Any information on how the daleks suddenly remember who The Doctor is?
I would imagine it's because they're the timelocked daleks from the time war? That would be my first guess considering this episode is focused around that.
Yep. Time-War Daleks Probably won't take them long to restore memories anyway. There's a large Doctor-shaped hole they can fill in. [editline]6th August 2013[/editline]
dude that was fucking clever for whomever decided he should do that
Himself obviously..

[editline]6th August 2013[/editline] I realized if I said to like one of the people at BBC, that I watched every Doctor Who episode, I doubt they would believe me.

Aw man I hope Matt still has his head shaved if he is the Doctor in the Christmas special. That would be amazing.
He looks like he is pulling his shirt.
Getting ready to back Moffat up in his local
I don't know if this is canon but wow. It also has Ian and Barbra.
But if one more person mentions he was in "the Roman episode" I'll punch a cat.
Had an argument with my sister over Facebook about that. She doesn't even watch the flipping show I don't think. She was like "they have to explain it, they've never had an actor who's been in an episode before play the doctor, if they said that he was using the chameleon arch then it would be better" or whatever. I reasoned that it would be far worse if they tried to explain it, and that they didn't HAVE to explain anything, since a) we all know it's just a show and that the Doctor is an actor anyway, and b) explaining something like that would just complicate things and make the overall show worse. Or something along those lines anyway
Okay, there is NOTHING that says The Doctor cannot take the face and shape of someone he's met before. NOTHING AT ALL.

And that Amy was in the same episode with Peter Calapdi, same with Martha before she was a companion. Don't you like the 12th?
I don't know if this is canon but wow. It also has Ian and Barbra.
Anything that isn't a TV episode is supposedly non-canon (apart form The Adventure Games). But. The general attitude is accept is as canon unless it is contradicted by the TV series. Doctor Who Magazine comic strips have been adapted into full episodes (The Lodger). Also the TV production team has stopped certain comic strips going to print as it will contradict a future story (the comic team were stopped halfway through production on an 8th-9th regeneration story back in 2005). So I accept comics as canon, but any contradiction would mean I disregard that story. That one is so far un-contradicted. And is pretty awesome. [editline]6th August 2013[/editline] RTD explained in an interview that the reason Peter Capaldi played the guy in Pompei and Froshiber was because they were distant relatives. Like to see him explain this one.
This might sound silly (and might get made fun of) but I actually want to learn how to act so I can be The Doctor when I am older.
This might sound silly (and might get made fun of) but I actually want to learn how to act so I can be The Doctor when I am older.
what kind of dummy becomes an actor just because they like doctor who gosh [t]http://i1.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article1487875.ece/ALTERNATES/s2197/Peter%20Capaldi-1487875[/t]
Sorry
Well David and Peter Capaldi were born in Scotland.
Sometimes I see people who look identical and they're not related. I suppose if we had the entirety of space and time, it stands to reason that it's POSSIBLE we could find an identical doppelgänger of ourselves. I doesn't matter anyway. Romana once based her regeneration on the person she met in the story before. The Doctor was briefly confused but quickly stopped giving a fuck. The Master wanted to be young and became young. Clearly Timelords can regenerate to template if they want.
It'd be even harder for me :v: see location (fuck I love capaldi by the way) [editline]6th August 2013[/editline]
Well David and Peter Capaldi were born in Scotland.
It's in the UK though.
Well David and Peter Capaldi were born in Scotland.
Still British. I imagine in 20 years though we would've had a couple of Americans or Australians. I personally want a Chinese actor to do it. Maybe like a cerebral Bruce Lee. Wise old chinese stereotype. "Doctor it's Daleks! They will wipe out all life!" "Grasshopper. Do not think like the raging bull" "Doctor this really isn't the time for-" "Walk gentle. Speak gentle. Be gentle" "For fucks sake"
Oh, well my dreams are crushed.
What stories do you guys want with Capaldi?
Good ones.
So? Don't you like the 12th?
Of course I do. In fact he'll probably get me watching Doctor Who again, more than Matt Smith did.
I can't see him being much different from the last two. Still a bit hyper. Just with an air of authority and wisdom.
I think the 50th will also excite some people and by some I mean everyone
Then again he's been working on this role since he was about 5 so hopefully it'll be somewhat unique. [editline]6th August 2013[/editline]
What stories do you guys want with Capaldi?
In seriousness- Zygons. Big mysteries on a galactic level. Less wibbly wobbly. It loses the impact. It would be my dream if he had an element of Gandalf or Dumbledore to the performance. That presence those two characters have is extraordinary. Everything they say feels well thought out and wise. I'd like that. Gandalf with ADHD. "Space Gandalf" is what Eleven said. But I'd like to see it more in his personality than his morals.
So out of curiosity, why exactly (specifically) can't I be the Doctor? (Well Australians)
So out of curiosity, why exactly (specifically) can't I be the Doctor? (Well Australians)
Because England is very nationalist.
I hope Capaldi has a genuinely good Dalek story, in the vein of 2005's Dalek.
So out of curiosity, why exactly (specifically) can't I be the Doctor? (Well Australians)
You see the controversy for a black Doctor or woman Doctor? None over a non-British Doctor.... Because people dare not mention a non British Doctor. I remember a big name actor turning down the 8th Doctor because he was an American. I remember the sheer outrage on Digital Spy and Gallifrey Base because Chris O'Dowd MIGHT be The Doctor and he's Irish. No doubt a non British actor will one day take the role. When they do people will throw toys out of the pram. Daily Mail will blame immigrants. Then people will realise he's pretty good. But right now I can't see it. Doctor Who is VERY British. The humour. The writing. The mythos. The TARDIS is designed after a British icon. There's no reason why The Doctor couldn't be Australian at all. But it sure as hell wouldn't feel right.
