the plot hole with this show (probably been mentioned) is why don't they just wear their zombie gore disguises whenever they're going to be near zombies at any point
logically, of course. that's not a dramatic question
Because the effects of rubbing pure zombie on all over yourself aren't exactly positive. If you accidently cover a cut, even if it's incredibly small, you'll probably get infected.
Plus it smells horrible.
1) wear coveralls like they did the first time
2) being torn apart and eaten is pretty bad i guess
Good episode, I can look past tiny nitpicking stuff and actually enjoy the show.
Darryl is best character. ~~He's fucking zen~~
nope, you could see miles and miles behind them. they just suddenly appeared. it was fucking stupid.
The herd didn't come down the road where you could see for miles, they came out from the woods close to where the group was stopped. They were probably drawn out by the sound of the group driving by (in particular, Daryl's motorcycle).
When Dale was up on the RV, you could see him looking down the road, not at the trees beside the road where the herd came from. That's why he doesn't notice them sooner. Although realistically, he probably should have seen them a bit sooner as they trickled out of the woods, but it's not like the herd had miles to cross before reaching the group.
nope, you could see miles and miles behind them. they just suddenly appeared. it was fucking stupid.
They may have emerged from the forest on the side and then traveled up the road or something.
For those complaining about the ambulance thing. It could be a matter of human error, and not bad writing. Could they have found everything they needed in an ambulance and got out of there in 5 minutes? Maybe. But maybe they didn't know that. There was a medical trailer set up specifically to help people. That's where I would've looked, and with the flares they probably didn't expect to be swarmed when they got out.
That flashback served no purpose.
That flashback served no purpose.
I thought it was to show how Rick had to be there for Carl after he got shot the way Carl was there for him.
That flashback served no purpose.
I personally enjoy seeing the flashbacks because we get a look into the life of the people before the outbreak. The comics didn't show a whole lot of the characters lives before the outbreak.
Oh I forgot the new season started last week. Haven't seen the second episode yet but loved the first one.
I just felt it was unnecessary. Disliked it even more because most of the characters are really bland, so the flashback didn't really do it for me. Heck, Rick's wife even talks about the same thing later in the episode.
Like I said about first season.... I say the same for second, if daryl dies, I quit watching the show.

If Daryl dies he's going to go down stabbing a horde of zombies in the face with just his crossbow bolts in slow motion or some shit in order to save everybody else.

Dude, really? Are you one of those people whose brains are so thick they need everything explained on-screen? Seriously, it's called turn your brain off and let the show do the fucking thinking for you. Shane and Otis arrive at a school, where Otis knows of a trailer with shit tons of medical supplies, despite being overrun by zombies. They're not just gonna get there, be like "hey fuck the trailer, let's check out this ambulance instead, cuz you know it couldn't have been emptied already, or the sounds of opening the doors might set off the alarm and alert the herd, then they'd be all fucked and zombies would end up at Herschel's farm and the whole show would go to buttfuck. Notice how Shane nearly crapped his pants just from opening the police car door and trunk? Imagine if the alarm had gone off? The plan would have gone to FUBAR, and they would be running for their lives instead of getting the necessary supplies.
If you the characters to have your level of common sense, go apply for a job with AMC, don't sit here and bitch because it didn't appeal to you.

Nowhere did I mention anything about an ambulance. I was talking about the flashback. As in we didn't need a flashback reminding us that Rick once got shot. So no, quite the opposite, as I would have preferred it off screen, like they did later in the episode.
Lori is so annoying. [sp]When she was moaning at the nice vet guy. It's like you should think yourself lucky he has at least some knowledge in medical matters, what do you expect you ungrateful bitch[/sp]

Otis is an EMT, he should know what ambulances contain.
If you have to sit down and speculate about a plot hole this much, and think up of ways to try to counter act the statement that, that scene was poorly thought out. Just the act of that scene being so questionable makes that scene poor to begin with.
This thread has turned into a debate about the various plot holes.
if you have to defend a show this much, to the degree to where we assume a lot more than what is shown, than that is just poor writing on the shows part.
In the interview with the producer, he said that they want to make the show "realistic" as possible.
So don't pull the "it's just a TV show, logic doesn't matter"
If the writers were wring from the angle of "fuck all logic" than i wouldn't give a fuck.
The first season had better writing, this season sucks balls in the writing/directing category.

Then all of you complainers and critics realize the real question of "Why do I care if they check the ambulances or not? Don't I want to see some action and gore?"
Lori is so annoying. [sp]When she was moaning at the nice vet guy. It's like you should think yourself lucky he has at least some knowledge in medical matters, what do you expect you ungrateful bitch[/sp]
[sp]UR A VET AND YOU'RE SAVING MY CHILD HOW COULD YOU?[/sp]
Shut up, Lori, you stupid cunt.
Edit:
I also wish they'd hire some new writers because most of the dialogue is some really boring cheese and I'm tempted to just skip past most of it. A good example is the Rick and Shane talk outside the house.
I love this series.
BUT, I want to beat the blonde chick senseless with a stick. What a whiney bitch.

It's easy to say that when you aren't in the situation. [sp]If it was your kid that had been shot, you'd probably be a little worried about a veterinarian working on them.[/sp]

But as Rick said its all they've got. She can't fucking complain if thats all there is to work with and which is better, leave him there or let someone with at least some experience try?

I'd be relieved that there was at least someone to help, what the hell is the alternative

You can have a good story without action or gore. And without making plot holes to introduce action and gore.
The first season put that well into practice at some points.
Why must there be gore and action? Are you really that daft that you can't follow a logical plot without gore? or do we need to throw logic and good writing out the window to satisfy your blood lust?
I am not really talking about the ambulance scene anymore, but the series in general. It started off very slow, and every action the characters had was well thought out in season one. now we just have a bunch of idiots running around in the woods, making half ass mistakes, with poor writing, and shit dialogue thrown in the mix.

She knows that that's all they've got. They're going through with it, aren't they? But it's just natural that she'd be worried.
Lori's had what- two scenes where she's not being a giant bitch? She even manages to fuck up when pleading Rick to stay with Carl by making it all about how she couldn't take it as opposed to how Carl needed him.
Maybe I'm just searching for reasons to hate her, but she's really the only character I can't relate to even a little.
Holy shit, when did the second episode air? Oh my gosh, I'm so excited.

Don't worry, she's meant to be a bitch. Some people just are that way.

He has a 360 view on top of that roof, assuming he turns his head at all, in any direction. Human vision is pretty damn long (comparable a bit to a panoramic shot)
There is literally no excuse for missing an entire horde until they were that close.
