There better be a new hot girl next season. :colbert:
Well Michonne is a certain kind of sexy. Hope they get a good actor for her.
Loving this; sucks that I have to download overly compressed versions. :(
this show has shockingly little characterization, especially considering how much focus there is on the characters

like, they don't really seem to have all that distinct personalities.

all the characters feel very flat, i feel like it really tries to give them life, but in trying to hard it falls so short
I pressed agree, but I meant disagree. All the characters are varied and have a wide spectrum of emotions, and I like how there's not a perfect character. Even Rick has his flaws and weaknesses

You can change your vote btw.
I have to only partially agree though, it doesn't have enough time to build the characters much, but it does a good job with the limited time it has; therefore it lacks much depth. Like the black guy on the roof, it shows him to be selfless but that's about all we know
Yup, I'm pondering reading the comics on but it'd feel like I'd be abandoning the series. :saddowns:
Read them. Seriously.
Just ordered volume one of the comic series, fuck yeah.
I just watched the episode that came out its amazing every episode gets more and more interesting.Too bad its one episode a week
I love this show. Although I can't wait another year for the second season :(

Me either but it is worth the wait.
Since people are speaking of going back to [sp]Jim, since he's on the brink of turning into a zombie, the fact that he didn't accept the gun (like he did in the comics) suggests something.[/sp]
This show seems really uneven quality wise.
All of the episodes are online at www.stagevu.com.
I don't know the legality of it, but they're watchable and all that.
$20 says they [sp]will never even get to the prison, gun training, carl killing someone or anything else from the fucking comic[/sp]

AMC handles their shit right. If it was good, AMC will include it.

I'm not sure which characters you're talking about. I already see Rick, Lori, Shane, Dale (Old Dude with Hat), Glenn, Carol (Shaved Hair Woman), Blonde Sister, Merle, Daryl, to name a few, as being pretty deep.
Merle can seem racist and a bigot and a womanizer, but we see through his actions that he's got a very strong will to survive. He also is very religious, as seen through his comments on the roof.
Daryl, his brother, seems very round. We first meet him as a hunter, providing food for the rest of the group, which means that although it's family first for him, and although he is impulsive, he does have common sense and he does sorta care . . . even if he doesn't want to.
Carol has only been on screen a few times, but we see her as being very round, trapped in an abusive loveless relationship, and her catharsis after the attack speaks volumes about her ethos.
Dale has known loss. He seems like the father figure, forever vigilant yet forgiving and nurturing. He also seems very fair and the most rational of the group.
I think it's doing a great job of characterization, given how many characters there are. Hell, I see less round characters in a traditional nightly drama that deal with fewer characters than I do with this one.
Maybe you could give specific examples of why you think the characters are flat?
All the special effects, especially the scifi apsects of the latest episode seemed to suck. Only gripe with that one.
When was the last time, on a TV SHOW, that you saw bits of brain matter splatter on the camera?
Do you even know what special effects are?
Do you even know what "sci-fi" is???

To be honest, the only thing I didnt like throughout the ENTIRE miniseries so far is the over stretching and dragging of [sp]Amy's death and the aftermath where her sister mourned that shit for a whole of 25 minutes combined from 2 episodes.[/sp]. I understand why they did it, I guess I just wanted them to move on with the storyline a bit, maybe go back to explore abandoned cities and houses.
Yeah he seemed like a really nice guy, would've been nice to find out more about how he predicted the whole thing with the grave-digging.
Plus that black woman, she was a bitch when she just shouted out he'd been bitten. I get she had to call out he was infected but the way she did it god damn. I mean it takes ages too change from what I've seen so far, it's not like he's going to instantly zombify.
I dunno. He could've tried to hide it. He could have gotten feverish in the night and woke up as a zombie . . . they didn't know how long it would take.

Emma Watson should have a cameo :smug:
Oh, and isn't that science guy in Windtalkers?

Yea. As the racist BAR gunner.
I think he's going to provide some comic relief for the show. I liked him when he was drinking.
why did they add all this CDC filler?

He's also Truman's buddy in the Truman Show.
yeah the obnoxious light at the cdc was a bit out of place

When [sp] her sister comes back and tries grabbing at her and her sister somehow intreprets that as "amy" being there and understanding what she is saying[/sp] I wanted to fucking shoot her.
Just finished watching it... I still find it kinda "meh"...
Also, the look on the old guy (can't recall his name) when he found out Shane was pointing his shotgun at Rick...
Those 2-3 seconds were INTENSE and incredibly uncomfortable.
I loved the new episode, though I didn't like the ending.
I loved how they handled Jim's implied death, I felt sad while he was laid against that tree.
Dale (the old guy, right? Well- I mean the old guy) is my favorite character so far, but I may start to like the new CDC guy. He seems smart, capable (he taught himself how to re-route power supplies) and funny.
I, forever onward, will hate Amy, though, because her death took SO long to end.
[tab]So long...[/tab]
