I don't think I'd watch the show if it was an exact replica of the comics, because I already know what's going to happen. Takes away from the suspense.
I'm not saying make an exact replica of the comic I just think that the approach they are taking on how the zombies react and handle themselves is completely different from the comics approach. I like the fact that they are bringing on new characters and developing some new plot points is great. Side note: I really don't like the way Lori is currently, she's a slut.
Loved this episode. Is it just me, or did anyone else try to make connections to L4D and L4D2?
My gf and I nearly threw up during the [sp]fire axe sequence[/sp] It was almost too excessive, I was literally gagging with the sound effects they added. Ugghh... I'm worried this show is just going to become a gore showcase more than a beautifully developed character study like the first episode was. It was the whole psychological aspect that got me into it originally.
The Axe scene wasn't that bad.

lol yeah because not being desensitized to horrific gore makes me a pussy. I love violent gory flicks. There was just something about that sequence that was gag worthy.
it wasnt even that bad. i mean it got on TV didn't it?
Just because it's on TV doesn't mean it isn't bad. It's cable programming, they can do pretty much whatever the fuck they want, they're not restricted like network television.
I hate them, I actually can't watch saw and hostel, it disgusts me. Yet I still found that scene tame.
Saw and Hostel are awful. I'm talking about violence and gore in general. Like most action movies, maybe even suspense like Silence of the Lambs. Hell, even Dawn of the Dead (the newer one). That's probably the closest I can equate a film to The Walking Dead. And that was a gory movie.

Also they didnt blindly cut zombies open just for the sake of doing it and 'showcasing' their gore, there was a reason and plot to it.
Why are we arguing, I don't hate this show, I'm a fan. All I said is I'm worried they become too caught up in the special effects aspect for the "FUCK YEAH GORE" crowd and lose what is seemingly making the show unique, the character development and psychological survival aspect of it being a real, believable situation.
No one is arguing broseph, we're just discussing.
If axe slices through wood when chopping, I am quite sure it would with a body too, unless it's made out of stone.
Axe doesn't slice through wood, it takes repeated hacks with a lot of force behind it to get through.
Axe doesn't slice through wood, it takes repeated hacks with a lot of force behind it to get through.
I've taken an axe to a pigs neck before. Took two swings to get all the way through.
By "after we all forget about him," you mean the next episode, right? :v:
I was thinking more of in season 2 [editline]8th November 2010[/editline]
If axe slices through wood when chopping, I am quite sure it would with a body too, unless it's made out of stone.
an axe splits wood, it doesn't slice through it.

But I did still feel bad for the half zombie lady on the 1st episode, so I'd say they're still doing a good job. And yes Lori is a dumb broad so far. The show must be doing extremely well.

Did anyone enjoy the second episode much more than the first? I know they were aiming for something more character developmenty/emotional in the first, but it just didn't connect with me.
I've taken an axe to a pigs neck before. Took two swings to get all the way through.
Your point being? The neck bone is much easier to split than a block of wood. [editline]8th November 2010[/editline]
Fuck yeah, Glenn! Anyone else bugged by the brick zombies at all?
The zombies aren't mindless in this show, they retain some of their human memories. For example the zombie starting to climb the ladder really slowly in ep2 the brick zombie the zombies climbing the fence the zombies trying to open the door using the doorknob in ep1

Its a zombie drama, There going be gore but it's not going be one them pointless gore only type movies/shows.

I thought this episode was a lot better, the ending was actually a good scene.
Let's hope the current amount of viewer stay, although I'm guessing it'll settle at around 3 - 3.5 mill per episode.
I thought this episode was a lot better, the ending was actually a good scene.
But it was such a cliff hanger. What happens to Glenn, where does he go? What happens to Rick, where do they plan on going? What happens to Racist Francis?
But it was such a cliff hanger. What happens to Glenn, where does he go? What happens to Rick, where do they plan on going? What happens to Racist Francis?
Well, according to IMDb, both Glenn and Francis will be back.
But it was such a cliff hanger. What happens to Glenn, where does he go? What happens to Rick, where do they plan on going? Episode 2 had some really cheesy directing and acting.
"When I find my wife and son, I will tell them about *thatdeadguy*", <- The most cheesy line.
