It's a bad thing. A very bad thing. Friday nights are where TV shows go to die.
Wow, nbc really wants Community to die...
Are the NBC execs just pants-on-head retarded? They seem to be completely incapable of getting highly praised shows any sort of viewership, and then attempt to cancel them right away. It happened with Chuck three times. Three times the fans said "No, don't you fucking dare". Same with Conan
uh I know youre a big fan, but community doesn't have very high ratings, and it has been going downhill lately I like the show and I hope they dont pull it, but it wouldn't surprise me to see it go
don't talk bad about community pls
Every show has to come to an end at some point, I guess. I hope Community at least sticks around for another season.

It's overall less funny because of the new dramatic elements sure, but the humour is the same and the drama is handled very effectively. It's changed, definitely, but I don't think it's necessarily for the worse.
are you seriously going to tell me that season 2 isn't any better than season 3?
SIX SEASONS AND A MOVIE! [editline]as[/editline] please [editline]as[/editline] :(
are you seriously going to tell me that season 2 isn't any better than season 3?
Well no, because season 2 was absolutely brilliant. But season 3 hasn't gone downhill over the course of its run like a lot of people say, and it's still an excellent show, regardless of if it's as good as season 2 or not.
Season 3 has been leagues better than the first season, which didn't get into its groove until very late. I just wish there were more episodes in class.
I like how there's a complex storyline with character development and other things going on in the mix now. Season 1 and Season 3 aren't any better than the other, they're just both very different from one another.

I watch them for the funny parts and then watch drama shows for the drama.
I hate that in sitcoms. I watch them for the funny parts and then watch drama shows for the drama.
Comedy shows get very stale very fast without character development.
I don't recall a lot of character development in Seinfeld.
I don't recall a lot of character development in Seinfeld.
and that got really dull now didn't it community would fail if it was all haha fart jokes and chevy being childish, this show is balancing PERFECTLY, and if you do not believe that than maybe you should watch seinfield and lyfao all day.
you shut your mouth Seinfeld was great all the way through

good cause yours is wrong

But, I could say the same for It's Always Sunny where it's just really easy to watch again and get hooked up.
good cause yours is wrong
lets have no charaacter development in ANY tv shows because it works for a brainless one like seinfield. honestly how many years has that show been running, i don't think anybody gives a fuck about whether or not they have character development, as long as they get their LOL HES SCREAMING AT SOMEBODY SO FUNNY moments, they won't bitch. community is a show that NEEDS it, the characters are very emotional and humouros at the same time, and you honestly think we're gonna give halfashit what happens to the characters unless they go into detail about them? I didn't care for troy the first few episodes as he seemed like a player and an asshole jock, and now whenever he comes up on screen I can't help but feel a little sympathy. if you feel any sort of emotion besides humor towards seinfield you are 100% bullshitting because they don't develop the characters at all.
lets have no charaacter development in ANY tv shows because it works for a brainless one like seinfield.
Community doesn't even have very good development, the characters haven't improved at all, they've gotten worse. They used to have qualities that made them human early on but now they're just walking quirks. Seinfeld found the spot of what was funny and kept to it. At the very least it stayed consistent.

Also, a comedy doesn't have to have serious dramatic moments to be smart. And Seinfeld is not a brainless sitcom at all, it's a great show that kept doing what it was best at, which is being funny.
Everyone is going to have different opinions. Arguing about them is immature and there's no point to it because someone's opinion is not going to change because you tell them to. Anyone else psyched to see what happens in tonight's episode?
