So does Moffat own the Weeping Angels then? If they wanted to use Weeping Angels in ten or fifteen years, when Steven isn't involved, would they have to ask his permission? How does it work with the current series?
Not entirely sure.
RTD is always credited for the Ood in the credits (I think they missed him accidently once). Which is interesting because he didn't write the Ood episode (leading to speculation it's one of the episode he re-wrote from scratch)
With the Daleks it was the first enemy created for the show, so they probably never expected the fact they would need to secure rights. Also they never expected Terry Nation to become such a big name.
I'm not sure how it changed over the years. But the Zygon creator was asked, he said as much. Daleks are always credited to Terry Nation Estate in the credits or Radio Times.

Radio Times' source says new Doctor is announced next month in an episode of Confidential.
Also one classic Doctor will return in the 50th.

The classic Doctor is likely [sp]Paul McGann[/sp]. I've heard the prequel that was filmed a few months ago and intended to come out next month is now part of the episode instead.
Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary show will feature one of the five former doctors who wielded the Sonic Screwdriver before the Eccleston reboot, RadioTimes.com understands.
So Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison or Paul McGann? :v:
Haha clever notice!
But I think the writer just has no idea not every Doctor used The Sonic.
I need a source on the fact the BBC doesn't own the Daleks?! It's a known fact.
As for the Julie Garland bit, I think there's a documentary on the Green Death DVD.
And the Royals generate millions of revenue to the UK. It doesn't matter what you think either, it's a bigger media event than Doctor Who having a trailer.

- The Daleks don't need to be doing very much, it's not their anniversary till a month later.
- Doctors don't need to come back. Story > Returning actors. [sp]All previous Doctors appear in the 50th, just no 'returning actors'[/sp]. You can have that spoiler for free. And even that's likely to be untrue with both Tom Baker and McGann hinting they've done stuff.
- Have you seen The Zygons story? People have been wanting them to come back since their first appearance. They are the most popular villain amongst fans. Utterly terrifying and fantastic.
- "Worth of the 50th". You really don't get it do you? It's 50 years of Who. [sp]All the fucking bad guys are it.[/sp]. But the main villain remains unnanounced. Rumours it's either Hurt Doctor or something else. Plus they're Tennants favourite enemy so it was apparently a way of convincing him to do it, offering him brief screen time with a Zygon (not that he'd need convincing).
You think Tennant we get involved if it was an unholy mess which fails to celebrate the show adequately? He's a big fan, he'd be the first to say "let's get Tom Baker in". Heck it was his idea to to Time Crash a few years ago. Plus Moffat is a fan and knows exactly what is expected and exactly what he wants as a fan.

Series 5/6 title sequence is my least favourite. Why is the vortex all cloudy?
Time travel: Cloudy with a chance of Time Lords.
I wouldn't be surprised if [sp]Tom Baker doesn't actually appear in the special, but has done some voiceover work[/sp]
Without Tom Baker the show wouldn't still be on today. He got godly viewing figures for a series that was over a decade old
I'm nearly certain the entire Dalek thing works on a set contract based thing. The reason they weren't used very much last season was because the contract wore off just after Asylum. There's no way in hell the BBC won't renew said contract, they were just waiting till it was needed - so for the 50th.
If they're in it slightly it's the same price as them being in it the entire episode or even sometimes the same as them not being in it at all.

That's very true.
But one thing that is true is the role of the Daleks. For a very long time people have been saying their role is minimal. Apparently Christmas is the big Dalek story as it's the Dalek anniversary. Possibly Davros is some rumours are to be believed.

So confused stone age people? ;)
Like I said Dalek anniversary is Christmas so it's likely there will be something for them.
Specially as Julian Bleach was apparently in Christmas-related talks.
Daleks play a big part in the 50th as the trailer obviously shows the episode is based around [sp]the Time War[/sp]. But they're not the main monster. I think Moffat has moved away from "Monster of the Week" really. I think the big bad is a bit bigger than The Doctors realise.

No, seriously. He's an arrogant dick on numerous discussion boards. Launched a tirade of hate against the BBC after one of his videos was pulled for copyright. Bashed users who tried to explain the way YouTube works. Believes himself to be the second coming of the visual effects world. I've been in those discussions - not just as an outsider making assumptions. Not rumours - his own words.
He is an asshole - and I'm not going back on that.

Despite using recognised copyrighted material in his work..
Anyone who re-uploads [any of my work] or butchers it into their own work gets a copyright strike against their account, or blocked from using youtube again if they have already had strikes in the past.• I take down about half a dozen thefts a week on here. He went ahead and got a number of accounts closed and videos pulled. Most recently, the popular 50 Years of Humanism: https://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1289736
On DS, those who tried to help him understand why the BBC was asking him to keep the videos down were named "self-appointed trolls" and he continued, regardless.
Oddly enough, living in the States and in the UK, one issue that is highlighted time and again is the perception and general reception of abilities/skills.
In the US people generally "live the american dream" and feel inclined to help others achieve as best they can. People's attitudes are such that they want others to do well and feel a glorified sense of community when others do something fantastic.
In the UK however, the general perception is that people will attempt to discredit others so much as it achieves their goal in being better than everyone else.. people will tread all over others to ensure what they achieve is more important than the contributions of others.
Xander was attempting to monetise his work and it was unsurprising that his videos were targetted. However, he didn't see it this way. A petition was launched and "fans" were encouraged to contact the BBC to reverse their position. From the response, they were bombarded with messages.
It was noted, possibly on GB - I can't be sure - that he also used multiple accounts to defend his own stance on fan blogs and websites. Debated with admins and visitors alike that the BBC were 'jealous' of his work because it was superior - and that was the only reason it was taken down.
I believe he also ranted against FOX who pulled one of the Doctor Stew videos. The claim is obvious. His defense was that it was providing publicity for Family Guy.
You take copyrighted work, modify it slightly and try to make money off it. Of course somebody is potentially going to say something. Not necessarily because they're jealous, or corporate bullies (as he out it). It doesn't matter how many hours went in to it, or how many people signed a petition citing it as superior to the official version.
I have had videos pulled for using Doctor Who clips before. Many people have. But to the majority - it's not a BBC conspiracy.
