"When I find my wife and son, I will tell them about *THATDEADGUY*", <- The most cheesy line.
I don't remember anyone dying yet.
Its when he took the dead zombie's wallet and told them his name his stuff.
Its when he took the dead zombie's wallet and told them his name his stuff.
Ah, now it makes sense. I was thinking about the racist part for some odd reason.
Yes, sorry, can't remember the name.
I don't remember anyone dying yet.
he's talking about the corpse he hacked up. ninja
I actually said in his voice "and how I chopped him the fuck up!".
Did anyone enjoy the second episode much more than the first? I know they were aiming for something more character developmenty/emotional in the first, but it just didn't connect with me.
Exactly my feelings
I was thinking more of in season 2
Yeah, but he sticks with the group for almost the entire time, probably up until season 2 (for the most part anyway).
They did that to keep people watching the show and it works. The suspense of waiting for next week is what makes a good series great.
True but when it just ended so suddenly, I was left confused. Maybe because I was expecting it to be 1 hour and 30 minutes long like the premiere.
God I love this show. This episode was even better than the first. And for those who complain "Blah blah how wouldn't Rick know it's a Zombie Apocalypse the second he woke up?!" You do realize that in almost every show/movie/game about Zombies, Zombies don't actually exist in their cultural media. No one has ever even thought of the concept let alone even see one. That's why they're not as knowledgeable as us. I thought that was obvious. Besides, if you haven't noticed yet, no one in the show has even uttered the word "Zombie." That's because in their universe, Zombies never existed.
Is there any streaming site where I can watch this? Looks interesting.
This differs a fair bit from the comic, but in a good way.
And the end of the show they show what the plot of the next episode is. I reeeeaally wish they didn't do this.

"i dropped the damn key"
I'm quite surprised on how they were allowed to use the word [sp]nigger[/sp] on there more than once without the FCC being bitches nor worrying about people calling them racist. That's because in their universe, Zombies never existed.
I thought they did quite well with introducing him to the zombies. He didn't go "Oh shit, zombies!" but instead freaked out after finding a mangled corpse and moaning people behind a locked door that said "Don't open". He just tried to get out of there. I found it believable to be honest.
Besides, if you haven't noticed yet, no one in the show has even uttered the word "Zombie." That's because in their universe, Zombies never existed.
Comic info follows: [sp]They actually do end up calling them zombies... I believe it's during the prison arc of the story. They say it's hard to say it with a straight face, so I'm assuming zombies are known in their universe and that calling them by that name is some sort of horrible irony.[/sp] Thoughts on episode 2: I think it was good, a little change up from the comic. [sp]Adds some tension and leadership instead of Rick being easily walked to camp by Glenn.[/sp] The setup of remorse and guilt that Rick feels when killing the zombies is great for the contrast that will come. It will show us how the character changes by what needs to be done. [sp]Later, we will not even see him shed a tear over killing a person. He will do it gladly to keep his family safe.[/sp]
I must be the only one that didn't care so much for this episode. The first episode had real depth and emotion, now it suddenly feels like everything has become one-dimensional. The dialog was cliche and the characters felt archetypal, including Rick, which was really a shame. Maybe they're just showcasing some range. Go all emotion and human drama in the first episode, then switch it up and go action-suspense in the second. Whatever the case I'm still watching this show, but I hope they reel in their characters and dialog. "How's the signal" "Like Dixon's head, weak" :cringe:
ep2 spoiler content i bet the whole [sp]cover yourself in zombie guts thing[/sp] will never happen again and will just be conveniently forgotten next time a situation arises where that could save their asses. (like when scavenging)
filmed in atlanta BITCH

(like when scavenging)
[sp]It's strange, but I don't recall them using it further in the comic... however, they don't necessarily get into a spot where it would be the best option, and I think the zombies somehow evolve in nature over the course of the overall story. The herd, lurking behind the treeline until someone explores instead of coming out... stuff like that.[/sp]
I fucking love this series. That's all, carry on.
Just finished watching it... again, I found it "ok", nothing remarkable... maybe I need to see more of it. Why do they call zombies "geeks"?
"i dropped the damn key"
Hahahaa :v: IMHO Merle is the least believable character of the entire episode; I mean, you'd think if one finds himself in a situation like that, one'd forget about all kinds of racial stuff and one would try to stay alive, no matter what's the color of the guy who watches your back... Dunno, I don't really like that character, I just don't buy it [editline]8th November 2010[/editline] And apparently, on the third episode they're planning to go back for him... "He's not an animal", Glenn said...
Just finished watching it... again, I found it "ok", nothing remarkable... maybe I need to see more of it.
Eh, I agree. It's still pretty entertaining, but I don't think it matches up to AMCs other shows exluding Rubicon(fuck Rubicon). I'm waiting for that middle ground between the second episode and the first episode.
Why do they call zombies "geeks"?
Eh, just a name, no big deal. I'd rather they call them Zack like in WWZ.
Eh, just a name, no big deal. I'd rather they call them Zack like in WWZ.
Yeah I know, but geeks... :/
