I dunno, it's the same where I live. There's about three kids with long hair, and all of them listen to metallica endlessly, one plays world of warcraft, one plays warhammer, and they are all either fat fucks or skinny shits. I always assumed the norm was short/medium hair.

I live in sydney halfway between the mountains and the city. the general fashion around here seems to be short hair, you'll [I]very [/I]rarely nee a guy with hair past their shoulders around here, and if you do they're usually socially awkward and pale.

It takes longer to clean, because of the extra amount of hair you have but that's about it for me
