What, an universe where Supernatural is a TV show?
Yeah, and they even referred to them as Jensen and Jarred
a friend was in a magazine with a doctor who prop, is it worth showing here? agree or disagree
He's effectively telling you your idea is good because there's not enough alt-universe stories and you shout at him? Read it again, he's agreeing with you. That said there's enough alt-verse stories. You do it too much and it becomes less impactful. Wedding of River Song, The Big Bang, All Alt-Cybermen stories, Inferno, and Turn Left spring to mind.
I thought he was being sarcastic. I take it back then.
Yeah, and they even referred to them as Jensen and Jarred
Oh, where can I find more about this?
BBC Worldwide have announced details of a fab-looking Doctor Who DVD boxset celebrating The Fourth Doctor and featuring the first release of Terror of the Zygons on DVD. Full details below. The Fourth Doctor Time Capsule is an individually numbered deluxe box-set, containing exclusive content and memorabilia from Tom Baker’s era on Doctor Who, including a newly-commissioned interview with the man himself - An Interview with the Time Lord. Alongside the interview package, the set contains an advance vanilla release of the restored Terror of the Zygons, set to be released in full later this year. Telling the tale of shape-shifting aliens attempting to colonize the Earth, Terror of the Zygons introduces the titular monsters, who are set to return in the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special. With a limited run of 5,000 units, the Time Capsule also includes: • An exclusive post-regenerative Fourth Doctor action figure, wearing Jon Pertwee’s trademark frill-fronted shirt. • A Fourth Doctor sonic screwdriver • An audio version of classic Tom Baker story Genesis of the Daleks • Novel Tomb of Valdemar by Simon Messingham, set during the Fourth Doctor’s search for the Key to Time. • Art cards of all the Fourth Doctor’s companions. • And a letter from Tom Baker himself. The Fourth Doctor Time Capsule will be released on July 29 in the UK only.
:suicide: not a complete set. Just Zygons.
Looking forward to the butthurt amazon reviews already.
Looking forward to the butthurt amazon reviews already.
They might have reason to be upset this time. Only including the audio version of Genesis besides Zygons seems a bit cheap to me, as does such a limited supply of actual content beyond all the memorabilia and bonus content. Though come to think of it, a complete Fourth Doctor set would sound uber-expensive if it needed to cover all his stories, even if the DVDs were just the cheap non-Bonus-Feature-filled versions the BBC seems to like putting in these special edition box sets.
Also the fact that a complete fourth doctor box set would be over 71 hours of footage and be fucking huge
Fucking deal with it. They could've fit 2-3 serials on one Blu Ray Disk. Would've been fine. Instead you get a cheap Terror of the Zygons. Audio of Genesis (why not a bbc audio recorded a couple of years back?), some reprinted letter, pictures of companions (2 of which don't count as his companions) and an action figure of Four in an outfit he wore for less than 5 minutes. Grand.
There would have been even more bitching over a complete box set. For everyone who already owns most / many / a fair few fourth Doctor stories - it would have been even more of an unnecessary expenditure, especially if they still really wanted it. If a limited edition version of a new serial interests you - go for it. If not, don't go for it or just get the standalone. But this is Doctor Who so we'll add it to the "reasons to moan about the 50th" list.
Also the fact that a complete fourth doctor box set would be over 71 hours of footage and be fucking huge
In terms of most screentime, how do the doctors rank up against each others?
But this is Doctor Who so we'll add it to the "reasons to moan about the 50th" list.
- This box set - Moffat keeps taking his shirt off - Ben Daniels isn't the next Doctor - Barrowman! [editline]9th July 2013[/editline]
In terms of most screentime, how do the doctors rank up against each others?
Tom Baker destroys it. [editline]9th July 2013[/editline] Let's just rename Paul to Poor Mcgann to save writing "poor Paul Mcgann" every time we write about his lack of screentime. Poor Mcgann.
In terms of most screentime, how do the doctors rank up against each others?
1) Tom Baker - 71.2 hours 2) Patrick Troughton - 57.9 hours (including Three Doctors, Five Doctors and Two Doctors) 3) Jon Pertwee - 54.8 hours (including Three Doctors and Five Doctors) 4) William Hartnell - 53.7 hours (including Three Doctors) 5) David Tennant - 39 hours (including 50th) 6) Matt Smith - 34 hours (including 50th @ 90 mins and xmas 2013 @ 60 mins) 7) Peter Davison - 31.5 hours 8) Sylvester McCoy - 19 hours (including TV movie) 9) Colin Baker - 15.5 hours 10) Christopher Eccleston - 9.8 hours 11) Paul McGann - 1.5 hours
Eeee christy, poor Chris only had nearly 10 hours of screentime; second only to Paul and even then Paul was only there for the TV movie. Shame, since he was a pretty awesome Doctor, a good blend of wacky and serious. Also his Doctor hooked me into Who when the show rebooted back in 2005. God I must have been 13 back then...

Also I got what I believe to be the complete set of Doctor Who 50th anniversary stamps off my nan today, I really am tempted to use them.

Tennant and Smith for 12 and 13! I need MORE! Eccleson will get a spin-off: "9th doctor adventures: Not talking down to kids edition - No smiling redux" He likes roles that don't smile, doesn't he?
Okay so my friend had a kindle skin of River Song's Journal. http://digital.modernluxury.com/publication/?i=163775&p=158 Sorry to let people down. Good photo though. she's in the lower left
A friend at the Beeb just told me Moffatt told Callum to deny any rumours of being cast but he's already proved himself to not be sly enough to work with the current production team. Moffat phoned him up last night and screamed and sweared at him about it until 3am. As a consequence Callum is trying to back out of his 3 year contract (which is why he is now asking people to retweet his showreel but with a mocking hashtag of #drwho). I called his best friend who told me that Callum feels heartbroken to have lost out on some massive opportunity but also that the experience has given him so much more confidence in his acting career and believes that something even bigger is in the pipeline.
Funniest 'spoiler' I've read in my life. I hope it's true (probably not). Hahahaha. [editline]9th July 2013[/editline] Hahah Callums twitter. https://twitter.com/callumarnott I like how at some points he's all "Lol I'm not the Doctor am I?" like a big dick. Then it's a very blunt
#drwho I can't confirm or deny anything...
Hahahahahhaah. Oh my giddy aunt. I hope the above rumour is true to badly. [editline]9th July 2013[/editline] The way I see it. The publicity is good for him. He likes it. But I bet he's freaked out as fuck that somehow his name ended up out there when he has it protected by Equity. How did it get out there? Who knows. [editline]9th July 2013[/editline]
The rumour mill is out in force. Am I the new #doctorwho
His writing is terrible. I hope he doesn't get the part based on that alone. Also he called the role "Doctor Who". [editline]9th July 2013[/editline] I don't care if they're just exagerrated rumours. I love to imagine Steven Moffat running around the BBC, as fast as his little legs can carry him, shouting "YOU ARE ERASED FROM DOCTOR WHO" whenever somebody pisses him off.

Could someone explain it in plain english with the plot laid out chronologically with all set-up details laid out properly?
The update on the rumours around Callum Arnott and Moffat erasing people from Doctor Who? That's pretty much it.
Erasing Cast or crew? and for what?
Erasing Cast or crew? and for what?
moffat got access to the real life version of the moment and is erasing doctor who staff from existence, obviously where do you think all those missing episodes came from?
Erasing Cast or crew? and for what?
Maybe you missed this? Moffat had a very public screaming match with Caroline Skinner when he screamed (allegedly) "YOU ARE ERASED FROM DOCTOR WHO" and told her she'd never work on it again. Next day news came she was stepping down. So it's become an in-joke now that whenever somebody "decides" to leave, that's what happened. Moffat and his furious Scottish temper. Which people have testified since before he took over as showrunner. At conventions he was always apparently a bit vocal and angry. Pretty sure he wrote a journal about how much 80s Doctor Who sucked and how dreadful it was. My uni lecturer had it. Good luck finding that now. He's always going on about how he loves Doctor Who from the 80s. [editline]10th July 2013[/editline] Uhh Murray Gold sort of implied in an interview that a meeting with the new Doctor actor happened in the last week. Those Callum rumours said the same thing. Also Murray Gold watches the (un-scored) 50th while he's on planes. So if you happen to sit behind him on a plane, keep an eye on his laptop. :v:
Apparently BBC tweeted the title of the special earlier and deleted it. Taking with pinch of salt. We'll know after Comic Con though...
Speaking on Radio 4, Gold reveals that he has been working on the 50th anniversary special and confirms he will be debuting a song at the proms entitled, “Song for 50.”
The song has lyrics and at no point does he say it's for the anniversary. He repeatedly says it's an original composition for the proms. That's all. It has lyrics and everything. It ends with something like "Happy Birthday Doctor, YOU". Which he's worried some might misheard as "Happy Birthday Doctor Who" and complain that his name isn't Doctor Who. It's essentially the Murray Gold equivalent of fans make Youtube video celebrations.
The song has lyrics and at no point does he say it's for the anniversary
If it's called 'Song for 50' and has 'Happy Birthday Doctor' in the lyrics - it's probably for the anniversary :v: [sp]Yes, I know you mean the Untitled 50th Special - I'm just enjoying being pedantic[/sp]
It ends with something like "Happy Birthday Doctor, YOU". Which he's worried some might misheard as "Happy Birthday Doctor Who" and complain that his name isn't Doctor Who.
Surely "Happy Birthday Doctor Who" makes more sense than "Happy Birthday Doctor, You" anyway? Since, y'know, it's the actual "birthday" of the show titled "Doctor Who", rather than the imagined birthday of the character known as The Doctor? :I
