"Oh no I have to pay 76$ to save my dog life." If that was my dog I would that pay that sum in a heartbeat even if their was a 90% chance of death I would still take that 10%.
It may just be an animal, but when you buy a pet you're supposed to take responsibility over it and make sure no harm comes to it. OP just decides "Oops let me just do something that could put my dogs at risk" and now he tries to cover it up. I mean I know he didn't expect it to run in the way, but when you're throwing something big randomly you need to consider if it could possibly damage anything and throw it in the direction where there is nothing it could damage.
I completely agree. I don't think the fact that throwing the stump was really stupid is even in question. I'm just saying people are being too quick to say OP's reaction was inhumane, when it really wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been.
He could have still gotten the exam to assess the severity of the injury. If it was life threatening but not fatal and required surgery that costs thousands, then take it home and shoot it.
it's neck was broken and most likely others were too along with possible severe nerve damage
stop trying to make the OP into an asshole, jesus FUCK you guys are so dumb sometimes
He could be showing the emotion, just not to us. It's kind of hard to show emotion in text whenever you've compiled your thoughts on how to explain it.
Not in this case. It's not just the manner he posted, but also the actions he took in the story.

God hurr he wouldn't just have to pay $76 to save its life.

you don't get that 76 is just the exam do you
"oh god oh fuck i hurt my dog i must shoot it now"
It wasn't just hurt, its spine was bent at an extreme angle.
It probably wouldn't have survived anyway.

I agree with you. It could have been much worse.

I thought I pointed out that the vet thing was only kind of bad. The rest of the things he did combined with his post history suggest he is an asshole so fuck you too buddy
He could have still gotten the exam to assess the severity of the injury. If it was life threatening but not fatal and required surgery that costs thousands, then take it home and shoot it.
The dog made it abundantly clear that it was in paralyzing amounts of pain. That, combined with the fact that it was seizing, makes it damn near 100% certain that such an injury would have cost thousands. Even minor surgeries can run upwards of a thousand dollars.
I go into my house and started to look around. I look in all of the places my parents would hide a gun. I then remembered that there is a .22 in the laundry room. It belongs to my little brother. I bring that outside and show my friend. I have very little experience with guns and he has more than me. He knows a bit about guns. I did not have any ammunition. I figured this was the best way to put him out of his misery and the easiest. So with the yard half done we left for Wal-Mart.
"And then me and my friend left for Wal-Mart, while the dog laid alone in the hot sun."

Now that I think about it, I concur. He seemed like it happened a long time ago, and he had gotten over it.

You're forgetting that Facepunch is like PETA
Except they're not Vegetarians/Vegans.
I'm more disturbed that he didn't immediately call his parents.
By the way the offering to post the pictures was sarcasm, even if I did, I think some of you would say it was shopped.

Congratulations OP you're fucking retarded and have now dug yourself into a gigantic pit of hate with your family that you'll probably never be able to crawl out of, and it could have all possibly been avoided if you had just been a fucking man and called your parents the second it happened. I hope your family disowns you.
honestly I would think you should get charged with some sort of crime for hurting an animal and then killing it so nobody could find out. Im saddened that an innocent animal is now dead because you didnt want to be responsible and do the right thing. I hope you never own a pet again.
Considering that the broken neck meant little to no chances of recovery, and the large monetary sum involved then I think the right thing was done in putting it out of its misery.
Now I suggest you inform the parents of the matter, make sure it is well disposed of and then purchase another dog if such another one is required.

That "reflex thought" was probably better than most. In terms of humanity, actually lifting it up and carrying/driving it to a vet actually could have exacerbated the injury, as well as caused the dog even more pain, for the sake of most likely not even fixing the problem.
Drowning is generally considered one of the most peaceful ways to die, based on accounts of people who nearly drowned
actually, i think there was a guy who posted about how he nearly drowned.
it's actually really fucking painful after the point where you start inhaling water. your arms and legs sting like shit because the muscles are being deprived of oxygen.

Jesus Christ it was just some dog killed by accident. He did the right thing in putting it down.

I agree with you there on some level. I wouldn't have been able to bring myself to do it. I'd have taken it to the vet to get it put down.
Might as well get it an examination while I would be there, though.
I hope you're kidding.
no
Man you should just man up and tell your parents, if you do that then at least you are being truthful. After all you got scared and didn't know what to do, hell I would probably do what you did as well if I was scared enough. Just please tell the truth.
I think there's something mentally off about mbutler, he crushes his dog by picking up and throwing a stump inside a pen, basically bathes his hands in its blood, shoots it, half an hour later makes a facepunch thread going into every detail about what happened complete with an MS paint comic.
And all the while he remains without emotion and acts like some sort of computer program designed to deal with finances
OP, did you buy a bullet for yourself?
no
Then you're a fool.
