The writers weren't fired, one of them is probably going to leave to do his own project though.
After viewing 5 episodes, I'm mentally and emotionally drained, making this a very good series.
Glad to see that a lot of people on FP like this show.

I don't if 'bad' is the word to use here, but there can be no doubt that the last 5 episodes were not up to the quality(in writing) of the premiere episode.
The official word is that no one was fired, they were all just hired for six episodes. The show became a surprise hit and now there's going to be more episodes. So the producers(Darabont and AMC) now have a decision: do you rehire the original writers or bring in a new crew?
Well, I think if the writing of the first season was incredibly awesome, it's a no-brainer(hehe zombie humor) that you rehire them.
On the other hand, if you're Darabont and you look back on the first six episodes and think "You know, some of that stuff was kind of weak", this is your chance to hire new people and improve it.
Didn't Darabont himself write episode one?

Well, all the special effects looked kind of decent, can't say that I can do better. But I loved the story, and they better make a new season.
Ive asked it before and ill ask it again, whats the music at the end of episode 3 with all the Ed bashing and Darryl screaming.
I don't know but that was one of my favorite moments of the series.

They are loud but they would look like military and get more respect and they are diesel but diesel last longer then gas and there are a ton of vehicles to get the fuel from. Plus nothing would stop them cause Deuces are fucking beasts.

But yeah (imo) right after the start of the season it got a lot more like any other generic zombie survival show, they do alot of strange moves at a wrong times and then they tie some piece of thing from the season start to the ending to give it a smart twist-feeling, fuck that, didn't work for me. But I gotta say some of the characters are really cool
