Silly peasants, they have no idea about the plans I have in store for them.
Alas, this is not an erotic tale about your favorite Russian president.

Drat.
There was a good video about who exactly he is and what exactly he's done for Russia and things, but I can't find it at all. It was a news report from somewhere in eastern Europe (Probably Russia) in English about him.
What people like about Putin is, though most of us are unaware of the merits of his policies, the fact that he, as a person, exudes a kind of strength. He's intimidating, he's unafraid to get his hands dirty, and he's cocky about it, too. He's like an action movie hero turned politician, and because of that he's the subject of amusement to people.
Russia has never had anything close to a democracy ever, so IMO the fact that he's a bit of an autocrat is kind of balanced out when you consider the situation and that his government basically kept Russia afloat.

Apart from a month or two between the Tsar being told to bugger off and the Bolsheviks deciding they'd rather like to govern the entire country themselves thanks.
That was kind of close to becoming a democracy, but it was still comprised of appointed sorts so really the last couple of decades have been the first of a democratically elected government.
You'll have to ask one of the Forum Communists for a better explaination. Somebody get Wakka.
Fuck him, he wanted the school history textbooks to be changed that are more "patriotic". One of the textbooks doesn't include the Winter War, The Chechen Wars, Tried to justify the annexation of the Baltic States, and best of all it tried to put Stalin in a better light.
The forum communists will agree... funnily enough the Bolsheviks had a very small role in any of the revolutions.
:allears:
Because teenagers love Russia and Putin is good at PR (when he's not having dissident journalists murdered)

It's the same mentality as the stupid CheGuevera Tshirts.
He's got the air of a Bond villain.

That's just because he looks good on a T-shirt
That's just because he looks good on a T-shirt
Nation Event!
A journalist known for his radical criticism has published material
strongly critiquing you and your government. This has caused the general
population's dissent to rise and more people are encouraged to rise up against you.
If this goes on, common population might go completely against you, and even worse. Revolt.
What do you do?
Option 1#: Assasinate the journalist (public dissent -2.00%, relations with UK -5,00%, relations with European Union -3,50%)
Option 2#: Assasinate the journalist (see effects of this in option 1#)
Option 3#: See Option 2#

Hetero by day
Gay for putin by night
he's just dreamy
Every image that comes out with him is propaganda to make him look strong and badass, which is the most convincing appeal to people on here.
He is a god damn neo-communist, who has a huge boner for the USSR, and all the blood running into his dick has made him forget about the shitty things the commies have done (like 90% of what they did).
Putin for Texas School Board president 2012
oh god, this.
I'd move to Texas. It's only a state away.
