(Jonas Brothers in 3D!!!111)
That movie is the most badass shit ever made.

I never got to watch Willy Wonka as a kid :( my stepdad (not related by blood, name, or... anything really) told me to "shut the fuck up" and "don't even ask for that garbage". He also hates Forrest Gump so...
If I ever see my little brother watch Alvin and the Chipmunks Movie again I'm going to smack him upside the head.
I like Ne-Yo
they will grow up with no taste. Read the comparison between taste and opinion on this thread.
As I said earlier, just because someone liked something when they were young doesn't necessarily mean they're going to like anything similar to it when they're older, so you can't say for sure that they will grow up with no taste. Also, through your first comparison of taste and opinion:
not what I meant. Opinion and taste are completely different. Say that somebody looks at a pile of puked on dogshit, and says "I like this". An average person would say "Well, that's dumb, it's dogshit.". They could say "well, it's my opinion".
Surely taste is therefore dependant on opinion. If it was everyone's opinion that dog shit covered in puke was the best thing in the history of forever, the person who disliked it would have poor taste as it's his opinion that it's unpleasant, so taste is pretty much just majority opinion.
It's not just the children being stupid- Children's Media has honestly gotten really, really bad. (In myself and many other's opinions.)
Kids aren't too sophisticated. You like stupid kid stuff when you're a kid, then grow up and wax nostalgic about it, trying to convince yourself that it's better than the stupid kid stuff kids like now, even though it isn't. You could go back as far as Looney Tunes in the 40s. Is Bugs Bunny a classic character with historical value? Absolutely. But his cartoons are still stupid as hell, and not very funny. Another thing is that a lot of YOU guys are still kids, physiologically speaking. Brain development continues until the 18-20 range. And it shows--making arbitrarily territorial assertions about how your favorite music is better than someone else's (manifesting as a preference for rock, since you're middle-class white teens engaged in material rebellion) and obsessing over the tastes of a bunch of little kids are both examples of pretty childish behavior. The final irony is that most of you aren't very familiar with the musical landscape either (one FPer's implication that Beyonce and Lady Gaga can't sing is a good example, as is your idea that because your taste shifted from pop and rap to rock, then rock must be better. Guess what? A lot of people's tastes did the opposite). Your critical judgements don't hold any more weight than these kids'. Justin Bieber may be a fruity little twerp, but that doesn't mean the 30- and 40-year-old studio producers and session musicians don't know how to write and record good pop songs.
The youth these days suck ass.

Fuck I hated all 2000 to 2010 everything now sucks
Im suprised MW2 isnt at the top of that list, since it is pretty much aimed at kids.

Here's a couple of patterns I recall from what little I remember of it. - The cartoon that Nickelodeon pushes the hardest will always win the award for best cartoon. No exceptions. For reference, the two cartoons which have monopolized this category are Rugrats (90s) and Spongebob Squarepants (about '02-Present) - The winner of best show overall is usually a sitcom. - Best movie is always in the Action or Comedy genres. Sequels have an extremely high chance of winning. Disney and Nick movies gets a free ticket into this category and can get around the aforementioned rules. - Best actor/actress will always be won by the same person more than once. - Video games depend on number of commercials and require an E rating (T rating can get nominated). There are probably other rules but I stopped caring before they added Video Games as a category. - While it's obvious that the iconic status of "slime" has declined to a completely insignificant point, KCA will completely deny this and act as if "slime" is still the beloved icon it was in the 90s. -The same celebrities appear every time and none of them seem like they should be anywhere near an event like this.
"While the 12yo w/ mic" may seem very common in many of the M-rated games we play, and MW2 is basically designed to be a 12-year old's wet dream, keep in mind that most of the people who vote in the KCA are much younger, and they're also more likely to get the fraction of 12 and 13-year olds who don't play M-rated games. I wouldn't expect anything with a rating higher than T to be advertised on most kids' channels, and as I said the advertisements are what really gets the Kid's choice. Also you "You watched stupid stuff when you were a kid too" people are forgetting the producer's side of the field. Networks go for whatever is cheap to air and will get good feedback (Which depends on much more than just the quality of the show.) Many networks can get away with things they couldn't in the past decades because they've established a name for themselves and viewers trust that the networks will provide what they demand. Yes all kids from all time periods are capable of enjoying stupid stuff. But they aren't the ones who are making these shows or demanding that the Nickelodeon do things differently. Nickelodeon does whatever benefits it most, regardless of what people may think. Why do you think Spongebob's been around so long?
guys, its KIDS choice, KIDS. they are small children who make the selections So dont panic
The winners I know of: Mario Kart UP! Black Eyed Peas Spongebob American Idol (know of it anyway) Christmas Carol Jim Carrey Miley Cyrus (now a whore. Her parents must be proud) As for the rest, who the fuck are they?
I used to love KCA as a kid, dont get me wrong. But the appeal has been lost long ago with all these new cartoons that aren't exactly funny at all. In my opinion, the only thing good with Nick today is Spongebob.
- While it's obvious that the iconic status of "slime" has declined to a completely insignificant point, KCA will completely deny this and act as if "slime" is still the beloved icon it was in the 90s.
Sad truth. I remember around christmas time, one of the things I wanted was the "Slime" you could buy at walmart. It wasn't green, but it was very, very fun to play with. I don't like the direction Nick has gone. But I have to accept it. If I don't, ill become the uncool adult who is scoffed at by the kids in every cartoon and movie on there. Now who wants to become that?
How "They" become.
oh god kids have a different opinion from me THEY MUST BE SLAUGHTERED settle down. the keyword here is KIDS choice awards
Well there's your problem right there.
Well there's your problem right there.
Well, I think that kids should just be exposed to better things is all. I just don't like modern pop culture. That being said, modern cartoons aren't always bad, take Invader Zim for example.
I honestly feel sorry for the youth today. Especially the ignorant ones. I wonder how some of the smarter children today survive.
The only good cartoon, targeted at younger audiences in the last few years, was Avatar: the Last Air Bender.
guys, its KIDS choice, KIDS. they are small children who make the selections So dont panic
Than how can you explain this!
