But how would they respond when Abed says where is he and such, just deny that it isn't Pierce? "Where's Pierce?" "What do you mean Abed, he's sitting right there?" Bill: "Yeah Abed, right here!"
I think it would be more like all of the cast noticing Pierce looking different, but then Abed would make a reference to a TV show that changed actors for a character (like Darrin from Bewitched), and everyone would dismiss the notion thinking it's just Abed being Abed.

The more prominently the Dean is featured, the worse the show becomes.
The dean was better when he was just a supporting character
In all honesty though I kind of feel bad for them - A Hunger Games themed episode would have been super relevant had Community been released in October like originally intended - now it's just dated and kitsch because its 4 months later and the hype has died down
He's fine as a supporting character - but he has no depth whatsoever. Trying to make him a main character and put the spotlight on him just leads to incredibly shallow, boring episodes.

i can sorta see this season getting better as it goes along, plus it's pretty much gonna get renewed or an extended season + another season if it doesn't do absolutely horribly because NBC has such terrible ratings on a lot of their shows right now

This episode is pretty bad so far. Doesn't even seem like the same show.
Hoping the season picks up after this episode, I feel like that was the case with the last season as well.
The first episode of last season was fairly slow too.
The only thing I liked from this episode was [sp]different Pierce in Abed's mind, seems like they can really pull of changing actor for real[/sp]
I was looking forward to the long version of the normal intro but it was ruined a bit. Maybe next week...

This episode was definitely the worst of the season so far.

Think you guys are overreacting and were too hyped for this.
It's just like when it came back from the hiatus. It wasn't a horrible deturpation of what Community stood for, it's an OK Community episode. I have hopes that the season will take off and be just as good as the other episodes, maybe even better.
I thought the writing felt forced compared to normally and Abed TV was just really annoying to me.
I wasn't hyped at all, I knew it would drop off.

I'm going to keep watching it on the off chance that it's just starting slow, but realistically, it's never going to be as good as it was.
It just felt really uneasy, and the humour style... well...
