In 28 days his room was locked (the key had been slid inside from underneath the door).
The Rage infected also had a VERY good sense of smell, so the only reason he survived was because he had been comatose, so he hadn't taken any deodorant etc.
Hmm must have missed that (if the infected have a very good sense of smell i'm pretty sure they would smell him regardless)
But how would a locked door with a big window stop them?

Probably just like in TWD, lured away from the hospital as it was being evacuated. They sleep in big piles (probably for warmth) anyway, so they just didn't decide to pile up in that specific building.
The sense of smell thing was in 28 Days Later: The Aftermath comic, where two survivors try to kill each other. The winner dumps shitloads of perfume on top of the other, and then he gets beaten up.
i'm sort of glad that they're changing things up from the comic otherwise it'll be too predictable. i still hate the fact that andrea is some old lady rather than a college student.
They do this a lot with media based off other media. Such as in Dexter, they didn't kill off LaGuerta in the television series, yet very much so did in the novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter, the first in the novel series. Many of the reasons is for longevity, or complications with plot devices. So it's kind of expected to follow the comic, but to add other plots as well.

If they pussy out on killing main characters then I'll be mad

The one thing we can look forward to confirming this is if by the end of this season, and I am judging this simply based on the speed of the show versus the speed of the comic, [sp]Shane isn't dead[/sp], then we might be looking forawrd to keeping some familiar faces.
i love it when the creator [sp]just throws some complete bullshit towards the survivors way that ends up killing more than half of them, and usually leaves only rick and his son and a few others alive.[/sp]
i didn't say they 'weren't like zombies' i said they weren't convincingly acted and i DIDN'T LIKE the sounds they made, not that the sounds didn't sound like zombies
read my posts GOSH
[editline]9th November 2010[/editline]
what is that nickname they call them in this show? geeks? why?
Hey dude maybe if you thought about it you might have learnt that just perhaps the actors were told to make those sounds, if you read my post this is why I specifically said you said they were not zombie-like, while it was not what you said word-per-word it was what your post was implicating (as to why you didn't like the sounds), my main point was that there is no definitive concept of what a zombie is, while there is a general idea it's entirely up to the writers and directors imagination, those sounds may not be due to bad acting they could simply be due to being told to do so.
Which if you look at it from that view the zombies do some pretty non-canon stuff, i.e seem to have basic memories, some can run (as in at different times, some walk slowly while others some to be able to move at full speed), some can use objects and weaponary to an extent, and others can interact with their enviroment i.e climbing a ladder. The point I'm putting across is that there was so much non-canon stuff that it's pretty easy to assume that the sounds and the like were also in conjuction with this image or concept of zombies the writers/director had in mind.

[sp]Thing is, the person, out of all of them, that I was sad to see die was Axel, or the only prisoner that lived if I got his name wrong. All the main characters dying, left and right, and the other half had just left, but only Axel was the one I was sad to see die.[/sp]
my friend says that they won't [sp]get to the prison until the end of the second season[/sp], but he never tells me where he gets his info..
I guess it's just an assumption it seems reasonable as it's such a huge set-piece and spans a lot of comics, so it'd make sense to do all the current smaller setpieces then next season start with a huge epic entry of the huge prison setting, also in terms of the length of how things are going and how many issues the episodes have gone through it seems reasonable they'd arrive at that point in the comic at the start of the second season.
Is it ever mentioned how long the time frame for 'The Walking Dead' is? I remember it being almost a year, but otherwise, no clue.

i re-read compilation book 4 i think it was a couple weeks ago and it's mentioned somewhere that "mid-prison" it's a year and a half since the event

[sp]Agreed, Axel dying sucked for some reason. And it wasn't like a drawn out death either, the Governor was shooting at them and he just got shot in the head and fell.[/sp]
i think the years passed by up until issue 78 is around [sp]1 1/2 to 2 years, since i remember reading someone saying it's already been a year since we got to the prison.[/sp]

[sp]yea they make it out as if he's going to be a major character in the rest of the series but NOPE, just for the arc, blam he's dead.[/sp]

[sp]Just finished books 11 and 12. I like how they just did off with not only Dale, but the twins as well. Nobody else died, just that group conveniently.[/sp]
Watch the whole thing is going to turn out to be a dream or something.

[sp]i thought dale got bit, had his leg cut off, and then had his other leg eaten by that cannibal group and then died later on by the governor? or am i thinking of someone else.[/sp]
Wow ok I am watching the second episode and the dialog is just embarrassing.
[sp]i thought dale got bit, had his leg cut off, and then had his other leg eaten by that cannibal group and then died later on by the governor? or am i thinking of someone else.[/sp]
[sp]He got bit again before the cannibals got him. Group rescued him and disposed of the cannibals, but he succumbed to the sickness (can't really amputate for a neck bite) and whatshername ended up putting him out of his misery.[/sp]
The second episode of The Walking Dead should be coming on in like an hour for me. I missed it when it premiered because I was too sleepy to stay up long enough to catch it lol.

[sp]I can't remember if the Governor did anything to Dale, but they encountered a group of cannibal hunters that took Dale after he went off to die alone from his bite wound. The cannibals cut off and ate his leg and then put him on display in front of the church that the group was staying in, in order to scare them. Andrea blows his brains out before he turns into a zombie.[/sp]
So I've finished all the current issues of The Walking Dead yesterday and cannot wait for the next episode so I started listening to "We're Alive" Podcast on iTunes.
Currently I'd suggest it to anyone who likes zombies.
issue 79 releases november 17
issue 80 releases december 16
issue 81 releases january 13
I am surprised. This got almost instantly translated into German. I watched the first and second episode.
FOX Channel is broadcasting it here, Pay-TV
What other languages is it being translated into?
This movie is so politically correct.
It has all races in it, whites, africans, indians, asians.
Much like the real world...

Why does everyone need everything translated? Can't they understand English or read subtitles? I hate watching TV in a foreign country, they translate everything.
(I'm not from an English speaking country btw)
What other languages is it being translated into?
Probably those that abhor using subtitles, IE French and Spanish.

Many theories on that, but it's usually about English "corrupting" their language or something. There's like one theater in Berlin that shows undubbed movies.
I'm so glad Finland never decided to start dubbing movies, would have been terrible.

Yeah well, some of the Disney's animated films are dubbed. Like Toy Story 1, shit was incredibly well dubbed. Watched it few months again blazed, I almost cried because it was so fucking good, all the nostalgias. Ahh...
Anyway, the good animated films are not dubbed by shit dubbers.
