Shane was pretty damn good in this episode but [sp]the whole Sophia thing is just pissing me off now. Both Sophia and her Mother seem pointless boring characters.[/sp]
I think it would be better if [sp]he ran the other direction shooting them and causing noise. If he got killed then that would give Otis more time and he owes him his life.[/sp]
I like it how he killed the fat bastard. And neither of them could run too well, so he thought he'd save himself some time by allowing the zombies to kill/eat the fat man. Brutal shit.
[sp]Otis was slowing them down, he couldn't keep up and thus the breathers every once in a while. Plus, if they just drove away, the zombies would keep on following them until they hit the farm.[/sp]
The more I think about it, the more I realize that [sp]Shane didn't freak out because Otis was slowing them down. Shane was moving only as fast as Otis by that point. It's that Shane realized NEITHER of them could make it without a distraction for the zombies. So it wasn't about who could move faster, it was about using one of them as a lure while the other one hobbles away. Thats why he didn't shoot Otis in the head, he needed a live noisy lure. He needed Otis to squirm, cry, scream, whatever so that as many zombies as possible would go to him. Shane didn't do it out of irrational fear, he did it in cold, calculated thought.[/sp]
So is shane going to become some ridiculous pantomime villain now Pretty bad episode in a so far pretty terrible season
That last episode was awesome.
Something tells me [sp]Shane will die right before the split. Considering that he seems to now be insane, I bet Carl will still end up shooting him in defending Rick. What a neat cliffhanger that would be.[/sp]
I wouldn't call Shane insane.
I wouldn't call Shane insane.
I'd say desperate.
When I first saw [sp]the mark on Shane head, I thought he had been bitten. That would have been pretty crazy[/sp]
Rate me clocks as I'm probably late, but it's starting to look more likely that what Jenner said to Rick at the end of season one [sp]has something to do with everyone already being infected[/sp]. From the look rick had when Lori was talking about Carl kind of hints towards him knowing something pretty awful, but not being able to explain why. I don't know, but I just figure that this would be a pretty decent way to tie that whole thing in, considering [sp]we may not see someone die of normal causes any time soon[/sp].
I hate that I can't read any of the spoiler tags from the episodes I've already watched because some people decide to spoil major future plot points from the comics without any warning. Assholes.
I don't think shane [sp]killed otis in cold blood, as someone said before at that point neither of them could move faster than the other. Shane made a quick decision without thinking it through. Yes maybe there could have been another way but at that point he knew at their rate the zombies would catch up and eat them both, along with the pressure of having the responsibility to save your best friends sons life with much needed equipment. I can tell the look on his face was nothing but regret for what he did after he showed up at the farm house, and chances are even after leaving otis as a distraction walkers followed him.[/sp] I don't see why you people keep complaining about [sp]sophia, the last 3 episodes have been within 2 days. I like knowing that they might stumble upon her half eaten body in the middle of a swamp, or that other survivors found her.[/sp] The first season was really focused only on rick and his family plus shane, the new season just started so there is plenty of time for more character development and [sp]her daughter being lost[/sp] is just starting to get into it.

Regarding Sophia...I wonder if she's being looked after by Tyreese, Chris & Julie?
When Shane said, [sp] "I'm sorry." I knew he was going to shoot him. I don't blame him though; in fact, I support what he did. He was backed up against a fence and he did what he had to do. [/sp]

Every scene of them looking for the girl could be removed and you'd still have everything you had before; that's not good writing. You want to write a story like a circle, if you remove any part of the circle, the whole thing falls apart. Sophia going missing provided the scenario of Carl being shot, but past that nothing else has come from the story arc. I would also say that it's kept the rest of the group on the highway, but nothing has happened whatsoever on the highway since the premiere so it's just been boring. By the end of the third episode, [sp]Carl should have been conscious, the girl found dead or alive, and the rest of the group moved into respite with the farmhouse[/sp], at least. The Sohpia arc isn't the only part to suffer from slow pace though. [sp]Lori and Rick discussing the world they were in and the pros of letting Carl live could have been left to one scene.[/sp] That could have made room for something extra in the Sophia arc, showing Daryl or Andrea discovering something more interesting or threatening [sp]than a zombie hung in a tree.[/sp] That scene by the way, could have been far more substantial in terms of character development, but instead all it did was result in [sp]the loss of an arrow.[/sp] Oh, and calling attention to that fact themselves (Daryl about the arrow,) doesn't make the scene automatically okay.
You have to keep in mind that the crew had to film twice the episodes with half the budget, so while it is unfortunate, it is understandable as to why episodes are dragging along in the same areas.
When I first saw [sp]the mark on Shane head, I thought he had been bitten. That would have been pretty crazy[/sp]
[sp]I thought, seeing as he had no bites anywhere and the wound looked infected, there was going to be some sort of game changing new way to get infected.[/sp] Which would have also been pretty cool.
Don't watch if you haven't seen last week's episode yet:

Take that as you will.
He's a really good actor, but then again he is an actor
I have a feeling that the little girl was taken by that Merl guy from last season.
Oh man, I can't believe that only like 5% of the people who watch this have read even one of the comics. [editline]27th October 2011[/editline] They shit on the TV series, by the way. Outstanding Character Development.
What's your point - we can't enjoy the show without reading the comics?
I honestly can't stand the dialog that much. It does feel a bit unnatural, sometimes crazy. But I like what they did with Shane. Also, I can't believe Sophia got lost. They couldn't have been that far from road.
I have a strong urge to skip any dialogue between Rick and his wife because it's so boring and cheesy.
I have a strong urge to skip any dialogue between Rick and his wife because it's so boring and cheesy.
this series needs less drama between them and more zombies
I have a strong urge to skip any dialogue between Rick and his wife because it's so boring and cheesy.
All of Rick's and Shane's conversations are super cheesy as well. Rick is also a really boring character, he's just the good guy. Shane is more like, shades of gray.
All of the characters are absolutely terrible except Dale, Daryl and Glenn (they don't use him much anymore sadly.) Otis was one of the better ones too.
Yeah, I'd say this season is starting off pretty weak. I'm all for a slow burn, but there is like virtually nothing going on in the scenes without zombies. Hopefully things start to pick up now. I'm getting tired of seeing characters sitting around crying.
I have a strong urge to skip any dialogue between Rick and his wife because it's so boring and cheesy.
This. So fucking much. I know this show isn't supposed to just be about running and gunning zombies, but holy hell sometimes it feels like all that's happening is just people repetitively breaking down into tears over everything and having long boring speeches about it.
Glenn is awesome in the comic but he practically doesn't exist in season 2 [editline]1st November 2011[/editline]
Yeah, I'd say this season is starting off pretty weak.
