect suffered because it was primarily for setting up a betrayal?[/sp]
There's so much pointing to the betrayal I'm actually pretty hopeful the writers are consciously setting up a subversion. Asami has always been more distanced from the group, not part of the probending team, relationship-wise only really tied to Mako (while the trio has stronger relationships between each other), not a bender, and now that her relationship to Mako is crumbling she's losing what little direct ties to the Bender faction has whereas her father on the Non-Bending faction still wants her back. So how awesome would it be if she displayed she's not some emotional punching bag between two guys, but actually has her own and clean-cut view on things. She has decided that the Equalists need an asskicking and you're not gonna break her cause that easily. She does have a rather focused and determined personality and sought clearance somewhat quickly after she found out about Mako/Korra, but she didn't let it affect her performance in the slightest. I'm wondering why they pushed Bolin so much in the background tho. All in all I liked how the romance escalated in parallel to the action events, didn't really get in the way for me. Oh and Lin really is in a hurry to becoming Batman, huh? Since I'm pretty sure the writers have a ban on letting characters die and letting her rot off-screen until the reunion finale would be a waste, I'm fairly certain we're gonna see her as a leader figure that's gonna teach Equalised ex-benders how to defend themselves with just the martial arts that are part of the bending motions. Or something like that.
She went from spider-Lin to wolver-Lin to a brief bout as SuperLin. BatLin was just a matter of time.
"Gotta equalise the world from bending... by potentially killing a ton of non-benders with explosions. That will surely justify my intentions to the non-bending world!" That's some logic Amon. [editline]16th June 2012[/editline] Shit, that's Iroh's collar.
Or maybe Bumi is another general for the United whatever stationed on the other side of the world. Also bending must be genetic and works the way hereditary traits work. Katara's parents weren't waterbenders but one of them or both of them had to have it in their genes but it was a recessive gene that became present in Katara and not Sokka. Someone clean up my logic if it's wrong it's been a while since Biology class.
[sp] For the moment, all that it means is that Katara is dead, since Wu the fortuneteller said she would die in her sleep peacefully after the birth of her fourth grandchild. [/sp]
[sp] Wrong. It's her fourth GREAT grandchild. She's probably got another 20 years left, depending on how many kids Kya and Bumi have.[/sp]
Top Half: Awwww hey that's pretty cute! Bottom Half: AUGH WHAT THE FUCK.
The original is a lot less strange: [t]http://i.imgur.com/EnvoW.png[/t]

It's actually her third great grandchild. It doesn't require spoiler tags anymore, I thought it did because I remembered it incorrectly. But it's not going to happen in this tv series, so it isn't a spoiler.

What, you mean on top of the second? I hope so too. My concern is that it would get half-assed just to placate the fans.
