why are we calling him One Handed Racist Francis when his name is Merle?
why are we calling him One Handed Racist Francis when his name is Merle?
Because he looks a lot like Francis from L4D
Thats what I thought.
Random thoughts while watching:
No twins in the camp. Young brother/sister pair however. [sp]I doubt the twin situation post-prison will happen, unless they pick them up later.[/sp]
The sister sister love is a little over the top "omg where is she."
[sp]At this point I'm thinking the extra characters not in the comic are highly expendable. Don't get too attached.[/sp]
I find it a little funny, all the black guy had to say was "We'll be back" whether he meant it or not when chaining the door. Might've prevented some hassle come next episode... or maybe the hunt for one-hand will lead to some positives...
Glenn will be the favorite character of everyone.
I'm anxious to see how they portray Rick's physical and mental change over the course of the series.
[sp]Zombies[/sp]
Found this little piece funny when the brother pulls a knife:
"You best let me go!"
"Nah, I think it's better if we don't."
"Choke-holdin's illegal!"
I'm wondering how far they'll take the changes in the TV series... could they go so far as to put Merle (one-handed racist Francis) in as the Governor.
Would make the thing he does to Rick that much sweeter lol
All this talk about the comic is making me want to go off and buy them.
If I wanted interaction between characters, I'd watch some drama.
Here I want zombies. Spending most of the episode interacting is boring.
you are one of those people i hate that doesn't know anything about twd. it's not about the action, it's about the interaction between the characters.
This series is pure awesome so far.
I don't know why people are discussing the comic in this thread.

If you want human interactions, why are there even zombies?
I have nothing against interactions, but if they are the whole episode, that's stupid.

If you just want zombies and nothing else, go play some L4D.

That's what a Drama is. This isn't an action packed, rootin' N' tootin', zombie killing spree. It's a show about the people who are cornered in a constantly unsafe environment, which causes high tension, and irritability. A world filled with zombies, which dominate everything about their lives now, makes for great drama. So, yeah, they'll kill some stuff, because that's the obstacles in their new lives, tethered around the zombies, the position of them, trying to survive.
Remember, just because someone died in the comic doesn't mean they will die in the show.
Take True Blood for instance -
[sp]Lafayette died at the start of book 2, but in the tv show Miss Jeanette died. So there's been a whole 2 seasons so far with a character that is meant to be dead in the book.[/sp]

This show is a drama, if you want just zombies then go play a zombie game of some sort.

That's like watching Airplane! and saying "If I wanted to laugh, I'd watch a comedy."
The black guy is killed in the next episode by the racist guy.
I have watched all 3 episodes twice so far. All the way through
I love AMC. Breaking Bad and now this? Who knew shows where its almost all talking could be so amazing?
The black guy is killed in the next episode by the racist guy.
Got a source for that info at all?
Also if it is true, could have tagged it.

Please just get out, you've done nothing for this thread.
Actually, are spoiler tags necessary?
I think we should stop using em altogether, if you come here, expect spoilers. Don't read it until you've seen it

It's a thread for the TV series, not the comic. If you wish to to talk about the comic and spoil things for everyone, get out of the thread.
Touche'd.

You're watching this show for the wrong reasons.
yes, and he said something that had to do with the next episode, which no one has had a chance to see yet because it hasn't aired
