I can't see why everybody is listening to this rumour on GB and DS. The guy has never posted a rumour of any kind before so has no track record, the notion of the BBC doing a 'temporary casting' is mad and pointless, he's just too busy to be doing it.
Equally Capaldi is quite busy too.

Capaldi is more likely - he has a lot of small projects waiting to be released but he is done acting. No more Thick Of it and The Hour has been cancelled, so he is free of any recurring roles.
Plus, he is a huge Doctor Who fan - seemingly bigger than David was. There is no reason to rule him out yet. Also, the triple figure bets

Nearly all betting agents have stopped taking bets today after another surge on Capaldi and Rigby.

I actually hope it is someone we have seen from Doctor Who, but only like from 1 episode and not an important character. Like the 6th doctor, he was in Doctor Who before he was even the Doctor.
Commander Maxil is the character Colin played, 1 year before the first (re-)appearance of (Colin) the 6th Doctor.
I just hope it's somebody who'll be different from Ten and Eleven. A slightly more serious Doctor with a dryer, sarcastic sense of humour would be a nice change.
I also doubt it would be a female, since even though Time Lords can change their appearance, I highly doubt they can change their Gender.

I agree with you, but not about David. Even if we do not get a more Serious Doctor, I hope they level the use of "Power of Love" and the Sonic Screwdriver. I mean seriously, he uses it for nearly everything now, speaking of that I hope the 12th Doctor doesn't get bad writing like the 11th did. I still personally dislike the 11th because of the horrible writing Season 5-Series 7 Part 1. Series 7 Part 2 was the best season with the 11th.
