It's really easy because only one has eyebrows.
What do you do with life CowInParachute? How dare you do anything apart from posting on Facepunch and making Doctor Who music!
I believe he's currently station manager of a local radio station in Scotland
Hey I'm a station manager!
Of a student radio station...
in Bedfordshire...
We're online so we have a potential audience of 7 billion!

Send a link - I want to be your first ever listener

I can see you channeling the Partridge while doing it
Send a link - I want to be your first ever listener
No. It's in a shambles. I take over managing officially in October but I'm putting plans into place now. Then maybe I'll send it to you if I fix it. Right now the online player is in a terrible state and I have no idea to fix it and the Uni tech team were made redundant.
I can see you channeling the Partridge while doing it
Well we're both from East Anglia!
There's a lot of Partridges in student/community radio. There's a guy who did a sports program who used to do "sports theme of the week" and he would play an entire song which is in some way related to a sport. He would play it multiple times in the show and sometimes between songs. The poor listener was getting some obscure 3 minute classical theme from some BBC broadcast of a commonwealth games in the 90's. People had to guess the year/artists/title to win. Nobody ever guessed so he'd get me in as I was the next show. I know nothing about sport so just intentionally tried really hard to derail his show as it was heavily scripted. It was essentially the Dave Clifton/Alan Partridge scene from the sitcom. Except I'm not an alcoholic. His other feature was "gag of the week" where he played a clip from his show the previous week and then did a forced laugh and said how funny it was.
Actually one of the writers said he was driving through Bedfordshire when he was flicking through local stations finding Partridge inspiration. He mentioned the BBC station which is across the road from our studio.
But anywhooo.. back to Doctor Who:
Anybody watched Series 5 lately and been surprised at how young Matt looks?
Remember the first time we saw his face in that confidential. That was a shitty reveal. He looked so young and emo. Now he has swagger. He's aged like a fine wine.
Also can I just say how good Zoe Ball was on the Twelve reveal? Came across as a genuine fan excited to be there. Her dad worked at the BBC and she used to spend a lot of time at the studios. Apparently she would always go and just sit around in The Doctor Who sets watching them making it as she liked it so much. She handled the show and live reveal very well. It could've been a really tacky show and other than the pointless celebrity live appearances it managed to come across professional.

Can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, because I thought she was shit.
Really? I think she was one of the plus points. She's not the best female presenter in the world but she knows her Doctor Who and had genuine interest.
It was the guests that threw me. One of the kids from Outnumbered? They cancelled that. What a totally random grab.

ok, who's gonna draw Capaldi?
Capaldi really is huge fan.
It makes me excited for his era. The conventions will be great. I wonder how many people will ask him to swear at them. At least he'll understand the fans.

Peter Capaldi and Craig Ferguson
Every Doctor has to be in drag at one point.

Good - in Series 7, she was basically plot device lady with only a few hints of characterisation. I was skeptical of Clara as a character because there would be a time where she was no longer plot device lady and potentially would not be developed any further, making her a terrible companion. I'm glad that this is not the case.

cool. she barely showed emotion through the series which made me question her humanity.
I really liked the scene in Hide where she saw the dark depressing future of the world and realises everything will die.
How are we all watching the 50th? I personally will be going to see it in the cinema (if a 2D screening is available). I might go a second time to see it in 3D if it's re-run.
I'm watching it at home with my family on the TV. :D
EDIT: If you want to watch it in 2D but there's no 2D screening available, get a pair of these:

EDIT2: Apparently they're out of stock at Amazon but you should be able to buy them from somewhere.
Alright, screw it. I'm going to get as many Classic Doctor Who episodes as I can and watch them

I already have it!
Watched part 1 and 2.
Odd, odd, but not very bad. Not used to the very early 60s yet.

Yeah, don't watch that. Quality is dreadful.
It seems to be ripped from the VHS release. The DVD release has remastered sound and video. They've removed all the film grain and dust giving it a crystal clear image and sound quality.
If you're going to watch Classic Who either buy the DVDs or look online for DVD-rip streams/downloads. But that takes a hella long time. Trust me. The DVDs are really worth it anyway. Come with tons of special features.

Oh also! An Unearthly Child isn't a very good story. Part 1 is great but it kinda drops from there and the show was nearly cancelled. It wasn't being well received by critics but word of mouth was good.
The Daleks is where it was saved and started scoring millions of viewers.
I got all 8 eps of the first season, not sure how complete they are
i got them in a way.
Not sure how much I'll like this, I got the others if I want them.
[editline]12th August 2013[/editline]
I'll finish An Unearthly Child, I don't like skipping stuff
Yeah Classic-Who is an acquired taste. Didn't quite like it at first myself but believe me you do warm to it once you 'get it'. It took me many many serials before I 'got it'. Then it's very hard to distinguish it from the current series. Just remember that they weren't designed for marathons. Each part was supposed to be watched with a weeks gap between.
Also this early in the show nobody knew what to expect. That shot at the end of part 1 of a police box in a dusty old plain was groundbreaking. Now it's how we start every episode :v:
The word Timelord isn't mentioned until the end of The Second Doctors era. It's very different.
I like this one the best:

When I heard John hurt's doctor say the line "I had no choice", and how the 11th said he was no longer the doctor for his actions I remembered these things straight away.
