People are still angry that George Lazenby was an Australian Bond. Also, the odds of actually getting to play the doctor are quite slim, there's about an infinity of actors and people wanting to play the Doctor and James Bond.

http://flicksided.com/2013/08/06/doctor-who-did-idris-elba-turn-down-iconic-role/ That said. I doubt Elba was offered 12. Paterson Joseph probably is the one Gaiman is talking about. Joseph is a friend of Gaiman and is ALWAYS on the list of people who should play The Doctor.
I'm British, and I can act... Where do I sign up?
Watching some classic stuff, I really like Romana II as a companion Shit spelt her name wrong
Anybody should be allowed to play The Doctor. It's called learning how to play a British person. Nationality of character means nothing to a good actor.
Yes, but people are presumtive and stupid, and that's the way it is.
Like I said, it's nationalism. What is British must remain British else it become tainted.
Watching some classic stuff, I really like Ramona II as a companion
I fancy Romana II
I fancy Romana II
She's adorable [editline]6th August 2013[/editline] Plus it's nice to see a Timelord companion
I knew a girl who looked identical to Romana and I never fancied her so it's the Time Lord effect. Now I see why girls swoon for Matt Smith and David Tennant.
Apropos that picture: http://fourthdoctorcostume.blogspot.dk/2013/08/the-best-romana-cosplayer-ever.html
Age is a disease
Romana II is the most attractive companion
Least revealing too, next to Ace. Actually Romana II may be the only classic companion I find attractive. Maybe Nyssa. Clara and Amy are the most attractive of the whole show though.
So, are they going to start uploading stuff about the Eighth Doctor on the Doctor Who YouTube channel? I know that there's nothing about him other than the movie, but what else could they possibly do? [sp]Oh god regeneration into John Hurt pls[/sp]

Probably a longshot, but still...
They'll upload clips of the movie probably.
I wouldn't mind Neil Gaiman becoming head writer after moffat with this new doctor.
I wouldn't mind Neil Gaiman becoming head writer after moffat with this new doctor.
I would. The Doctor's Wife script was HEAVILY modified by Moffat and while Nightmare in Steel was okay it definitely wasn't the best.
I just finished watching The Thick of It, Capaldi is the fucking best.
I would. He said the director was new and hacked it to bits and it got edited to huggery until it was nothing like he wanted

I don't understand
I would. The Doctor's Wife script was HEAVILY modified by Moffat and while Nightmare in Steel was okay it definitely wasn't the best.
Hello. That's bullshit. Nightmare in Silver was fucked by the director according to Gaimans PA who sometimes posts on GB. The script made the Cybermen stealthily stalk the castle before sneaking in through the shadows and taking everybody out one by one. There was no marching. No stomping sound effect. It was apparently a much creepier story. Which lost all tone and style in the transition to screen. Apparently Gaiman was miffed as to why direction was given to a newcomer. Gaiman himself in a BBC interview started talking about how disappointed he was with how Nightmare in Silver was made when he was cut off. But Moffat rewriting The Doctors Wife? You're talking out of your arse. It wasn't THAT dramatic. The Satan Pit was "HEAVILY modified" but this story was only slightly modified. The only involvement Moffat had in that story was when Gaiman had wrote in an explanation as to why The Doctor ran from Gallifrey. Gaiman emailed Moffat and asked him if it was okay and Moffat told him to take it out as the real reason was too horrible for a single episode. Gaiman started writing the story before Matt was cast with Tennant in mind. He had to redraft it after that. He wrote it for series 5. It was pushed back to 6 and he had to rewrite again to remove references to cracks and include Rory. This meant the entire second half was rewritten. Several scenes had to be removed due to budget cuts including a pool scene, so he had to rewrite it AGAIN. He had to remove his own monster and replace it with an Ood due to lack of budget, so he rewrote it again. After rewriting it for the millionth time he got pissed off and told Moffat to just add some finishing touches. Moffat wrote some dialogue, what Gaiman called "several of the best lines". He then removed elements the budget couldn't support, slightly rewriting some so they could afford them. Superficial details. The story, the tone, the feel was all Gaiman. [editline]7th August 2013[/editline]
I don't understand
Unfunny cunts. Clearly thinks Doctor Who is some minor cult show. Like to see him still running in 50 years. [editline]7th August 2013[/editline]
I wouldn't mind Neil Gaiman becoming head writer after moffat with this new doctor.
He won't do it. He refuses. He doesn't like the budget constraints or have the time to do it. He was surprised he did one let alone two episodes. We won't get anymore from Gaiman I imagine. Next showrunner will be Gatiss or Chibnall. Both are life long fans who kept Doctor Who alive during the years it was off air (like RTD and Moffat). I would choose Chibnall if anybody. Broadchurch was INCREDIBLE and that was all him. Plus I like his Doctor Who, it's usually quite dark, real, and deals with some great issues. Apart from Dinosaurs which was still fun. I don't like any of Gatiss' stories. Though his Sherlock ones are the shit.
Unfunny cunts. Clearly thinks Doctor Who is some minor cult show. Like to see him still running in 50 years.
christ its a joke :v:
If the punchline of the joke is "kill yourself" it's an awful attempt at humor in far too many ways. [editline]7th August 2013[/editline] For a while there I forgot why I disliked Jimbo. Now I remember.
-snip-
no i think the message is that the extreme doctor who fans should stop telling people who haven't even heard of the show about capaldi alright maybe it's not very funny but it isn't just a 'kill urself uhuhu' joke
The Satan Pit was "HEAVILY modified"
What? Do explain - I never knew this
Against my better judgement, I looked up NeonVisual's Facebook page to see if he mentioned how he slammed a nice tribute video about the Doctor & Humanity with Copyright Infringement for "his" intros. I was not prepared for the comments. Welp, I guess that's where he can keep his fanboys, I'm out then. Still, it's infuriating to me that I only ever saw that video once. Can't the guy just edit the vid with a different intro and let us see it again, or does NeonVisual now have a vendetta against the guy?
