I miss John. What's up with him getting excluded everywhere?
He's been Erased.
He's been Erased.
this is getting dumb now
this is getting dumb now
No surprise.
Was going to post that the "erased" thing would be run into the ground two pages ago but decided not to. I would also prefer to have Matt regenerate halfway through an episode; I want the regen to be a climax and not a plot-point for an episode. No non-linear stuff for me in that particular situation thanks
You know what would be cool? If the 50th was Hurt Doctor's regeneration story. Chris wouldn't even have to appear, they could send him back to his own time mid-regeneration. But it would at least fill out all the Doctor's regenerations, if [sp]McGann's is happening in the episode too[/sp].

If said story ofc revolved around 10 working towards being... not 10. As in fixing whatever went wrong. Whatever then went wrong could be anything from Ood impregnation to the Master eating eggs for breakfast.

I suppose it could be done, though. I've seen a few stories here and there where the Doctor goes through some time-temporal thingy that reverses his regeneration a bit.
Only problem is that the 10th Doctor wouldn't even bother trying to fix himself. He didn't want to go, remember? :D

God, that episode was a mess - it felt like a first draft most of the time.
Was an example of an episode that would've been a better single than a double. [editline]29th July 2013[/editline]
I miss John. What's up with him getting excluded everywhere?
He's never been excluded. There's just not been a story he fits in. He was invited to Good Man Goes To War. But he was filming Torchwood. Now he spend his days in the papers every week acting like he's never been asked to return. Which is curious because he certainly has. It gives me the impression he's just desperately trying to cover up his involvement in the 50th.
He had better be in the 50th, I want him to meet 11.
Asylum of the Daleks HD is free on iTunes.
he WHAT
Yeah, he was busy doing Miracle Day, though. Maybe not the best choice given that series's reputation, but I doubt he could've just walked out.
I think I'd rather piss fire than watch it again, even though I've forgotten most of it
This should go on the back of the DVD box. that's amazing
That showed up on my facebook a few days ago, that kid must feel pretty damn special
The original planned ending for Series 1 was The Doctor looking down at a scanner in the TARDIS which had Rose's outline and the words "Life-force depleting". RTD claims this was a fake ending they were going to film and send out on review tapes to keep the regeneration a secret. But Chris was openly talking in the press about his departure so it all fell apart. Of-course RTD claims the plan was always for Chris to do one year. But other say otherwise. So it's very likely that this was the planned ending. Also look closely at the regeneration. It's not Chris at all. It's David wearing a bald cap. In the long shots you can see Davids hair (before it appear in the close up). Actually Chris doesn't throw back his arms at all, the last shot of Chris is him smiling after saying fantastic. Then suddenly his arms are back and he's covered in gold light. If you slow it down, just before the light appears, you see what looks like a terrible CGI cover up to make it look like Chris. But it's so blurry and quickly shown you don't really register it.
I was thinking, does the Doctor's inner monologue consist of his previous 'generations' as well his his current one? Just every time he looks in the mirror there's a large groan in his mind followed by "You still look like a ponce" :v:
Well I think the idea is there's only one Doctor. So only one inner monologue. Like you don't have an inner monologue of the person you were about 5 years ago and I bet you were a very different person. Also, Tumblr can throw up some gems: [editline]29th July 2013[/editline] Such a good dynamic. Uh I wish we could see it on screen longer.
Matt just seems to have a good dynamic with everyone.
On a subject of Chris's departure, on the theory of "He left suddenly", do you think it showed a bad light on how things worked out early on? Maybe there was too much of a fanboy atmosphere that he didn't get, or maybe their particulars was too much for him (I watched the first Series 1 confidential, he didn't seem to enjoy the multiple takes it took to get the "run across Westminster Bridge with a London Double Decker in the background" scene)? Or maybe Chris just wasn't taking in the humor of Barrowman presumably going nude on set (I heard that somewhere, I think)?
Matt just seems to have a good dynamic with everyone.
Matt seems like the kind of guy that's just really cool to hang out with

His decision to leave after one series was probably cemented by the producers alleged bullying of him during production.

But other things too. There are various reports of him losing his shit and doing a Tom Baker during Aliens of London. He didn't get on with that director anyway but at one point he apparently ranted "I may have to act it, but at least I don't have to watch this shit". [editline]30th July 2013[/editline] I think he was expecting a very different show to what he got. I think he saw the first script he saw from RTD, liked it, and decided to take the job based on the quality of Davies' past work with him. I don't think he really expected it to be all that cheesy and fluffy. I can only really recall him praising Moffats actual series writing. When speaking about RTD he only really mentioned past work.
http://blogtorwho.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/doctor-who-complete-seventh-series_30.html Series 7 Box Set will now include The Doctor, The Widow, and The Wardrobe and the prequel. It is now a 5 disk set. [editline]30th July 2013[/editline]
@shakesby_vivien heard a whisper that you are going to be in the 50th anniversary dr who, plz say its true x @pauljmcgann Yes, I keep hearing similar. Truth is I didn't so much as visit their set as I was away working. Nor was I invited to. @laguaracquel how about the rumor of minisode about the 8th Doctor regenerating for the 50th anniversary? @pauljmcgann I've often wondered if rumours, like jokes, aren't all started by the same excitable child or bored old man.
So not a denial on the minisode rumour.
