He passes up two ambulances, and decides its a better idea to get the supplies from a medical trailer that is blocked by hundreds of zombies, INSTEAD OF CHECKING THE AMBULANCE RIGHT NEXT TOO HIM, WHICH HE SHOULD KNOW WOULD CONTAINS A RESPIRATOR AND THE NECESSARY TOOLS TO DO An INTUBATION! and he's an EMT.

Well they set up a medical center in the trailer, the supplies would all be in there most likely. Ambulances were too out in the open anyways.

Like I said, the supplies were probably moved into the school, if that's where people were being treated where else would they be? And yeah they hid for a few seconds, but to spend time searching for supplies, that's a different story.

If there's supplies in the medical trailer, than there's the basic shit in the ambulance.

The way people put this show up on the pedestal for being "thought out", this is sort of a big plot hole.
Seeing the next episode or two will revolve around the mistake of that one scene to a degree.
