Using that logic, why isn't the supplies in the medical trailer all moved into the school?
If there's supplies in the medical trailer, than there's the basic shit in the ambulance.
No that scene wasn't thought out, and that was over looked just to create tension (high school trapped situation)
Well, Otis said that the last time he saw the High School it was overrun, so that means that he's been there at least once before, so he may have already checked or looted the ambulances prior to this episode.
Didnt he say they needed shit to put him under for surgery?
Do they carry that in ambulances?
Of course. Ventilators and the like are on every one I've ever been in around here.

Dude ambulances have pretty much everything you could want.
They're designed around getting your ass to point A to B when you're the most fucked up.
When i did my ride along, the first thing the EMT -P did when he got on shift, was do a drug stock check, checking the narcotics box, full of some crazy shit that would make you feel pretty happy and sleepy if used right.
So yes.
I plan to take my basic course in a year, that's why this bothers me so much. it's basic shit, and as a result of over looking this, the plot is changed drastically.
Which i think is pretty retarded.

That's a VERY broad, and big assumption. That is never explained and hardly hinted at. And if that is the case, that is equally a bad plot hole.

Interesting.
Then the way the scene should have played out is that they got in the ambulance then get trapped with zombies surrounding it.
Or just not have it there in the first place.
It was a decent episode besides that plot hole. The acting was pretty good for rick i think.
Just because you didn't see them check the ambulances doesn't mean it didn't happen.
Every episode I like Darryl and Shane more and more

That's bad directing bro.
In past episodes they wouldn't over look something like that.
Didn't they recently change directors or writers?

agree, shane seems to be the most likable.

Editing is a funny thing. Every time there is a cut you should assume some time may have passed, you don't need to see them do every little thing. We went through that is early films when they showed every little thing, like driving to work, getting out of the car, walking inside and so on. Now we assume that he just drove to work, he didn't just magic his ass there.
All I'm saying is it wasn't needed, and its not really a hole because the ambulances probably had all their equipment taken out at some point, either to use to help people or by looters.

Not all ambulances carry ALS supplies. EMS in my area is provided by payed/volenteer rescue squads/fire companies. ALS is only called if needed. They response in SUVs and meat up with the BLS crews en route to the hospital.

that makes more sense than dodgy editing/writing.
Holy fucking shit.
The Talking Dead showed a clip of the next episode [sp]It shows Carl talking about the deer then dying suddenly, supposedly anyway[/sp]
Sneak peek on The Talking Dead makes it seem like [sp]Carl might actually die[/sp] next week...
Well shit, Ninja'd.

[sp] If they kill carl off, im going to be pissed[/sp]
[sp]I dont want him to die but if he does that would be awesome, just to see how much Rick changes in a short time-span[/sp]
This episode and the next are awesome for me. The high school was my old high school.
That building the episode ended in was the library. I walked up and down those stairs every morning on my way to algebra, they even ran right by that classroom.
I've been looking forward to this since I heard they were filming there.

Seemed like a mislead to me. I'm thinking [sp]Carl was anesthetized for the surgery and goes to sleep.[/sp] I wouldn't expect something as big as [sp]Carl dying[/sp] to show up in a preview.
Every episode I watch of this I shake a little bit. Because I expect it to be really bad and that it'll all soak into senseless drama and characters doing things that make no sense and are just so unlikable that I want them all to die.
But yay! That's not happening yet! I'm so happy.
I didn't even think about the ambulances while I was watching it, although I'm thinking about it now; in my mind it's a small matter, since, despite that it may have been easier to have the supplies in the ambulances, the writers would have put Shane and Otis into the same situation, one way or another. A quick line about supplies inside the ambulances would have been okay and would have only taken five, maybe seven seconds. But oh well, maybe there's going to be an extended scene on the DVD.
They're obviously now prepping Daryl for[sp]his special flashback episode[/sp] later this season by trying to make the audience like him, and there's no complaints on my end. When Dale mentioned [sp]T-Dog being sick[/sp], I thought he'd act the same way he did to Jim in the last season, but nope! [sp]He brings out a bag of medicine and scolds Dale for not telling him sooner.[/sp] What a beast.
And speaking of likable characters, Maggie wastes no time proving her worth either. [sp]Saving Andrea, (who got separated from her group a lot faster than I'd have thought,) and getting Lori to the farm quick as possible.[/sp] Knowing and remembering the names of the people in the group was especially good on her part, made things quick and easy.
I was half expecting Lori to just move into bitch-mode and be, well, bitchy to Rick for letting Carl into that position in the first place. But, thankfully, she just moves in to support her husband. Thank God. Most of the drama in this show I expected to come from her and Shane. But both of them are surprising me so far this season. Shane, like people have said, is easily one of the most likable characters on here.
I was impatient and watched early the sneak peek showing [sp]T-Dog talking to Dale about them being the "weakest" and that they should leave.[/sp] I didn't like him after that but I can sort of see his position now that I've watched the whole episode. He's trying his best, like all of them, but he keeps messing up and not purposefully. He wanted to free Merle, but dropped the key. He tried to redeem himself by going back into the city to look for him but no luck. Then he slips up on the highway, injuring himself and Daryl has to save him. He's probably feeling pretty useless and in his current position, can't do anything about it. Some people in this situation, it's their first instinct to run away. Maybe that's what he's done most of his life, (but we'll probably never find out since he's just a side character,) and even if it isn't, the fever is messing with his head and probably blowing things out of proportion in his perspective. He probably won't last much longer, which'll be too bad but I hope in his last moments he can finally do something to make up for his mistakes. (Although, with this show's tone, redemption might be too bright, especially for a side character. He'll probably just die in a fight or zombify. Oh well.)
Uh, if it was said earlier in the thread and I missed it, I apologize. Is there sort of a "spoiler etiquette" for this thread? Is it just comic stuff, or stuff from the most recent episode? I don't want to accidentally ruin it for some people.
But yeah, I liked this episode more than I thought I would!
edit: Oh, and if people didn't know, the composer for the series, Bear McCreary, regularly posts samples from the latest episodes on his blog. It's mostly just suspense music, not long cues, but there is some pretty cool stuff on there. Music from the series premiere and such. The latest episode isn't up yet, so last episode is still at the top.
The ambulance thing: They have one chance to grab stuff and make noise. If they waste it on the ambulance and alert the zombies then they have wasted their time. They needed more than just meds, they essentially needed an entire surgical room full of supplies. I doubt ambulances carry all that.
So they focus on the one location most guaranteed to have everything they need in one go.
The real plot hole is how anyone is still walking around without a club/bat/stick to bash the occasional zombie in the head with it. How they are all together EXCEPT for that moment Andrea needs to be by herself for suspense.
Is the second episode riddled with loads of stupid moments like episode 1?
All people do stupid things, get over it.
No, stuff like "Why didn't they get better cars?, why didn't Rick and the girl just run away together?, why didn't they see the massive amount of zombies coming at them?"
And so on. Like obvious things they gloss over.

Those are stupid questions actually.
1.) They knew the cars they already had, knew how they worked and liked them, they wouldn't just trade them off for completely unknown vehicles.
2.) Rick wanted to make sure she was safe, if she got bitten while he was fighting off one of the walker's he wouldn't have ever forgiven himself.
3.) Quite simply, they weren't really looking. They were too caught up looking around in the cars and stuff to notice.
Well Dale looked away for 5 seconds and then BAM dozens of zombies on the middle of the road.
From what I saw, the zombies were coming from behind a bunch of cars. The herd could have easily got on the road while the cars/trucks were blocking them from view.
nope, you could see miles and miles behind them. they just suddenly appeared. it was fucking stupid.
the plot hole with this show (probably been mentioned) is why don't they just wear their zombie gore disguises whenever they're going to be near zombies at any point
logically, of course. that's not a dramatic question

Because TV shows become boring when they do the same thing twice.
Because TV shows become boring when they do the same thing twice.
aaaaalready covered it
I expect they'll come back to it so we can all be like HAHA I REMEMBER WHEN THEY DID THAT
I'll say
told you so. should have been doing that all along then they all wouldn't have died, fucking idiots
[sp]T-dog is gonna be a zombie next episode, I call it[/sp]
