It's because he normally posts all the rumours and thus all the speculation. Someone needs to pick up the gauntlet.
Well, someone said a few pages back that we might be getting a male companion in Series 8 that will serve as a potential love interest for Clara. Why don't we speculate about how that will turn out?
nah
Xander just uploaded his new Doctor Who Intro. I gotta say, it looks awesome.

It's a real shame that that's better than the actual title sequence.
On this thread, we've all done a fair bit of bitching about Moffat. I want to change that for a minute - what are the best things Moffat has done? DISCUSS!
He paid for my food and the roof over my head (literally!)
He created Clara.

Press Gang. The show that inspired a generation to become journalists
He created Clara.
Having chosen the correct actor. Still not a fan of those titles. The bombastic space journey at the start would fit another HD Star Trek sequence better than Doctor Who. At least the show's are suitably ambiguous.
Moffat cast Capaldi, genius. The new DWM is dead good btw, get it. Gives in insight to casting Capaldi and shit. I get the impression Peter was intentionally sucking up to Moffat and the Who team since 2005. I think this has been his plan all along. Also it's sounds like 12 will be quite dark in comparison to others. Exciting! I'm in the Internet at a musical festival. I'm such a nerd. [editline]24th August 2013[/editline] Sorry for an abundance of typos. More so than usual. Using a phone and sleep deprived. [editline]24th August 2013[/editline]
He paid for my food and the roof over my head (literally!)
Have you met him or does your dad talk about him? You generally seem fonder of the RTD years. Wonder what your perspective is on team/king Moffat as you have a fairly unique one compared to everybody else in this thread

Wonder what your perspective is on team/king Moffat as you have a fairly unique one compared to everybody else in this thread
I don't believe I've met him but he's the one who fought for my dad to do the episodes originally (I actually read the script to the Pandorica Opens before it was even filmed - the scene where all the enemies were locking the Doctor up sounded way cooler on paper imo) and then he tried again but this time he actually got through obviously. I think the only reason I probably seem fonder of the RTD years is because David Tennant is my Doctor. Both Steven and Russell are fantastic writers and they've both been great. RTD was better at show running but I'd say Steven might be a better writer (but it'd be a tough call). This is completely coming from nowhere so don't take it as even a rumour but I'd guess Steven will stop show running either after Season 8 or when Capaldi leaves.
We're pretty much exactly three months away from the 50th anniversary. Eeeep [editline]24th August 2013[/editline] Also, best things Moffat has done? Well, Blink is one of them. The Empty Child two-parter. Then there's the whole ~casting Matt Smith and then Peter Capaldi as the Doctor~ thing. Despite the hate of late, he's done some pretty fantastic things for Doctor Who. And Paul's been done by this guy:

As though the BBC doesn't have access to visual effects teams that can do anything remotely as good, or far, far better - if they are told to do so.
Imagine if it did become the opening, his ego would easily become the size of a planet
I think I've worked out that my biggest gripe is all the "OMG you should send this to the BBC!"
Frankly this is a lot better than what the BBC team has produced so far.
Teams work to a brief. Forgive me for assuming that oscar winning visusl effects artists could produce content of greater quality than xandercom if asked to do so. Unfortunately I have no say in what the Doctor Who team approves from Framestore. *** Now, to something important. You thought Dan's absence would cripple us? I present to you, today, a mere glimpse at the 50th anniversary trailer. The Two-and-a-Half Doctors in the TARDIS! Go. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BSbzHOgCIAErE9L.jpg:large
that looks like three posters cut together somehow :v:
Hooray! That's really nice to see actually, brightened my day! :D
Now I just want the trailer even more. Inb4 trailer released two hours before premiere
Frankly this is a lot better than what the BBC team has produced so far.
BBC don't produce it, they hire a VFX company to do the title sequence. The problem isn't the companies they hire - Framestore and The Mill do VFX for some of the biggest films and commercials in the world. BBC give a set budget and a set deadline and the companies have to make do with that. Xander has the luxury of no deadlines and his budget is simply how much time he wants to put into making title sequences, which is a lot. Companies don't have this luxury. As Grizz said, any professional VFX artist is capable of making something as good, if not better than Xanders videos. That isn't to say Xander doesn't have any ability, just that the majority don't have the free time to do so because they're working on stuff that makes them money, not the awe of the youtube community. [editline]24th August 2013[/editline] also that 50th screencap, aaaaaaaa!!!
I would expect a first look at the 50th to be included in the BBC's Autumn Programming preview. I could be wrong, but I would be surprised if it was advertised sooner on television / web.
