Just saw The Guardian did a thing on the strengths and weaknesses of each Doctor. Each was accompanied by a picture. They called Matt Smiths Doctor "Arrogant and Vein" and this picture. They think this is him in costume as The Doctor. If you're going to bash Matt Smith, please watch the show. Arrogant and vein? Surely he's the least arrogant or vein Doctor so far? Fucking idiots. They also wrote Pertwee never battled the Cybermen. Genius. [editline]9th August 2013[/editline] That is fucking atrocious. It's not even a real orchestra. It's all out of tune and all over the place. Here is Murray Golds original composition for the 2005 theme tune. He changed it quite late after deciding it was the wrong tone.
It's not out of tune, that's just your opinion. I'm sick of your aggressive responses and your "I know best" attitude, you're not the foremost authority on everything Doctor Who related and you act as though your opinion is fact, it's NOT. Welcome to my ignore list.
-Snip, I'm not going to argue with that. If you think I was being aggressive I'm sorry but it wasn't my intention. I've gone looking through old posts and I mostly post trivia/news/chat and flippant comments, so I don't know what that rant came from. Sorry I've been a dick to you, I didn't realise-
Didn't post about it at the time because but I'm glad Peter Capaldi is the Doctor. They need a mature serious Doctor again.
What the fuck? It's obviously my opinion. Do you want me to write "In my opinion" after everything? I respect peoples opinions and let them have them. If I was acting like "the foremost authority" of Doctor WHo I probably would've personally insulted you after you said you liked it. Which I didn't. Sorry I came across that way, it's not my intention. I'm often worried I do. I try to limit my opinion, most the stuff I post is interesting trivia and news tibbits I stumble upon. Calm down. People have opinions. Sorry mine offend you. Also thanks for going through and rating all my posts dumb. You've really handled this maturely, to think I actually liked you. Also I haven't got an aggressive bone in my body so that came a bit left field.
Hmm, Well sorry. That's just the impression I got from your posts. It's hard to maintain maturity when you have a short fuse.

Just next time if you have a problem PM me and discuss it like adults? Instead of losing your rag infront of everybody.

Original Theme for lyfe.
My series 1-4 box set arrived today :3, nice little black box it comes in, sorry for large image <3.
I got mine not long ago. Days before the blu-ray set was announced.
Never really thought about buying it myself but I just thought I would as it's a series I love but yeah, i'd get the blu ray version when ever it's released?
Gonna wait for Blu Ray. US release is $250. But that comes with the Sonic-Screwdriver remote. Hopefully it'll be more around £80 and without the remote when it comes here with some unique art. Apparently the slight blur and fuzz on Series 1 & 2 has been removed.

I wish my grandma watched Doctor Who :( Somebody emailed the BBC for info about the Blu Ray set:
Summary: - Release date for the set should be in the first half of November. The exact week isn't pinned down yet. - Covers everything from "Rose" to "The Name of the Doctor," so 102 episodes. On-disc contents should include all the extras that are on the existing DVD or Blu-ray sets. - Includes an Eleventh Doctor Sonic Screwdriver Remote Control (normally sells for $100, or the one I got did), and some other not-yet-specified knick-knacky sort of items. - SRP is $349.98. - Every episode is being up-converted from whatever it was originally shot in to 1080p. Yes, that's a p. The 1080i stuff of Series 5 to 7 (and the Tennant specials) is also being boosted up to 1080p. - The series 1 to 4 Blu-Ray sets will be made available separately, but not until the middle of 2014, and not all at once. They'll be staggered a bit. - The already-existing 1080i Blu-Ray sets will continue to be sold. They may eventually be reissued in their 1080p form, but it sounds like that's in the even more distant future.
Also as sort of alluded to in my previous post: Every S1 and S2 that had Ernie Vincze as Director of Photography will have the weird filter he put over the footage removed. The one that makes it look like retro porn.
Not sure if I'm late, but some guy made a tumblr post claiming that it was the new Doctor Who opening music but it was just the Seinfeld theme, so tumblr kids freaked the heck out thinking that it was legitimate. Link Here. I decided to go all-out and make a video for it. I figured you guys would like it. Surprisingly, it syncs pretty well.
Somebody beat you to it, I'm afraid. But the video is appreciated.

Filming starts January on S8, then?
"thanks", "for what", "exactly*kisses*"... wow watching these episodes reminds me of when 9th doctor started on tv, me and my dad and family started watching it every week
I'm a little late to the "coolest opening themes" party, but I really like the version from the 1997 PC game: "Destiny of the Doctors". It's got the same feel as the Eccleston/Tennant intro. The theme starts at about 2:47. It's pretty good in my opinion.
this requires reposting still my favourite piece of music and my favourite episode(s) ever [editline]9th August 2013[/editline] yeah i know part of it is the doctor forever but the rest of it is amazing as well

For example, the final video has a different theme tune during a sequence of Doctor Who intro clips, and just before that, the uploader added "This is Gallifrey" to the climax scene:
Filming starts January on S8, then?
Think Jenna said so in an interview. Which goes along with the leaked email. Filming should go on for 6 months. So we should get Series 8 this time next year. Which means a long wait to Capaldi :( [editline]9th August 2013[/editline] Proms TV broadcast is two weeks from today. Maybe if we're lucky a 50th trailer will be attached? Probably optimistic.
So is Series 8 gonna be split up as well?
Probably, but if it's not I'll be really happy.
Well the leaked BBC Worldwide email said it would be a complete run of 10 episodes leading to Christmas which will conclude the series.
10?
That's what it said. Better than 6 this year and 7 next though? I think it has something to do with how they sell episodes to BBC America. They sell them in groups of four and because of the 50th it knocks it all out for some reason. I don't know much about selling TV internationally so I won't pretend to but that's what most fans speculate is the reason. Apparently it was planned to be a split season but it wouldn't be fair on the actor taking over The Doctor, you wouldn't have enough time to get used to him.
10 somehow seems little but it's 2 and a half months of Doctor Who, which is neat. I'm going to just focus on your title again :v:
Please do! It cost somebody else enough money that I'd hate to go to waste. Just re-read the thread from when Capaldi was announced. Fucking quality posting.
Well done ThePutty for guessing Capaldi in June. http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1265854&p=40936677&viewfull=1#post40936677 I know Monk mentioned it too but I can't find it and he's perma'd so shit happens. I always feel overwhelming shame when looking back through my old posts.
