What kind of kid jumps out of bed to feel up the walls every night?
These are extracts from the 12th Doctor audition scripts. Try not reading them in Matt Smith's voice.
Well Smith was performing most of Eleventh Hour as the 10th Doctor.
These are extracts from the 12th Doctor audition scripts. Try not reading them in Matt Smith's voice.
Can read any of them with Daniel Rigbys playful sarcasm. Curiously, the first one could be Alan Partridge also. [editline]24th July 2013[/editline] He doesn't read at all like 11 though. He's slightly more self indulgent. A lot more sarcastic and witty. Less mad... only less. [editline]24th July 2013[/editline] Actually all can be read with the voice of Chris, Matt, and David. None can be read in the voice of any of the classic Doctors. It's still hyperactive-man-child Doctor. Oh well I look forward to what happens.
Those scripts sound waaaaay too much like the 11th Doctor imo
Curiously, the first one could be Alan Partridge
Why did this remind me of this?????? Help!
THE DOCTOR: How’s the face? Seems all right from the inside. Nice action, responsive. Bit less heft on the chin.
It just sounds like something Alan would say. If you read it in his voice it's funny as hell.
New page!
Oh yeah I guessed that was the deal, same with the Clara stuff before. I guess if they gave away anything he wouldn't share them. [editline]24th July 2013[/editline] Damn you Grizz, don't delete your post and leave me hanging as a weird reply to nothing.
I genuinely want Alan Partridge to be the 12th Doctor now. Hopefully Moffat delivers on this! [editline]24th July 2013[/editline] He knows!
Didn't we previously discuss an idea for a comic relief Who special or something showing the Doctor go through various incarnations portrayed by TV personalities in-character, like Jeremy Clarkson and Philip Glenister

This TARDIS. Is the best TARDIS. In the woooorrrllld.
It just sounds like something Alan would say. If you read it in his voice it's funny as hell.
Alan Partridge is the quintessential Doctor
For all who hasn't, might i suggest you all watch Mid Morning Matters, it's quite possibly my favorite Partridge series.
Well Smith was performing most of Eleventh Hour as the 10th Doctor.
oh god i thought you said Will Smith and I got so confused
Nah I'm Alan Partridge. Slightly younger Alan failing in his personal life is endlessly funny. Like the party in the hotel, the awful fancy dress, or when he keeps being racist. I was going to make a Partridge thread and wrote out half of it but when I clicked "go advanced" all the text vanished. I remember watching Partridge thinking "Man, Coogan would be a good Doctor." He'd play it so uniquely. It'd be nice. But then I remembered his ego would eclipse the show and he's probably not the best role model in the world.
In the second series of I'm Alan Partridge (2002), the character of Alan Partridge recalls how his purchase of the rights to K-9 assisted in him mentally breaking down and driving to Dundee in his bare feet while gorging on Toblerone.

Try not reading them in Matt Smith's voice.
Well I failed that one. Still, this writing style or at-least, the way for which the doctor seems to speak, is very much Matt Smith all over, the childish, sarcastic kind of tone and wording. Or is that just me?
You can read them in the voice of 9-10-11 who all seem to be written in the same way. It's just the actor fills in the rest. Try reading it in any of their voices. The differences between 9-10-11 only exist because of how that actor chose to play him. You can take 90% of the lines from any of those Doctors and it still works for another Doctor. All three have a lot of short sentences, hyperactive, and interrupt themselves mid thought. It's just Chris made the dialogue a bit slower and snappy. David spoke it at light speed with dramatic emphasis and extending words "Weeeeeellll". Matt added some hand waving and made it seem like he was talking to himself a bit more, removing any sense of rhythm so it comes across a bit more alien. But Moffat says there's nothing you can gleam of 12s personality from these scripts. So let's not worry about it. The classic Doctors however have a lot more defining personalities from the writing. I think Moffat writes each Doctor the same. I think he was asked what sort of personality 11 would have and he bluntly replied "The Doctor".
When I was reading them, it was a combination of Matt Smith and Daniel Rigby. But the Cyber Leader thing, was all Michael Pitt in "Funny Games" for some reason...
Great interview with Matt. Jenna interrupts halfway in rather brilliantly. He talks about Ryan Gosling being inspired by the Pandorica Opens Speech, that we'll see Trenzalore again at Christmas http://www.vulture.com/2013/07/matt-smith-on-leaving-doctor-who.html
Our first scene was on the Tardis! It was me, David, and John [Hurt] actually, and we were flying the Tardis. I remember saying to Dave, “Dave, I don’t want to hog all the flying duties.” Literally, you have those conversations. Seriously, I went, “Do you want to fly it for a bit?” We all flew it. He flies his. That trailer [that debuted at Comic-Con] was fun. That got ’em going. You know what’s cool? No one put it online.

J[enna Coleman, who plays Clara, walks in the room.] Hi, Jenna! Coleman: Whatever. Smith: This is what I have to deal with every day, you see? Coleman: Quiet time now, Matt. Quiet time. Smith: She beats me down.
That's really great to read, this'll be amazing to watch.
Well Smith was performing most of Eleventh Hour as the 10th Doctor.
I'm thinking the personality will slowly wind down as the next one winds up. Also what? I didn't notice that.
Up until he steps through the Hologram Smith was intentionally acting like Tennant and Moffat was writing him more like Ten. Watch it back and be amazed. He grabs Amys hand before running, rants at a million miles per hour, and shouts a lot.
A recurring theme in many fans' outpourings of opinions on the 12th Doctor is the desire to see an 'older' actor take the part - at least, one older than fresh-faced 26-year-old Matt Smith was when he was cast - and Moffat confirmed to us that this is a strong possibility, insisting that there's no desire on the production team's part to appeal to "a Twilight demographic". "We've never not considered an older Doctor," he said. "It is completely on all the lists we make - there are absolutely older Doctors."

But just how "very different" will this new regeneration be? Moffat hinted at plans to make something a little more outlandish and subversive than Matt Smith's fairly traditional opener - "You can push that [new] Doctor a bit further, maybe, if you've got a familiar world around him," the writer said.

"The scripts [are] coming in, we know what we're going to do and how it's going to end, and what it's building to," Moffat revealed.
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s7/doctor-who/tubetalk/a501032/doctor-who-steven-moffats-5-hints-about-the-12th-doctor.html

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxftnpLBeUw The non-restricted YouTube version of the interview. :) EDIT: Also, which TARDIS will John Hurt be using I wonder. 9th/10th Doctor Era or 8th. I wonder. I'd say 8th just because after the time war that's probably when it was damaged and needed to be changed like 11th's case.

Maybe a version of 8's that's so badly damaged that the TARDIS has had to re-grow entire chunks of the console room, in the coral style of 9's.
10's TARDIS set was dismantled. They filmmed his scenes at The Doctor Who experience. We know this because the film crews and Tennant were spotted arriving the day it was closed. It's not as big, doesn't have the lighting rigs, the rotors don't move, and it's been set up to be on display (so it has the big TV screen built in. I wouldn't be surprised if any scene of Tennant in his own TARDIS is quite brief. This also means it won't be reused for Hurt (he wasn't spotted) as there's only so many shots you can do before it repeats. I'm hoping they put the AAITAS set to good use.
It'll probably just be 10 leaving the TARDIS, so like, 10 seconds or so of footage inside, and nothing more
But in the interview it said there was a scene where ten flies his own? Probably a bit more then ten seconds, but at the same time probably not much more.
