The BBC is now operating in Gallifrey Base and banning those who post true rumours.
Trouble In Cardiff I have stayed quiet for too long on this, but as a dedicated fan of Doctor Who I feel it is my duty to inform the world of dear fans out there about the trouble that is not just brewing in South Wales, but about to explode like Vesuvius on Volcano Day. It is with a heavy heart that I say the man that everyone thought would be the saviour of Doctor Who, Steven Moffat, looks like being the man who may actually end it. Moffat's chortling friendliness hides a man with few friends and growing enemies. It masks a man who is tyrannical and ruthless, who is bad tempered and rude. It shields a man who's personal life is as in much disarray as his professional one, but that is not something I will go into here in great detail. The BBC are desperate to keep a hold of Steven Moffat because, whatever the fans and critics say about Doctor Who, he has delivered them huge ratings, and with that he has delivered them huge profits, in merchandise and overseas sales. He's also created another worldwide hit, Sherlock. The problem is that Steven Moffat knows this, and has used it to become almost meglomaniacal in his approach to Executive Production. The result is Cardiff in meltown and the series of Doctor Who floundering on the edge of said volcano. Problems fly around the Production of Doctor Who like a blizzard. Here is what is wrong: An inability to work with the BBC on an executive level, leading to rows with other producers An inappropriate working relationship with Caro Skinner, leading to a public row and her ousting. Senior BBC officials taking a hands on approach to the production after an internal scandal A huge and antagonistic falling out with the series leading man, Matt Smith, about the treatment of former Doctors in preparation of The Anniversary Show. Smith was furious that former Whos were not informed of Moffat's intentions. An intense and paranoid jealousy on Moffat's part on the success of Russell T Davies. Moffat does not have the same carte blanche Davies had on the series franchise - with things like The Sarah Jane Adventures and Torchwood outwith his remit. Moffat's anger at not being allowed to create his own spin off series. Skinner and Moffat's alleged rudeness to Christopher Eccleston's procrastinating which lead to Eccleston refusing to do the Anniversary Show at the eleventh hour (excuse that pun) This will be reflected in the Hurt character Moffat has been offered a position AWAY from Who for the eighth series and has refused to go. The eighth series is ONLY being worked on by Moffat, but NO ONE ELSE including the BBC will commit to it after Christmas. The BBC DO NOT want Moffat to continue. He is refusing to budge. Huge budget cuts in series 5 and 6 meant that Moffat's original plans had to be curtailed half way through production. This lead to confusing story lines and continuation arcs. Big named writers where dumped at the last minute. Moffat directly responsible for the split seasons and, worst, the dumping of EIGHT half written scripts. You may ask yourself why this is important information. It is important because, as of writing, Doctor Who seems unlikely to return in its present form after Christmas. Moffat's plans are not those of the BBC. They may well lose Matt Smith and Jenna Louise Coleman who have committed but on a pro-rata time scale. If these issues cannot be rectified - and soon - Doctor Who may go into a semi-permanent hiatus, and return as a series of TV Movies or extended episodes once every eighteen months. Posted by The Whistleblower
Before you ask. Yes. Reliable. Mainly because the BBC supposedly had it taken down. TLDR: - Moffat was seemingly having an affair with Skinner (uhhh) - BBC can't get rid of Moffat because he'll take Sherlock with him - Smith is leaving because he is furious that past Who actors have been shunted for the 50th - Moffat and Skinner were consistently rude to Eccleston so he dropped out - Moffat refuses to let Who go - The BBC have tried everything to get him out. Offered him other jobs and cut budgets. The cut budgets effected his scripts and story arcs were dropped mid series. - Series 8 has been abandoned by the BBC in an attempt to get rid of Moffat I really don't know if this is to be believed but reliable people have said elements of it are very true. It's also worth noting since Series 6, Moffat and Smith have appeared in less interviews together and spoke less friendly of eachother. Also a reliabled source says the Mirror apparently wrote a lovely piece about RTD the other day, Moffat was furious and demanded they do the same for him. They told him they'd rather do it for RTD again.

The thing with this one is it's different to any in the past. Usually the leaks are about episode details. A lot of trusted leakers in the Who community (who don't post on GB but browse it purely to see if what they're hearing is confirmed) only ever keep their leaks to a tight circle of friends because they know how wrong sources can be when it comes to TV. Yet they're all coming out of the woodwork to say this blog post has hit the nail on the head. From what I've heard from people who have met Moffat. It sounds very much like him. RTD kept mostly the same producers from start to finish. Producers are quitting on Moffat all the time. Skinner was in a very public row with Moffat before she was suddenly no longer working on Doctor Who. She hasn't posted on Twitter since. [editline]29th April 2013[/editline] It's worth noting GB isn't where I'm hunting most of these spoilers now. I double check to see what is being mentioned there and if it adds up with what I'm hearing. But the BBC is very much in operation at GB. Which is very peculiar. They've never done this. PR teaches you that everything they're doing is wrong. Every time they ban or silence a user it confirms whatever they posted. One could suggest they are very intentionally doing it, along with not running the trailers on TV, and moving the show about in the schedules. It's almost like they're trying to sabotage the show so they have an excuse to take their power hungry showrunner away from Doctor Who yet still keep him for Sherlock.
Here's hoping Mark Gatiss will be the plucky young hero who swoops in and de-thrones the tyrannical AbsorbaMoff
Yeah see I don't know if we should worry about it until we really know for certain. But it's worth thinking about. If the synopsis on the same blog about Episode 13 turns out to be true- then we can assume this is too.
Though weren't there rumors too about Moffat stepping down? And I think he himself mentioned how tiring it was running the whole show. Unless he wants to still be critically involved but not be stressed about having to run every important aspect.
-snip- Sorry, Won't happen again.
Eh, this whole ordeal about Moffat's potential craziness is mucking my Who hype for the 50th. So much potential lost because of this? *Image of crying Doctor/s here*

I don't want Doctor Who to die.. :(
Guys relax. Only panic if that synopsis of Episode 13 turns out to be true as it was from the same blog.
Slander until absolutely proven otherwise in my eyes. The 'abandoned S8' bit screams bullshit. If true, the BBC really are a sorry bunch if they're afraid of one of their producers. Yes, I found wi-fi.
Maybe Moffat has despised Doctor Who since the beginning, and this was his plan the whole time?!
Here, I had to make this
Doctor Who is turning into Network behind the scenes - holy shit!
Okay, let's try to relax. How about Sylvester McCoy being amusing?

[editline]29th April 2013[/editline]
Okay, let's try to relax. How about Sylvester McCoy being amusing?
That's really impressive actually. [editline]29th April 2013[/editline]
Here, I had to make this
That's REALLY impressive actually. (ps your description is wrong. Whistleblower wasn't a GB member. It's just the rumour is BBC had the post taken down and anybody mentioning it had their post deleted on GB) BUT EVERYBODY CHILL. These things could've been deleted because of libel. If the Whistleblower synopsis to the finale has some truth to it we can panic. At the moment all we got is a missing blog post and some ex-gb members saying elements of it are true. Let's just wait and see. Plus it goes against what Trackboy (or was it TDT) says which is that Chris dropped out due to time constraints.
IThat's REALLY impressive actually. (ps your description is wrong. Whistleblower wasn't a GB member. It's just the rumour is BBC had the post taken down and anybody mentioning it had their post deleted on GB)
Fixed it up with your explanation because I can't words right now properly. And I can't tell if you're sarcastic on the impressive bit or if you mistyped it to be for the Sylvester McCoy clip. :v: Either way that's nothing, once I get the lipsync done I'm recreating a scene in SFM. Davros is the shit
I hope he comes back. Davies mentioned in a Confidential that Davros never dies or something like that. He always has an escape pod or two up his sleeve in emergencies.
If Davros doesn't appear in the next 50 years I'll eat every hat
Weren't there problems with showrunners also happening in Classic Who?
Weren't there problems with showrunners also happening in Classic Who?
All I know is that people got pissed at John-Nathan Turner for making the show go all 80s on us. Things like this were brand recognition, I hear, and appearently it was part of JNT's best efforts to keep the show afloat, as BBC's runners at the time weren't fond of the show at that point.

JNT saw it as a fame project. His first year on the job he went on holiday to a Doctor Who convention leaving his writers with no scripts at the start of production. It was all about the attention for JNT, he ended up using his position on the show to touch little boys. There was a sudden and massive dip in quality when he took over and that's when the BBC stopped caring. i pretty much completely believe the moffat rumours. They may be sensationalised perhaps, but the nitty-gritty is still there. I just wish we could have a solid show for once in almost fifty years without any behind the scenes affecting the story.
this was discovered last year, which can only mean one thing: it has broken the time-lock. it is returning, from the dark.
Moffat did it. Now we are [sp]Moffucked[/sp]

Found this fan remake of the new intro, alot better i reckon
Found this fan remake of the new intro, alot better i reckon
I would have done a key hole zoom.

The drums at 0:08 aren't there in the current version. Which is a shame, because they sounded great. [editline]30th April 2013[/editline] Also, now streaming: all of Season 7 (Jon Pertwee's first season) http://livestream.com/coolcorky (I won't be around to keep an eye on it though, but it should automatically play the next episode)
