My stuff is gone it would do no good.
Don't be a fucking moron and sue them
LOL
Sue them for gods sake; it was not legal for them to do this; you can either get a shit ton of money for their screw up; or have them do the paper work in contacting and retrieving as many items as they can.
Epic fucking fail.
Sue their pants off.
Then their balls. That'll definitely teach them. I'm serious though, that's illegal, they have to give you notice in the first place... usually a month before hand.
Lawsuit!

and reimbursing you for the item's that they cant get back
I never trusted those storage unit establishments, that's why I just leave my junk in the attic.
I'd try to be more helpful, but it seems like everyone else has giving you all the best answers.
sue them
don't be a puss puss
Wow who uses storage units I bury all my stuff in chests in the ground.
In a storage unit near my house they found a bunch of barrels filled with dead bodies. Like, seven or something. A lot, at any rate. The bodies had been there for something like ten years, so really it's actually a very strong endorsement towards the privacy and security of your belongings for the storage company. Probably was good for business. I'd keep my things there, for what it's worth.
this is why I live in my storage unit
that's fucked up shit
if I found out that happened to me I would go apeshit
I hope you get a fuckton of money out of that lawsuit, dude
this is why I live in my storage unit
My storage unit was lost and I have no idea where I am right now.
[editline]21st March 2011[/editline]
I don't even know how they lost my storage unit.
On second thought this probably isn't my storage unit.
this is why I live in my storage unit
I imagine it's better than those igloos you guys live in.
Hey man, I feel your pain. I hope everything works out for ya.
Sue them for:
Mental anguish
Theft
Cancer???
[editline]21st March 2011[/editline]
Anything you can possibly conceive
this is why I live in my storage unit
A bunch of homeless guys live out of a storage unit behind the local Quik Trip. I guess they're not technically homeless, since they have the storage unit, but they are filthy, unshaven, and rarely wear seasonally appropriate clothing, so I suppose they're homeless enough to be called that. They beg in front of the Quik Trip in shifts. There's this one fellow who wears an eyepatch and has a three-legged dog who always gets the big payouts because he uses the dog as a sympathy card.
I imagine there's some tension under their corrugated roof because he seems the sort to brag to his homeless buddies about his higher earnings.

I just realized that the most interesting part of my hometown is the U-Store-It. They're having barrels of fun.
What are these storage units anyways? This is the first place I've even heard about it.

Yeah that one is me
What are these storage units anyways? This is the first place I've even heard about it.
a place where you store yu gi oh cards, mountain bikes and pictures
If you have the proper paper trail with dated receipts and proof that you followed your contract, and made your payments on time, then you have more than enough to take action against them.
I strongly recommend doing it as soon as possible. The more you wait, the more of a chance they will get to take action to their defense and come up with a BS excuse.
I've really just given up on many things to be honest I'm having such a hard time getting by right now.
get the cops on their asses so this doesn't happen to anyone else
I wonder what the guy who bought your baby photos is doing with them.
Sorry but I'm going to call bullshit.
OP claims he's lost his stuff in the unit, but yet he doesn't want to sue them because "It's too late".
Prove me wrong, but I can smell something sinister about this thread.
I wonder what the guy who bought your baby photos is doing with them.
And this. Someone wouldn't really buy baby photos, unless you lived in Texas.
This is shit to hear, Really shit. You said you're suing, so best of luck to you.

If these guys can trust U-Haul with five time machines, so can you.
Hopefully this doesn't happen to the storage unit my dad has waiting for me where he lives, it's full of tons of old comic books and stuff like that (action figures and shit) that were worth about 5000 like 15 years ago, and even that was based off a book 20 years old. :ohdear:
We can help you get it back :3
Fuck them up, bro
What are these storage units anyways? This is the first place I've even heard about it.
It's basically some storage space you hire for when you, say, need to temporarily store some stuff because you don't have room for it right now.

Lot of people without garage space use them for storing their ATVs in the winter and shit too, you can even rent ones here big enough to drive a boat trailer into.
They got big in my town recently, some guy opened up one storage complex and in the span of two years he had 3 of them around town. Probably a very rich man now.
