How come in both the multi-doctor stories involving the first doctor, The first doctor is always the smartest one there?
Not necessarily the smartest, just the most authoritative. In The Three Doctors he basically just berates Two and Three.

Seriously the way his face changes is amazing
In the serial: "The Chase", do the Daleks have a TARDIS?
DWM outright confirms no classic Doctors in the 50th.
Of course [sp]we're now under the assumption they will appear somehow in S7[/sp]
:v:
Also this image in regards to River Song... with a caption you may or may not want to read beforehand dependant on context.

If Moffat somehow finds a way to [sp]revive River from The Library so he can have her travel with the Doctor with no restraints as to her time-line[/sp] then I will be pretty pissed off.
In the serial: "The Chase", do the Daleks have a TARDIS?
It's just called a Dalek Time Machine in the episodes, not specifically a TARDIS.
Name of The Doctor DWM Details in full:
[sp]Synopsis:
Every journey taken by a time-traveller tears a wound in the fabric of reality, and the Doctor has time-travelled more than anyone. But the trail runs cold in Trenzalore, the one place in all of time and space that he should never go. The most dangerous place in the universe… Who is kidnapping the Doctor’s friends, leading him to Trenzalore? Could the Fall of the Eleventh be nigh? Or does an impossible girl hold the key? The Doctor’s past, present, and future lives are in grave danger… and his greatest secret is about to be revealed.
Quote:
THE DOCTOR: “The path I carved through time and space, from Gallifrey to Trenzalore. My own personal time tunnel, leading back to every moment I ever lived. Every step, every tear, every kiss. Even the days I haven’t lived yet. Which is why I shouldn’t be here. The paradoxes… very bad…”
Other stuff:
Richard E Grant is back as Dr Simeon (“Hello again,” says the Doctor. “How’s the Intelligence – still Great?”)
Post-Library River Song returns (“Oh, I do like to watch a man think; it’s like watching a whale knit!”).
On the Doctor’s feelings for River, Moffat says: “You never quite know what the Doctor feels. I don’t think you ever should.”
There’s more snogging
Moffat says there hasn’t been a “proper doom-fraught episode” in a while. If this episode is about anything, it’s about death. There is a funereal atmosphere, literally.
Will everyone make it to the end of the episode alive? Spoiler: no
Will we, at last, learn the true identity of Clara Oswald, the impossible girl? Spoiler: yes!
Will the Doctor’s greatest secret be revealed? Spoiler: possibly
DWM doesn’t know how the episode ends, it’s that secret
After this episode, nothing will ever be the same again][/sp]

Yet fans will continue to debate otherwise.
Also regarding the [sp]River Song revival. I think I know why. They need a River that will recognise both Doctors[/sp]
[sp]How the hell are they even going to revive her, she's trapped as a dataghost in the Library ffs[/sp]
[sp]How the hell are they even going to revive her, she's trapped as a dataghost in the Library ffs[/sp]
Got it. [sp] The Doctor downloads her onto a Spoon Head. [/sp]
Also, if [sp] someone's gonna die, I bet he'll kill off River to fuck with us. We're shocked about her being alive, then bam, dies anyway [/sp]
Does anyone like the 3rd Doctor?

Avoiding the DWM spoilers, but I'm being told that apparently people aren't excited about it?
Seeing that people are bringing up River again, If I may ask, exactly what peeves off people about River Song? I get that being the Doctor's (second) Wife is a bit controversial, though personally I don't see it as much, seeing as they don't meet all that often to get in the way. The part-Time Lord thing is a bit sketchy, and I guess after she exhausts regeneration whatitz in Let's Kill Hitler, it becomes pretty pointless. But overall, I've just taken her in as a person with unique time circumstances relative to the Doctor deeply involved with Eleven's first companions, happens to be close enough to be his "wife", and due to how she was raised, is particularly trigger-happy.
I don't think it's all that bad. She's basically Eleven's Captain Jack, only female and committed on one love interest. It makes for interesting character interaction and development, though I do admit, her story's probably around the point where it needs to start wrapping up. Could I get some in-depth alternate opinions.
she doesn't have an interesting personality
interesting things happen to her, she doesn't do much interesting stuff herself apart from fucking around with time to leave flirty messages to the doctor which tbh is getting a bit stale

I dunno, she is strong willed, very reckless, knows how to survive a tough situation, good with a gun, seems pretty well-personified to me, and in Doctor Who at least, she stands out a great deal. To me, anyways, though.
Some possibly relevant news regarding visual effects for Doctor Who, a week late but I forgot to post it.
http://variety.com/2013/tv/news/vfx-house-double-negative-launches-tv-division-1200405307/
Double Negative, the biggest post production house in Europe (and based in London) have decided to open a TV branch. There is quite a possibility that they will take over the VFX from the now defunct Mill TV.
This would be amazing, as Dneg have created some amazing work for films.

River Song is essentially New Who's The Rani. A hugely over-charaterised female because, fuck, we have to have one these days.
