wow i'll be gutted if it's him
Gutted it's an award winning actor?
After losing Ben Daniels - they chose someone who will look like Ben Daniels in 20 years.
That's the hair he should go for
What's the odds on him being "ERASED FROM DOCTOR WHO" as well? [editline]16th July 2013[/editline] Also he looks a bit like Ewan Mcgregor in that photo

I've been thinking. if Chris accepted returning, what if the story was that Hurt regenerated into Doctor 9 and doc 9 then, having seen rose with 10 and 11 goes adventuring and for that reason latches onto her as he does in series 1. it'd explain why he rushed along with her so openly. That is to say, the reason he goes from Hurt to 9 is part of his redemption for his part in the time-war. It'd still explain why 9 and 10 are still bitter about what they saw in the time-war. If the redemption was that he forgot his hypothetical insane action in the timewar, apart from what he did as 8, and so started out as 9 thinking that he had just regenerated from 8. am i making sense? essentially, he forgets his time as Hurt, but remembers meeting 10, 11 and Rose. He learnt drama at RADA. He has a BAFTA. Until I looked it up I had no idea he was the same person as the guy in the BT ads/Eric & Ernie/Black Mirror. You don't get better actors than this. By the time we get around to seeing him in the role he'll be 31. By the time he leaves he'll be at least 35. It's a fine age. I would've liked older, but this guy has the acting chops. Plus looking at his standup/past roles/interviews I can see him playing the Doctor in a unique way. I'm imaging a razor sharp wit. Sarcastic and abrasive. Inadvertently rude as opposed to intentionally like six was. In Black Mirror he was quite stern too. Plus he's ginger. The most important thing above all is that the person chosen is a great actor. And although the likes of Ben Daniels and Julian Bleach are very good, they're not that good. Though it does make you wonder if the Julian Bleach rumour was true and he was in Doctor Who related talks.. Davros returns? I get the impression he's not the sort to take shit from anybody. Which is how you earn the respect of angry Scottish men.
I wouldn't expect The Hurt Doctor to remain intact if I were you. This is Doctor Who. "erased and redeemed" is the term the leakers have used. As for past Doctors, don't be too sure/unsure about the involvement. While most of the trusty sources say they're not involved, there are rumbles that all past-Doctor filming was done before the rest of the 50th and in studio with a skeletal crew. Which is why it hasn't leaked. Moffat has very recently said that it will not be The Eleven Doctors as "three are dead" and he wants 10/11 to form the backbone of the episode. He wants to do an anniversary special in a way it hasn't been done before. But he reiterates how they've only announced the cast who appear on location. It's interesting that "three are dead" is an obstacle where most people would suggest just using CGI/archive. It shows that reusing the actors is important to him. Which means those other 8 actors who aren't dead shouldn't be a problem...
Speaking of dead actors, I saw The Five Doctors earlier this month, and I must say, I think Richard Hurndall did a fine job of playing the First Doctor. Maybe not exact, but I really got the feel of the First Doctor from him. If the moment came where they'd want to recast any of the Doctors for other occasions, I don't think it would be inconceivable then for it to be done. Just depends on how it happens.
He did a good job but as Tennant famously said: "“three and a half doctors and a bloke in a wig”. It wasn't Hartnell. At the moment we're in the position where David Bradley could play the role and the Docu-drama would ease him into it. But if they were going to recast, they would've done so for TNOTD.
Erased and redeemed is essentially what i said. All who know of the Hurt Doctor after such an event would be 10, 11 and companions. It beats out "magically erased from the universe and therefore our memory" in my book. But that really requires Chris to be there as that's the only post-timewar regeneration that we haven't seen. [editline]17th July 2013[/editline] That also depends on which 10 it is. If it's 10 in between adventures with young Rose, or parallel-universe married-with-baby human doctor. Hope it's the latter. I wanna know what happened in their life afterwards. I'm one of the soulless baby-killers that loved Rose.
It is 10 from some point the The Specials. His TARDIS is present. Rose is from another point in time. Not much is known yet. This is why we see what he did with QE1.
I thought it must have been series 2 10 because his hair isn't all freaky styley like it was in the specials
It's nothing like Series 2 either, it was much longer. Also Rose's leaked costume/hairstyle suggests it's a Rose from the alt universe. Billies hair has changed a lot since she was in Doctor Who. Last 2 times she wore a wig. The stunt double has Billies current hair style to my memory. 10 is on his own (with QE1 and a TARDIS). There could've been part we didn't see 10 where had his hair flat. To be honest it's a pointless discussion. If older Doctors ageing can be explained away in Five Doctors then Tennant ageing and hair/weight change can be explain by the same reasoning. But I'm willing to bet this 10 is from between Waters of Mars and End of Time
It's not actually the Tenth Doctor at all, they're gonna pull some Red Dwarf Back to Earth shit and it's just going to be David Tennant on location for series 2 of Broadchurch [editline]blah[/editline] Also, remember dark bunny tees? http://darkbunnytees.com/doctor-who/Colin-Baker-Carrot-Juice.html and I guess we now know for certain what the "special december t-shirts" are going to be [editline]blah[/editline] One last thing: I just went on to amazon and there was an ad for a guy who sells fashion scarves: [t]http://i.imgur.com/0pTzKgc.png[/t] Something look familiar? How do you even know that 10s tardis is there? any footage with two tardises yet?

His is much brighter blue and has the St. John Ambulance sticker on it. There's another shot of the TARDIS sitting on a hill too from the first/second day of filming. [editline]17th July 2013[/editline] The rough plot of it according to the spoiler hounds is: [sp]Three different Doctors are on three different adventures when their paths cross in a big way[/sp]
Quick visit. Simply to convey that Im told that the scripts for S8 are in even worse shape that S7b . Shooting may not commence when they had originally hoped to. (And theres no longer a list of people looking to write for it., In fact a lot who have been approached have turned it down flat.)
This source double checks all his info with TDT before he posts it so it's more reliable than usual.
I have a suspicion that this is because of Moffat. As soon as he leaves, people will probably come running back. [sp]I hope this is the case, otherwise Doctor Who will be permanently fucked :([/sp]
Moffat needs to piss off.
Just finished episode 1 of season 5. Man this new intro and also the new effects overall are going to be hard to get used to.
Glad I enjoyed 7b haw haw haw haw. More third-party trouble with the show, all down to Moffat - what a fucking original idea for a story. Just my advice, but take a delay over rushes. They don't have to film until it's ready. I'm more concerned about Smith's final episode being perfect in the meantime. Doctor Who has no writers? Bollocks. Absolute bollocks. Moffat has half the series to himself. Can we not focus on positive rumours instead of doom-mongering? Like the 50th being just over 90 minutes, without extra CGI shots? Or is it 120 minutes or bust? Also, Mark Gatiss is in Game of Thrones Season 4
Moffat needs to piss off.
we have no actual proof that moffat is as big a cunt as these rumours imply they're just rumours
Can we get Moffat to quit? Can we start a petition or something? I'm getting pretty sick of him slowly driving the show into the ground
Can we get Moffat to quit? Can we start a petition or something? I'm getting pretty sick of him slowly driving the show into the ground
Start a petition to run out the showrunner. Good plan. That's always great press. It will definitely lessen the chances of a delay. I say delay, as though there's a "Doctor Who Release Date." Don't peak behind the curtain if there's a chance you won't like what you'll see.
Also, Mark Gatiss is in Game of Thrones Season 4
i just fangasm'd all over the room

I enjoyed 7 too, but everybody I spoke to who isn't a Who fan found it incredibly unenjoyable. I was at a party Saturday night where everybody had stopped watching because they thought the writing for the last two years hasn't been much good. The one person who still watches says the finale was the first good episode in years. All the children in my family that used to watch have stopped. I can see why. There's no sense of threat, nobody dies and everything is fixed in the last few seconds. The loss of the two parter was the most detrimental thing to the show in it's history. You lose pacing and building of tension. It's slap dash writing. TV has come so far in the last few years and Doctor Who has matched other TV shows with visual style but not quality. And there was an expected Doctor Who date. You think they'd produce Who without a due date. These guys have supplied 100% reliable stuff in the past. You can't accept the good news and ignore the bad. If you guys don't want to me to post when I hear bad stuff and keep your fingers in your ear just say.
