I really hope they draw out the characters much more in the next season and go in to more of the avatar stuff like Korra's Air Bending. I'd also like to see somewhere away from Republic City. The exploring and wonder is one of the things I really liked in the first series. So far I'm enjoying the current series but it could use some polishing.
On the episode: I'm speechless, I can't wait for the season finale.

Actually, I was able to ignore all of the eeewwwwww and do a little more research.
People say its for aerodynamics, but the momentum of swinging your arms more than makes up for the infinitesimal wind drag.
Combat wise, I have a friend who is in a jujitsu class and he asked his instructor the same question. His instructor laughed and told him that your arms are much more usable when they are at your sides and closer to your body.
Turns out their arms were just drawn back while running because it's much easier to animate. The style caught on (for reasons I will never understand as it looks dumb as hell).
Mission accomplished, time for some eye bleach.
It caught on because it's recognizable.
Sucks that they were only originally signed up for one season. I feel the potential in the show is crippled by being a part of Nick and they aren't sure if they can get more than a second or even third season.

Amon ran like that for maybe 4 seconds. Big deal. Honestly, it usually bothers me too, but this time it just reinforced Amon's inhuman feel.

He wouldn't be terrifying if he was. Wow an ancient spirit can do inhuman stuff, who cares. But a human being able to do such feats as taking bending away and resisting blood bending is way more intimidating.

Don't get me wrong, the rest of the episode was amazing, but[sp]Lin's confrontation with Amon was all wrong for 2 reasons.
Reason 1 - He tried to broker a deal to let Lin keep her bending. This just plain isn't Amon's style.
Reason 2 - She didn't get her 1v1 duel with him, like everyone else ones. Again, not Amon's style. He just feels like some generic villain, not the Amon we have been learning about for the last 9 episodes.[/sp]
Imagine if Korra confronts Amon later in the series and gets her bending taken away from her but finds a way to get it back by going to different regions to learn from different people like in Aang's life.

Well 2 seasons is better then one.
The only reason I think Amon is going all out is because, he can. I mean Tenzin said he's entering his end game he's coming out of the shadows and using all the resources he's acquired to take Republic City.

Speaking of Koh, imagine if Amon learn to energy bend through Koh. It would make sense as he practically has no face from the fire bender.
