Half the budget for double the episodes? They've got to make do with only 25% spending cash for the same amount of work as S1.
I thought the budget cut was just a rumor.
i was about to post this, i'm forcing my sisters to watch the show.
You sick bastard. Make them rewatch the really gorey bits. Over and over.
6 Days
Hopefully they removed the suck from the show.
What sucked about it?
the lack of character development (i honestly do not care for any of the characters in the show) and dumb plots (ok guys the gang members are actually the good guys because they're taking care of the elderly!!!) also the last few episodes were so idiotic i laughed i honestly watched all the episodes just to see the zombie action/survival plots and it severely disappointed me in those aspects
I just re-watched the entire thing today and loved it just as much as I did last year.
What sucked about it?
Two dimensional characters and terrible deviations from the original plot.(the entire CDC plot line was just awful beyond words)

Its a TV show, character development takes a lot longer in a show then a movie, a show has shit tons of seasons to change its characters, a movie usually has 90 minutes.
Two dimensional characters and terrible deviations from the original plot.(the entire CDC plot line was just awful beyond words)
Its a TV show not the comic.
I'm still wondering how/if they're going to do the whole [sp]prison[/sp] thing. It seems like it could warrant it's own whole season.
Why does everyone hate on this show so hard? Are there any other zombie shows out there to give anyone a zombie fix? Because, as a huge fan of the comics and a MAJOR fan of the pilot episode (which was PERFECT), the whole CDC arc was pretty ridiculous and out of place. Even when I rewatched the first season and approached it from "It's not the comics, it's its own being and needs to be thought of as an original story" I just couldn't get into it. That said, I'm actually okay with the budget cuts. I'd like to see smaller, more character-driven stories than what we were given last season. All the trailers seem to be indicating the show moving in that direction, so I'm very excited. [sp]Herschel![/sp] I'll definitely be catching the season two premiere this Sunday.

The CDC weren't really explored in the comics and it's nice to see them go in a different direction. It's not as if they're focusing on the place, they've moved on. I agree, it's not as captivating or moving like the comics are, but it's still pretty unique and cool compared to the other tripe that's on TV and that's okay by me.

It's more about how over-the-top the entire story was. TWD started off as a fairly grounded in reality story that was so satisfying to watch to introducing a character who is SERIOUSLY CALLED T-DOGG BY EVERYONE to super computer that can understand and interact vocally with anyone who says anything to a giant explosion as a season ender. It just all got a bit silly and seemed to divert itself so much from the dark/gritty/emotional beginning. But I'm not hating on anyone who liked it or even loved it. It had a lot of cool stuff going for it, I just personally thought the execution was off. I still have a lot of faith in the show, though. It's so hard to find a great zombie story, and I'm hoping that this one will be it.

I was so insanely hyped for this show and was prepared to deem it the greatest series ever made. But, it just didn't feel like an AMC show. The writing was sloppy, the characters were boring and archetypal, and the changes to the story were unnecessary and stupid.
Well, here's to season 2, let's hope they've heard some feedback and remembered it when writing/filming.
You sick bastard. Make them rewatch the really gorey bits. Over and over.
more specifically, when they have to put the zombie guts on their jackets to blend in.
It could be the whole thing was overblown because they had only 6 episodes to impress the network and earn a renewal. Now that they're clearly a success maybe they can take more time and treat it with care. As far as characters go, I thought they did a great job. They seemed real. Except for episode 2, but I think that was because they were rushing to establish basically the ENTIRE cast in the span of an episode, and character development took a back seat.
i also thought the whole part where they lock the redneck up on the roof and lose the keys was completely ridiculous [sp]he survives getting his hand cut off (i vaguely remember zombies breaking into the mall and managing to get onto the roof, what happened to them??), conveniently finds a way to fix it, and manages to steal a fucking vehicle from the main characters??[/sp]

The whole point is that Merle is an extraordinarily tough, stubborn sonuvabitch.
I was expecting him to return at some point during the last few episodes of the season. Is he ever going to come back or have we all just forgotten about him?
he'll be back [sp]he forgot his hand[/sp]
I was expecting him to return at some point during the last few episodes of the season. The cast also said that Season 2 is going to focus more on character development as well, so that's fun.
