I own a cop radar, and yes it works. I actually found it in my glove-box after a guy sold me his car. I'm not going to vouch that it will work 100% of the time, but it has gone off multiple times with police officers nearby.
I just refuse to use it, because it feels wrong to use. If a cop catches me speeding, fair game. The type of speeding a cop will catch me doing isn't anything as extreme as these guys, it'll just be around 10 mph over the limit anyway.
