I don't know about your financial situation, but if you're giving your friend money to mow your lawn because "You don't want to do it." I'd assume you or your family has enough money to pay for veterinary care for your dog. It's not like they couldn't pay long distance. I mean, you did a lot of things wrong. You left it alone outside while you went to get ammunition, you didn't just call your fucking parents and ask what you should do, and the dog might not have needed to die. So yeah, good job OP.

I am giving him $20. That is about 1/5 what I have on hand this very instant. My family is is Missouri. A spinal injury is not that cheap to fix.
And this is not the family vet. it would be a 24/7 business that runs solely on the information you give them. I know near nothing about these dogs. I think they take medication for something. I don't know where it is, what it's for, and how much to give them.

For some context: Basically he was saying homosexuality was wrong and pointed to the college student who killed himself after he was filmed having sex and basically said he killed himself because he knew being gay was wrong.
While the way the situation was handled was far from ideal, and OP is an irrevocable idiot for doing what he did, most of the people here are overreacting, and this is obviously because it's a dog.
It was a stupid move in the first place to throw a fucking stump in a pen wherein there are two small dogs, but at the point where you've most likely crippled your dog, there are only so many options. You could take them to a vet, likely pay thousands for spinal surgery, and hope they fully recover (note: they probably won't). That's even assuming such an injury isn't extremely severe, and located in an ideal place. On the other hand, you could put the dog down through the vet, but why would you do that, when you can do it yourself?
Everyone is quick to condemn OP for responding to the situation the way he did, but if one were in such a situation, they would probably react in a really similar way. That said, the fact that OP is trying to hide it from everyone is something that will haunt him much more than anyone else, in the long run. So I suppose that's fair.
Regardless, the dog itself is out of its misery, which is the most important thing, imo.

First thing I agree with you on.
Our dog had to be put down about a week ago due to spinal problems. Would have cost $6000 just to fix it, with no guarantee it wouldnt happen again.

If you have $20, and that's 1/5 of what you have right now, then you have $100. That would have been enough to have your dog admitted into the veterinary, and additional charges could have been paid off with a payment plan.
