spoilers
ive read the comic but ummm thats a pretty decent spoiler
I just hope they decide to leave the farm in the next episode.
more like they'll get kicked out
ive read the comic but ummm thats a pretty decent spoiler
It doesn't say what happened to Sophia. [editline]8th December 2011[/editline]
more like they'll get kicked out
Shane will kill Hershel first :V
Shane doesn't mind leaving, he suggested leaving to Rick. Rick is the one who told him they HAVE to stay at the farm. [sp]That's why the next thing Shane does is clean out the barn.[/sp] So if Herschel kicks them out Shane won't give a crap. Rick would be the one to tell Shane they can't leave and need to 'convince' Herschel to let them stay.
[sp]I'll rage if the TV show makes Duane into a zombie as well.[/sp] Him and Carl could be such bro's since Sophia is gone. Then kill off Shane and replace him with Morgan.
The possibility suddenly dawned on me that if Morgan ever gets reintroduced, he'd likely take over Tyreese's spot. I wouldn't say that they're the same, but it wouldn't surprise me at all that the two characters were consolidated to make a composite of protective black father guy. Still, if the series wants to vaguely follow the comics, it's kind of early for him to come back (although they wouldn't need to head all the way back up to Kentucky in the show to find them, apparently Rick lived in Georgia). I'm fairly sure that winter will get here in Season 3, and then it would be a perfect spot to insert Tyreese and his peeps, Michonne, or this mysterious new guy that they just announced. On another note, does it even snow very much in Georgia?
they wouldn't hire more black guys, they'd just have T-dog wear a wig or something, so he could be 2 characters at once actually he could grow a beard and be tyreese too

In fact, last winter we got quite a lot of snow for the Atlanta area. I'm just so happy the plot has moved along. I'm usually the one to love character development, but it's all been a lot of dramatic expressions and Shane's usual threatening one liners. Hopefully come February they'll be on the move and make progress. The biggest thing I don't get is why they'd be so determined to get to Ft. Benning. Sure, there's the whole broadcasts of it being a safe zone, but if that were the case and they truly believed that then why wouldn't Rick be just as motivated to get them there quickly before Laurie gets any more further along? In my opinion I think he deep down knows it's a lost cause (The military pulled out); but from what I've heard they finally do start heading there for the sake of weapons and shelter. Which that alone is kind of silly because Ft. Gillem is right outside of Atlanta, and would definitely be easier to get to.
I don't remember the first season too fluently, so felt out of the loop this season. I'll have to watch em all again before it starts up again in Feb.
The biggest thing I don't get is why they'd be so determined to get to Ft. Benning.
If I was in that situation, the only way someone could sell me on going to a place like Ft. Benning is because it's the closest place that is likely to have official support(government, military, etc). In other words "Let's go to Ft. Benning because if the army is still functional that'd be where they stage from in this area."- then I'd say it's worth a shot. If it's just random, because everyone has heard of Ft. Benning, there's no reason to go there. I'd like to know how often there is air traffic in that area. Here where I live there are planes and helicopters passing over within hearing or visual distance EVERY day. If a zombie apocalypse hit and I didn't see any aircraft for a week= shit's over, we're on our own.

I'm pretty sure they're going to turn up.

Benning itself is an Infantry base which would most likely be a military staging area, but Ft. Gillem is closer in the show, and much more easily fortified since it houses newer and more state of the art laboratories and other buildings. Once they do get to Ft. Benning and obviously find out that the place is gone they won't be able to stay there for very long because of how large of an area to defend it is.
Well, in your opinion if you were them where do you think any army guys would go first, Benning or Gillem? This question is because I don't think they're looking for a base to fortify, they are looking for help. They want to go where there are lots of people defending an area. Gillem might be a better choice for practical reasons, but Benning might be the first choice that pops into people's minds.

The farm thing is falling through though, he knew that they weren't going to be able to stay there, especially once Herschel found out that everyone knew about the walkers in the barn. So why not make haste to Benning where there might be much better conditions, especially medically for his wife's sake? I think Rick knows that Benning is a shot in the dark and has been most likely abandoned; because if it were that important to get to the complete safety of a heavily armed and well guarded base they would have left the farm once Carl and Daryl recovered. So assuming that Rick has high doubts about Benning I don't see why he doesn't think to try for Gillem for it's easier defense. If you live in the North GA area just about everyone knows every single base there since they were sort of used as landmarks for directions. Plus another benefit of Gillem is that it's withing a reasonable distance to downtown Atlanta which makes for good scavenging, but it's also fairly close to rural lands for farming.
^Didn't they bring up farming in the last episode?
I'm looking forward to the conflicts in the next episode, seem like they'll be a bit more interesting than "hurr our son's shot let him die it's what he wants. NO, he talked about DEER!" and "god damn it Dale leave me alone I want to use a gun. But I care for you. jesus christ no you old bearded fart I want my gun to shoot things and nearly kill good characters why does nobody understand me". I'd love to see how Hershel will react to the whole barn thing, and if they're being forced to move I wonder what will happen to Maggie and the asian portal guy.
I predict Herschel will get all resentful and not want to talk to anyone. He might even barricade himself in his house. What if he has explosives in there and blows the whole thing up? Then everyone has to leave.
All I know is Dale will make more funny faces.
I only have two words for the next episode: Prison Arc
Oh god, those webisodes made me sad :smith:
Oh god, those webisodes made me sad :smith:
I know, that acting was enough to bring anyone to tears. FINALLY up to date with the comics volumes-wise, just in time for the next one at the end of the month.
Oh god, those webisodes made me sad :smith:
I didn't, because every character that died, died from being stupid. [sp]Hurrhurr, Imma check out this basement without a weapon even tough I have two firearms which I left with my ex-wife and children who can't shoot for shit[/sp]
Morgan? Tyreese? T-Dog? Who is this new black guy? he just strolls along and shoots at our favorite asian.
Comic semi-Spoilers up until roughly issue 60ish [sp]I still think that it's easily possible that the Hunters storyline is going to come slightly earlier, culminating in either the Prison or Woodbury, given the helicopter that showed up in one of the first Season 2 previews. Also, the presence of that church really makes me suspicious.[/sp]
Finished reading the comics [sp]Does it just end up like that? Everyone gets eaten, Carl gets shot and that's it?[/sp] [sp]Overall the comic was amazing, but I didn't like the fact that they just killed Lori with Judy and that Carl basically becomes a socially awkward maniac[/sp] [editline]21st December 2011[/editline] Nevermind, I was sure that the comic ended on issue 90 for some reason
