Beyond the series itself, I'm seeing a bit of cool anniversary stories that the other mediums have been doing.
Appearently the IDW comics people are doing a plotline involving all 11 Doctors being stalked by a shadowy guy [sp]stealing their companions in an attempt to change his timeline. Rather dramatic, I hear.[/sp]
Meanwhile, the good folks at Big Finish teamed up with AudioGo to be able to publish a line called Destiny of the Doctor where the can do a story with each incarnation. Even the New Series ones that are usually off limits to them. Even better, the plotline connecting the seemingly-random tales is [sp]Eleven dropping in to provide helpful hints and assistance for his earlier incarnations to follow.[/sp]
Makes me wish I could afford more Who merch.
I just got caught up with the series, up to Journey to the Center of the Tardis, and I have to say, reading upon all you guy's banter and posts and stuff, I really didn't notice all the much difference in quality. The only 2 episodes I didn't like/found ridiculous were the ones where: [sp] There was a team dedicating to finding the Doctor, led by the fat guy who absorbed people, dear god that was stupid imo, I was watching in my living room and that was the first episode she'd seen of DW, and I was just like "no wait its not what you think". Only other episode I found semi-ridic. was one of the recent ones where "THEY'RE IN THE WIFIIIII". [/sp]
Side note, what ever happened to Russell Davies or w/e, I remember seeing his name a lot and always liking the ones that said were by him.

Wow. This is so interesting from a fan perspective. You genuinely know nothing outside of the show and as a result your enjoyment hasn't been influenced.
Russell T Davies (RTD) was lead writer of the show since it came back in 2005. However he felt he had done enough in 2009 and announced he was leaving. Producer Julie Garland and David Tennant left along with him. January 1st 2010 was his last episode.
Steven Moffat (wrote Blink, Girl in the Fireplace, The Empty Child two parter) took over after that and from our perspective the show changed style. It became more fairy tale, with the look of a cinema blockbuster. At least we thought it had. If you noticed no change I guess it's all part of the hype and us expecting it to be different. There are rumours flying around at the moment saying all sorts of things about Steven Moffat (Moff as we call him). None of them are official, or backed up, or even in the realms of possibility so I won't go into detail. But a blog post went up earlier in the week making him sound like a power-hungry evil genius. A few trusted leaks said it was all true but I'm not sure. It accused him of affairs, poor management, and being generally quite rude to past Doctors annoying the current one. It's far fetched. For that reason I recommend staying away from it. Because it'll only play on your mind and hinder your enjoyment of the show.

What? What!? What.
I ignored Destiny of the Doctors as so far it included no Doctors, just companions. I had no idea Eleven was actually involved!?
I had no idea the Nu-Doctors were involved as usually it's off limits. How exciting!
I will 100% be buying the 9th, 10th, and 11th Doctor stories. I wonder what companion it will be? Oh my god I'm so excited!
This and The Light at The End are more exciting to me than the tv special. I wonder if the Nu-Doctors will appear?
The 6th Doctor just killed a guy with cyanide and made a joke right after, dafuq. (The Two Doctors)

To elaborate, all episodes of Destiny of the Doctors are solely acted out via story narration by the actor of a companion of the Doctor being feature in each episode, with an extra actor to cover a spare character that appears in each story. It's like the Companion Chronicles line that way. But don't get the idea that Doctor isn't in those stories. He is, just that he's voiced by an impression of whoever's narrating the episode.
But yes, all eleven Doctors are going to get stories, and [sp]Eleven is slightly involved in each one. Matt Smith's not dropping in each one to provide audio though, as far as I know. As far as I can tell, they aren't using the Doctors' actors in this line.[/sp] You can thank Big Finish's team-up with AudioGo (current holders for the audio story rights for the new sires) for this happening. Doesn't seem like the benefits extend beyond DotD, though, so don't expect such cameos in The Light At the End.
Somebody on GB just pointed out the new producer means it's now an "All male production team".
Another user replied this was "safer" then added "but I couldn't possibly comment on why".
Moffat/Skinner. I wonder if Mrs Moffat ships it?

I'm not entirely sure if I'm just thinking it up or what but, yeah, I have noticed it get more and more fairytale, more in the sense that, usually the show gives a rather logical explanation to an unlogical situation, and most times backs it up a good bit beforehand. I've noticed this most in the MOST recent episodes. [sp]Ice Warrior from Mars, they just fucking find him frozen in the ice on a different planet, did they even explain how he got there? He was a really important person among the martians too which would make an even large logic gap, that he just disappeared with no reason. Hide... just... what? I was.. not sure the word, confused but I understood what was going on? Like, I got what was happening and why, but it just confused me. Time traveler gets trapped in a bubble universe? How, why, what when? Then that sidejacked lovestory added at the end, which, by the way, that monster was creepy as SHIT. It didn't even explain what the creature was, when it could have provided something interesting. The Superfloxi Draconi, ancient creatures native to the Impersi galaxy, they feed off fear, or the knowledge that they have power. IMO, that cheesy-ass story would've been better for the episode as a whole to be included. Sometimes this time shit confuses me, yeah, but literally the only explanation for her getting stuck was "time traveler gone wrong", unless I wasn't paying attention at that exact spot, HOW? JUST NO EXPLANATION? I mean, in all honesty, I didn't like the episode, was more a love-story than... a Doctor Who episode? Also, at the end, it said she (time traveler) couldn't go back to her time, and then nothing. So she just lives in that time, and no closure for that. Ugh that episode was just weird for me. [/sp]
Hmmm, latest whistleblower blog...load of rubbish ~misinformation
TDT on Twitter. Still banned on GB for leaking too much.
Other sources are saying the same thing. Though they support and agree with the post about Moffat. One person says he was known in the 90's and early 00's for bedding fans at conventions. I laughed out loud when I read this.
Also the three names of actors I posted previously. Different sources are repeating them- but not all three. For example on source is saying Actor 1. Another source is saying Actor 2. Another source is saying Actor 3. Either way they're all actors who have been suggested in the past.
Moffat: Caledonian pimp
I asked TDT about the entire blog:
"He's full of sh*t mate"
Sorted then. I trust TDT. No longer a worry.
Tbh as much as its fun to be fed by the rumour mill its kind of hindering my enjoyment of the show now and making me worry for its future
personally I'd rather not see so much of it in the thread anymore, I don't really care/want to know about Moffat's love life and how its affecting the show, I don't care which anonymous source is reliable and which isn't, I'd rather watch the 50th when it comes out and decide on my own how good it is without being told 50 variations of the story beforehand and the various reasons why they are or are not credible
Yeah I've had enough of it now.
I'm only ruining it for myself :(
Think I'll sign out of Gallifrey Base for a good long while again.
For every cool leak about upcoming episodes and 50th anniversary stuff, there's another that basically says the entire show is tearing itself apart from the inside out.
Oh and I wasn't around for the rest of my stream earlier, was everything alright up until the end?
I found this neat little site.

It's all fanbased, of course, but it's still a fun little thing. And it's pretty basic once you get the hang of the way the circles are shaped. Might actually try to learn it. :v:
my friend who i've tried getting into the show sent me basically the funniest thing i've seen all week

I had a dream I wached the 50th and they had resurrected William Hartnell and it was a 1st Doctor story with the others making cameos and he obviously didn't know who they were.
Glad I'm not Moffat's internet-traversing son with that blog out there. I'm happy to speculate on the show ( even if I occasionally try to avoid the bigger stuff ), but there's no reason I need to know this stuff.

I know right. Speaking to people like TDT and I get the impression that part of the blog is true but they don't like to talk about it because of Moffats son.
I used to have his son on my Xbox friends list but I felt like a massive Doctor Who creep so I deleted him.
We used to play Halo. Moffat really shouted at him one day. It was scary.

This is somewhat hilarious.
Unrelated, what's his Xbox live name?
I can't remember but I wouldn't give it away anyway.
He's about a decade younger than me but far superior at Halo.
Damn. I just want some friends.

How come in both the multi-doctor stories involving the first doctor, The first doctor is always the smartest one there?
