I quite liked the new episode. It wasn't great by any means, but there were still funny parts.
I didn't even notice that those little commercials that popped up during the Abed TV bits were fake, I just ignored them.
I agree about the dean though, I really don't like him when he's pushed forward.
They depicted Abed really poorly. He's supposed to be quirky, not completely insane. Part of Community's charm was the subtlety while still being able to drive the point home, and this episode was completely missing the subtlety.

You realize they brought in the insane Abed stuff in season 3 right?
Anyways, the episode was okay, not amazing but alright. I thought that opening in the Abed TV thing was a nice little meta joke about the new showrunners ruining Community. It just feels a bit like they wanted to make that joke but then needed to work a plot element off of it. Since that's most likely what it was, I think they handled it as best as they could, considering. The Troy and Britta thing was so strange an unimportant and... short. It felt like it was just shoehorned in to say "HEY. THESE GUYS ARE TOGETHER NOW. LOOK AT THEM," which is something we already knew from the entirety of season 3, especially the finale. I think it will get better, especially if it's true that the actors were more vocal about jokes to preserve their characters and not have them be changed by the new showrunners. Overall, not amazing but it has potential to get better.
Suggest you all read through the AMA with the writers. Some interesting answers, and they're being very honest: http://www.reddit.com/r/community/comments/181irk/we_are_the_writing_staff_of_nbcs_community_ama/
Tonights episode was a lot better than last weeks.
But it still was lacking some humor. Actually, I don't recall laughing even once.
Now that episode was way more like it, I had a few good laughs.
I stopped watching this show halfway through season 3 because I hated how much the characters had changed. Is it worth picking up again or no?
I loved seasons 1 and 2, though
It's worth giving a try I guess, though the characters are a lot different so far than they were in Season 3, at least in my opinion.
Good episode? The Dean was hardly involved at all?
Yes.
Minimizing Chang and Dean appearances does tend to make episodes better.
See? I told you guys you were overreacting.

The other episode was still bad, I stand by that, if anything this proved my point about the Dean

Well, that sounds promising.
Can't wait to see if it's just an exaggeration or see how bad it is.
I suppose this episode will have an extra layer if you're a Who fan.
Not too bad actually. Not as good as last weeks but still better than the first episode this season.
Felt a bit all over the place though, not as focused as it should have been.
It's really weird when Pierce is the comedic relief for this show. And best part of an episode.
This episode seemed really weird. It wasn't bad, I got a few laughs, but it didn't seem like Community at all.
In america can you not get creme eggs all year round?
I can never find creme eggs except during Easter, and even then they taste different than European ones.
Personally I thought this episode was really good, but what's with setting up cliffhangers then not resolving them? First Chang, now Jeff calling his dad.
Are the episodes being aired out of order?

This episode was meant to be fourth of this season (which explains room 404)

lol, I guess that's why they completely ignored Jeff calling his dad
Goddammit, this show is insanely popular here in the Netherlands and it's getting ruined by the American tv network.
it's the last season, so they probably want to completely finish things up
Who said it's definitely the last
I don't see a fifth season happening but I really think they should get one because of the way they were screwed with season four.
I think it could be quite possible they get a 5th season. I'm not American or anything but I always read online about people saying that NBC has literally no other shows to get views since The Office is ending and all. Parks & Recreation will probably get renewed again too
I've only just finished season 3 (And loved it). But has anyone noticed how fantastic the visual effects in the show are?
Especially the Virtual Reality episode. I was pretty surprised seeing as it's a sitcom.
