I like to think that in the DWU there's several groups all tracking different doctors, who have no idea they're all the same man. You've got LINDA who are keeping track of 10 and 5, whoisdoctorwho who have latched onto 9, but maybe there's also a group out there dedicated to the conspiracy of "The Scarved Man" or "Doctor John Smith"
well he left a huge impact on the world - there have to be plenty of groups tracking him down, and i really doubt that torchwood and unit can clean it all up. i hope there will be episodes like the one about linda (you know what i mean) in the future
How about an episode where The Doctor encounters a fan club for him while tracking down an alien invader. Throughout the episode, he's going about doing all his Doctory stuff and they're all cooing over him and generally getting in the way. The episode takes a turn for the darker when one of the fan club members sacrifices himself to save The Doctor, and he explains to them that what he does is not glamourous or like a movie, but necessary in order to protect the universe from all the evil that befalls it. He then goes on to remove the alien threat in the only way that is possible: by killing it, something he didn't want to do. He leaves with the fan club saddened to find out what The Doctor is really like, but also with a higher level of respect for him for what he has to do. Not only would it be a great twist in the episode, but if it was a Twelfth Doctor episode, it would help distance his character from his predecessor's in that he's no longer just a madman in a box, more a jaded protector of all that is good. now can i PLEASE have a writing contract bbc

I think there would be a greater impact if all of the fan club died except for one of them - so the Doctor literally got the people that admired him the most killed, and by the end the final member is scared, terrified even. He leaves the Doctor telling him to never come near him or his friends and family again, saying he plans to make the world know how dangerous he really is. Then the fan becomes part of a major plot arch, with a higher up person (possibly the Master, played by a new actor) 'befriending' him and making his now twisted story known to the earth. The Doctor can't go back without scaring people now but at the same time there is a bigger threat - the cybermen are also invading earth under everyone's noses. The Doctor must now battle the cybermen and the Master (since the Master wants the cybermen to take over earth just for the chaos and spite of it) while in hiding since the rest of the world is being told to report him if they see him so the government can kill him. In the finale of the episode/episodes the last fan is the one who comes through in the clutch saving the Doctor and in turn the entire world as he realized maybe the Doctor isn't so bad as sometimes you have to kill, even if you don't want to - compared to the Master who is killing for the fun of it. Okay maybe I got a little carried away there. :v:
wait what happened to matt?
So I just got onto Season 3 of Torch Wood, Children of Earth. I heard there is only 4 seasons, and the 4th is not shown on Netflix. Any places I could watch season 4? and is there no word on another season?

Torchwood ended at Children of Earth. [sp]but seriously it's not very good and I don't know where you can watch it[/sp]
Nah, you've been misinformed. There is no season 4 and there never will be. At all. Ever. Torchwood ended at Children of Earth.
Ehm, what about Miracle day? That's the 4th season.

but seriously what happened to matt
He probably just fell over and hurt his foot or something. I actually find it quite funny to imagine an actor playing the Doctor falling over in full costume and going like "ow god fuck oh damn jeez that smarts ecch jesus christ"

Perfect timing to get a foot injury, just before you film your final episode. Hoping for a trailer tonight. Also Chris' "I'll be in the 100th special" statement was gold. Specially the bit about saving all us apes. Made me smile like kid. But more than anything, his cheeky reference to the 100th makes me think he is in the 50th... [editline]26th August 2013[/editline] Actually looking at the fact they just showed another 50th trailer in Scotland and China got that snippet I'd say the trailer will be here in the next week or so. Still hoping tonight.

Lovely image of Carole & Jenna at the end there. Where we were to where we are... and all that.

I'm surprised there was no trailer at the end of the proms, it was another great opportunity missed for it.
For some reason I can't imagine any of the people who've played The Doctor swearing I just can't
Tom Baker did quite a bit off-camera.
I'm surprised there was no trailer at the end of the proms, it was another great opportunity missed for it.
Still as too early today as it was yesterday for TV promotion. If it, or a new series, was starting in September - it would have been perfect. But we're still three months out for a one-off billing.
Doesn't matter when they drop it, it's going to be huge. If the could show it in Comic Con and Scotland they can put it online.I've heard the plan was to promote the 50th AFTER filming for Christmas wraps as they're so busy. Proms was amazing. My nan and uncle popped round during and my uncle has a lot of who-memory considering he hasn't watched since the mid 80s. Even recognised the ice warriors and did an impression. Was quite interested in checking out the new series too.Kept pointing at Jenna and saying "coor she's fit! Bet you'd come to her rescue, Dan"
This should be replicated in the special.
I knew I'd be seeing that image on the net before the day was out
I don't even need to visit this thread anymore, Grizz posts all these pictures on facebook :|
I don't even need to visit this thread anymore, Grizz posts all these pictures on facebook :|
You should know by now that it's just become a recycled DW tumblr with added words. Folk are still jumping on CE's BFI statement because he won't return. It's a shame for his praise for Joe Ahearne. Another man whose tenure was cut short IMO.
My mum is insisting we go to the proms next year. Yay. But will there be one next year with no Who on TV? [editline]27th August 2013[/editline] Well at least not until quite late in the year.
I'm buying tickets to the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular in Australia showing in January. Should be good.
