Currently at issue 45. Awesome so far, and I like how the TV series improved on some parts.
I'm starting to read them as well. Very good stuff.
The finale was pretty good. After Sunday it's going to suck. ~10 months to wait for both the next season of this show and Dexter. Ugh. I think I'm gonna get into the comics just to get more of this.
What I wonder is how electricity in brain changed color
it was just symbolism
i was wondering what happened to that grenade
I wonder how drastically the ratings will drop for next season after such a huge wait Or, who knows, maybe though word of mouth, anticipation, and heavy advertising the season 2 premiere could shatter records
I'm on the fence about guessing the ratings next year. Part of me believes the audience, with no other zombie show to compete, will be back. The show, with new writers, will be better and the audience will actually GROW! The other part of me thinks general(ie nonzombie fans) audiences will be over it by next year. They will have moved on to something else, the next big thing. Meanwhile, zombie fans will stick with it. So, like with Lost, ratings will be decent but nowhere near what they were the first year.
Man, I have to write a review of the entire first season for my school newspaper. I'm not even done with the first half of the first episode and I'm already at 442 words. My editor's going to be mad.
Post what you're writing

Makes me want to stop being lazy and get back to After Effects work.

I didn't think that much of it would be fake/greenscreened/cgi though. I guess it's cheaper to model a lot areas digitally than to make them in real life, though, so it makes sense.
Last episode was without a doubt the best so far and I don't get why everyone is hating on the explosions. They're not as good as in movies, but they're pretty good for a tv show.
To be honest, the production values of the show as a whole seem as good as movies.
After getting 25+ million viewers across the first season, I can only hope that those production values are going to increase.

The way it exploded, the way building fell apart, it all looked really fake. Hell they didn't even try to hide the fact that they fractured it. To be fair, it looked like that part was done by an experienced amateur than a professional team.
Jenner might have said, "Not to trust Shane", since he had cameras and could see everything including what Shane did. Or he might have said to watch out for his son since early on Jenner said he was worried about Rick's son. Thats what I got from the discussion on the AMC website anyway.
He was patronising Rick's son. He was asked why doctors carry guns, and said he wasn't worried about most of them, but said he was worried about his son being a threat as a joke. Also the fact that he smiles. Wake up.
it doesn't matter how good the Visual Effects artist is, it all comes down to money, if the vfx budget is crap, the effects are going to be crap.

They can't blow up a building in the middle of a city, can they...
After getting 25+ million viewers across the first season, I can only hope that those production values are going to increase.
I hope their visual effects budget gets better. I don't like the look of the blood splatters or explosions at all, though that doesn't take away from how much I love the show. Also, I have to applaud how good the makeup is, it's truly wonderful.

There's a guy called The Faking Hoaxer on Youtube, his videos have better special effects than that explosion. SyFy Originals' producers laughed when they saw that explosion. Adobe spokesmen said "There are tutorials online that help prevent that sort of thing" when they saw that explosion.
I didn't really get anything less from the explosion, I thoroughly enjoyed it regardless, it's a fucking great show.
I could rewatch the episode where he goes to Atlanta over and over. That was such a sweet episode.

Pretty much, how much is going into making the zombies look amazing.
I'm just sad that there won't be any new episodes for almost a year.
The thing that annoyed me about the explosion wasn't the effect so much, it was the way the camera did that thing where it shows the explosion from a ton of wide angles. It kinda broke the flow of the action.
Should've just shown it from ground
That's what I thought, show it the way the characters would see it.
Yeah, it was almost like they were so proud of it that they decided to show it off in all of its splendor. When in actuality it's easily one of the worst explosions that I've ever seen on TV.
Wow. 2 pages complaining about one explosion? Really? How high are your expectations? It's a fucking TV show for fuckssakes.
