All you missed was a Special Doctor Who Edition of the Proms (a big British music concert) in which music from and inspired by the show was played by an orchestra.

Not really. There's going to be a christmas special after that (Matt Smith's last), and then series 8 will start fresh with a new doctor, and most likely a new over-arching story.

Nope. It's universally disliked.
It's easier to like if you don't think of it as soundtrack, it's an original composition. It was scored before Murray had seen the 50th. Plus it breaks the 4th wall.

So TDT could just be jacking their thunder and guessing. But it seems the word is out there it's Daniel.
I heard a few days ago that they had just cast 12 and were waiting to sign him. A week ago somebody said final screen tests were taking place for 12. Murray Gold also said a week ago that 12 was in the BBC building.

I'm pretty sure it "leaked into the Twitter world" 3 days ago, that's when I first read his name in relation to the Doctor.
i follow him on twitter, and he usually replies with some friendly stuff. it's sort of a shame that he's getting such a big role because now he'll never have a chat with me again :(
