They literally opened up the stomach and they said he was full. He even had meat in his mouth still.
the plot hole with this show (probably been mentioned) is why don't they just wear their zombie gore disguises whenever they're going to be near zombies at any point
logically, of course. that's not a dramatic question
If you cover yourself in zombie guts there's a high chance of infection, even if you sneak around the zombies?

The bite killed him, yes. So?
He got bit on the arm.
Yea, totally a bite on the arm will fucking kill you.
And don't say infection because infection takes days or even weeks to kill you.

A bite can kill you, but the bite isn't what turns you into a zombie, death is.

Infection doesn't kill you. Right about this time in the comics it was stated that everyone is infected. Death by any means will turn you into a zombie(unless your brain is destroyed). A bite is deadly, not sure what makes the bite deadly but it is.
What a BS excuse to add some drama.
The whole "you have the virus no matter what" is such a copout and goes against all that is holy in zombie fiction.

Maybe they changed it for tv, but it doesn't bother me that much. I personally get annoyed in video games when there's a zombie apocalypse and you're magically the only one immune to it.
I assume its just bacteria that evolved so when you die the bacteria that was on you enters your body and then restarts your brain.
Zombies are like lions: if they’ve eaten, you can walk by them without fear, but a pack of hungry zombies will attack you.
That doesn't make that much sense. The reason a zombie would want to bite someone is to infect them more then it is to feed himself since biting is there form of reproduction.
Zombies are not dexterous. They cannot pick up or use any items more complex than a rock or a stick.
The real question is how did they know to pick up the rock in the first place is using tools like that takes some pretty good brain power, especially when that one zombie used it to break glass.
Zombies have poor eyesight but they do have a strong sense of smell.
better then a humans? I wonder how.
Also i'm surprised the sickness only spreads to humans since any other animal would be easier to spread the disease to and most diseases go to more then one species of animal also having packs of wolf zombies would just be awesome.

.....Reproduce? really. it was said in the s1 finale that they only have mindless insticts and shit. aka thing bad must defend
.....Reproduce? really. it was said in the s1 finale that they only have mindless insticts and shit. aka thing bad must defend
There isn't a stronger instinct then to reproduce.

The only zombie fiction I'd consider "holy" would be George Romero's films, and they have this same concept. Anyone who dies in the Dead movies with an intact brain stem reanimates.
My friend recently made a website to watch shows and movies on and it has all the walking dead episodes so I guess I will give a plug http://themovierepo.com/category/tvshows/horror-tvshows/thewalkingdead/
That doesn't make that much sense. The reason a zombie would want to bite someone is to infect them more then it is to feed himself since biting is there form of reproduction.
No, that's the reason a zombie wants to bite people in other zombie fiction. You forget that this does not follow the Romero rules. Feeding is just as much of a base instinct as reproduction. And humans don't reproduce by biting, so feeding seems to be the reason they bite people.
Also i'm surprised the sickness only spreads to humans since any other animal would be easier to spread the disease to and most diseases go to more then one species of animal also having packs of wolf zombies would just be awesome.
It's not surprising at all. Diseases jumping from one species to another are extremely rare. Maybe monkey zombies are possible, but it wouldn't go farther than that.
It's not the zombie that's reproducing though, in a sense it's really the virus. So in a way, the virus causing the zombified person to want to eat anything that moves is in effect allowing the virus to reproduce because of the way it's communicated, but the zombie wouldn't be thinking consciously to infect people, it just wants to chow the fuck down.

Airbone virus, ever heard of it? It's not explained in the comics (not to my knowledge), but it's hardly a cop-out when one of the most famous movie that most Zombie-Fiction fanatics refer to has it imbedded in it's series.
The same way blind people can smell better than us normal people.
The church thing was kinda silly, I don't really see how three people who were bitten could have died and reanimated at the exact same time, as none of them seemed to have grabbed a bite of each other. There's no other reason they could have been sitting down, though.
It does make some sense, i thought they still have some 'memories' of their past life so they were just doing something they used to do all the time.

The virus doesn't need to reproduce, it's airborne.

It is basically explained in the comics when [sp]several dead humans come back as zombies, who have not been bitten. Remember how Rick went and found Shane's body just to let him rest?[/sp]

We also have to think about the virus (or bacteria) here. It would be better for it to bite no matter what and it just doesn't make sense for its behavior to evolve in a way thats not beneficial to it.

I was more or less referring to that.
Issue 90 spoiler: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29199040/wd_spoiler.jpg
I kind of expected that since Rick kept talking to [sp]Andrea[/sp] about his personal thoughts in the past issues.
Issue 90 is the latest one?
[sp]Expected that ever since Dale died[/sp]
Yea, it's the latest one.

2. Blood doesn't turn anyone into a zombie. A bite wont turn you into a zombie. Everyone is infected, you just turn when you die.
We don't know this, though. There was speculation that this was what that whisper was about, but it hasn't been confirmed yet, and I doubt it will for awhile (there was an equal amount of speculation that Lori was pregnant, too) You can't make that kind of a statement yet.

Right, except the show is supposed to be going in quite a different direction to the comics, and has several significant deviations.
Also, can you put this shit in spoiler tags? You were insistent in the Dexter thread that people do that for you, so you could do the same for people who are planning to read the comics, or don't want potential TV spoilers (if they do choose to go that way).

Yeah because totally its not obvious when you die you turn into a zombie right
EDIT: Ninja'd
Yeah because totally its not obvious when you die you turn into a zombie right
No, it's not. All the people on the show who have become a zombie have done so after they've been bitten/eaten. To go from that > everyone is infected, and will turn into a zombie at death no matter what is a significant leap, and one that changes the entire game.
My friend and I just got into this last night. It's a really good show
